So this morning, in his first interview on the Rugnut show, MacKenzie read out his list of scripted questions, agreed on in advance with Thomas, which allowed Thomas to fully oppose the project.
Thomas embraced many of the same idiotic points that are often voiced by UnSir Bob, Karin "Pearl" Pollard, Raj the failed printer, and the hillbilly taxi driver crowd. The costs will blow out. There isn't a budget. It's a blank check. It's more than we need. It shouldn't be on the waterfront. Blah, blah, blah.
Thomas claimed that the operation will "run at a loss" like the Tanks and KickArts. Hey dickhead, these aren't businesses - they're public infrastructure. None of the hillbilly losers complains about Barlow Park, Cazaly's, the Cairns District Soccer, and all the other sports clubs in Cairns. They too ALL "OPERATE AT A LOSS". They just paid $178K to put lighting in the Woree Sporting Precinct - with NO business case and GUARANTEED to "OPERATE AT A LOSS".
Council isn't a business, Thommo - who gives a shit if arts programs "operate at a loss". Hey, the department that picks up the bins operates at a loss, too. This is an argument for the clearly illiterate, who don't have two brain cells to rub together.
It's going to be a hard slog for a failed developer and failed businessman (Bright Eyes) to convince the Cairns voter to move him into the Mayorality. We don't need more failed businessmen like Paul Freebody using the public purse to round out their retirement.
With MacKenzie breathlessly reading every question, it was clear that he's found the new man-love he's prepared to push on the hillbilly crowd. After the rest of the Cairns voters get a whiff of the history of this guy . .
Think "sunnies". . .
More soon. . . .
