गांव का CALLER FOR MAYOR TOO STUPID TO SEE THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CULTURAL PRECINCT

Mayor Schier again today attended the weekly flogging organised by John MacKenzie and the same handful of ignorant callers. Val's gotten wise to the scheme however, and is tossing them left and right like Wonder Woman.

One caller however, a गांव का named Raj, is typical of the stupidity being shown by this small group of naysayers. Raj got on the line with the mayor, and first congratulated her on the new Tennis Centre in South Cairns, and the council securing a small part of the Davis Cup event for the opening in September.

Then he went on to rail against the "Val-cano", calling it useless, unnecessary, and a cost to the ratepayers.

No one here recalls ANY negative debate on the Tennis Centre, a project that is known will NEVER produce a profit, benefits only a small slice of the community, and will be maintained by the ratepayers. This is in fact true of ALL the sporting facilities here. Barlow Park has had tens of millions of $$ spent on it over the years, and is used 15 days a year. Maintenance on Barlow Park runs to over a $Million every year. Cost borne by the ratepayers for a small segment of the community.

Apparently perfectly acceptable to the hillbillies listening to John MacKenzie. This isn't about the cost of the Cultural Precinct, or the cost of its maintenance. It's class warfare being waged by John MacKenzie and his 300 Hillbillies.

It's now plain to see.

Jackass.

..and the Cairns Cultural Prencict may well save many businesses and jobs from going to the wall as well as putting Cairns well and truly on the international map as a sophisticated city.
