CAIRNS POST COLLEAGUES SCARED INTO SILENCE, WHILE COURIER MAIL COLLEAGUES RUN "GET SQUARE" ON GAVIN KING

LISTENING TO KING SPEAK HAS OBVIOUSLY FRIGHTENED
HIS FELLOW LNP MEMBERS!
Journalists at the Cairns Post have been cowed into silence about their ex-colleague, Gavin King despite his total inappropriateness as a Member of Parliament.  As one put it today, "he still lives in town, mate and he's not real stable".

However King's former colleagues at the Courier Mail are protected by the tyranny of distance, and to their credit have run an extensive "GET SQUARE" with him in today's paper.

This is funnier than a hatful of arseholes.

And with that comment by one of his colleagues, HillBilly you've expose all that is wrong with journalism today, News Limited and Cairns media. Imagine serious journalists being afraid of REPORTING comments King made simply because "he still lives in town" and is "unstable". Gee on that basis Woodward and Bernstien would have never written a word about Nixons Watergate.

When are we going to hear ANYTHING from Kirsten Lesina - you know, the ALP candidate. Or is having flunkies and hacks attacking Gavin sufficient to achieve office these days? Just how pathetic have we become?

On 17 October 2008 Queensland Minister for Women, Karen Struthers, attended a major conference on abortion in Queensland. The conference resolved a six-point plan to bring Queensland abortion services into the 21st Century.

The very first principle resolved by the conference was “Abortion must be removed from the Queensland Criminal Code, and remain subject to appropriate health regulations”. Minister Struthers supported the recommendation, which is in line with the Labor platform.

In 2010 a Cairns couple was charged, tried, and acquitted of procuring an abortion. There was community outrage at the charges, and large sections of the community called upon the Labor government to implement its platform – to implement the Minister’s promise - and decriminalise abortion. Premier Bligh refused. Minister Struthers refused.

The Labor leadership put the matter off until they thought a private members Bill would be supported by LNP Parliamentarians so that Labor candidates for office would not have to stand up for anything controversial. Around Queensland Labor women fell into line.

Karen Struthers is now the principle attack dog accusing Gavin King of being anti-woman because he urged young women to consider their safety before binge drinking. What a hypocritical stand from a Minister for placating women.

Attack politics, the refuge of hypocrites and liars.

Hehe, just take a gander at the look on some of his LNP colleague's faces. You can see them thinking, "Shiiiiit, don't get maggotted around this fella!"

The local ABC is exactly the same - totally gutless and content to chase ambulances rather than report anything serious. And like the ABC in the rest of Australia, it uses News Limited journalists extensively as guest commentators - including, believe it not - Gavin King!!! It's totally compromised.

Nice to see King copping a bit of his own back. I see in "cairnsblog" where the former LNP candidate for Cairns Joel Harrop has said, of King....(and I quote):

"..he went out of his way to tarnish every person who stepped forward to try and make a difference."

Hey Courier Mail people rip it into the bastard, show King the power of the poison pen and see how he likes it.

Even Mrs Quick, who's married to Mr Quick, seems to be grimacing in distaste at having to share the same planet with him.

Jarrop's statement is well worth reading and confirms our own thoughts on King, he's without peer locally in throwing the shit out, but doesn't come up with anything constructive. He's already demonstrating he can't cop the shit back either.

Than you Courier Mail, thank you cairnsblog for my schadenfreude moments regarding Gavin King.

Beware! King has twittered today on defamation, blogs, and anonymous comments!

"Schadenfreude" is the word to describe it. Whatever happens in this election and I don't really care, because I've had my little bit of schadenfreude in seeing King get some shit thrown back at him by his own colleagues. There is some justice in the world after all.

Lets all raise a stein or two for schadenfreude. The Cairns Post has run a story today quoting Joel Harrop, and I quote verbatim:
"I cannot abide the endorsement of Mr King. His misogynistic woman-hating views and racist platform are untenable....".
TO SCHADENFREUDE!!!

His view are dangerous and he totally fails to see the impact of those that he has latterly purported to "assist".

Please sign and circulate this petition to the LNP that states victim blaming is NEVER okay!

I've signed the petition. King is pretty much in the same mode as the American politicians who are currently "blaming" the unemployed at the Occupy Wall Street and other OWLS locations across the USA, for their own unemployment. As Liz says somewhere, King demonstrates real problems when it comes to empathy and conscience and these will always skew his judgement on matters of morality and social justice.

"Social justice", did you say "social justice" Bus. Op.? King is against it, period. Sheeesh.

I keep on wondering what sort of a Member of Parliament would King make. We have seen him use his position at The Cairns Post to wage a totally unprecedented ruthless and obsessive campaign against the Mayor. There is no doubt he along with rugnut was trying to bully the Mayor into resigning. He has used his position at The Post for his own advantage in furthering his political career and his writings reveal a lack of empathy and conscience. So, what if he is elected? All politicians swear an oath to serve without fear or favour. However, I cannot, for the life of me, see King taking that oath seriously. It's my belief he will flex his muscle, so to speak, and go after people he dislikes - in particular anyone who might pose a threat to his ambitions.
