In what many onlookers claimed was an outburst fuelled by too much fire water, Cueball MacKenzie was reportedly in a late night rant in a Grafton Street restaurant after the Cairns Council approved the Entertainment Precinct on Wednesday.
Cueball was heard to claim "lefties, ratbags, and mexicans" were now in control of Cairns, and that even "the Cairns Post was being run by these blow-ins."
MacKenzie was heard threatening to retire after next year's Queensland and Local Government elections, while at the same time lamenting that "everyday blokes like him aren't appreciated by the community any longer".
One can dream. . .

Another reader who witnessed the MacKenzie meltdown has been told that management of 4CA and Prime Radio have promised Gavin King the MacKenzie show spot should his tilt at member of Cairns be unsuccessful. King was apparently unwilling to leave the Newscorp womb without a fallback position. No word on if MacKenzie was ever consulted on this plan.
