BARRY NEALL, DIVISION 4 COUNCIL CANDIDATE, EXPOSES IMMINENT DISASTER STRIKING ENTERTAINMENT PRECINCT - AND HIDDEN BY MAYOR AND COUNCIL!

Cairns Regional Council documents deliberately hidden from councillors and Cairns residents by Advance Cairns have today been exposed by Division 4 council candidate Barry Neall.

In reports carried by both WIN and Seven News tonight, Neall has revealed the secret six page report that confirms giant blue sharks in motorised tinnies have been found by environmental consultants hiding in the Cairns inlet (the sharks, not the consultants). These consultants then conspired with Cairns Mayor Val Schier and the Trilateral Commission, along with part-time local printer Raj Patel (an Indian name which translates to "John MacKenzie") to hide this vital information from the Cairns Regional Council.
ACTUAL PHOTO SHOWING THE AGGRESSIVE BLUE TINNIE SHARKS
BEING SECRETLY HIDDEN BY CAIRNS MAYOR VAL SCHIER
Shocked by this discovery, Neale earlier today contacted Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd via his shoe phone.  Stunned by the news and potential foreign policy implications, Rudd immediately resigned from his ministerial position and is now on his way back to Australia via tramp steamer.

It's this kind of attention to detail that has endeared the Cairns community to Barry "Citizens against Aboriginals" Neall.  These Blue Tinnie Sharks are likely working for the Taliban.  Good work, Barry!

Barry Neale, who's raised this non-issue along with Wangetti Pearl and Fluoride Annette Sheppard should be ashamed of themselves for raising such and absurd and ludicrous idea. Shows how desperate these wankers are.

Now we're seeing the Barry Neales of Cairns saying the Entertainment Precinct is in a "blast zone" and is also subject to "toxic fumes" etc. But hey despite this, they still want the big cruise ships and thousands upon thousands of passengers to come into the inlet!!! What utter hypocracy!

You wonder why, at the eleventh hour, the anti Entertainment Precinct crowd start screeching about safety issues like explosions and toxicity. I mean, WTF? Wouldn't you think, if these people were GENUINELY concerned, that these issues would have been raised at the very beginning when the site for the Entertainment Precinct was first mooted? But they were not. Nobody said a word.
This whole hysterical campaign just gets even more murkier and suspicious. I now think the question begs to be asked, "To what extent will the faceless people leading the opposition to the Entertainment Precinct, go to, to achieve their aims?" Something is grimly motivating these people and it sure as fuck's sake isn't any concerns for the health and well being of people. Like others, I suspect the motivation is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

It's high time the local economics guru [sic] Bill Cummings was put out to pasture. His appraisals and prognostications are sadly amiss.

Bob Nornan Jr, the fuckwit, is up Bill Cummings' arse. Bob is one if the engineers behind this desperate attempt to sink the CEP. Both stuck in the 1950s and with vested interests.

There is obviously some big money around from interests dying to get their hands on the land earmarked for the CEP. They look like they are prepared to do almost anything to get it as can be seen by the antics of their glove puppets like Mackenzie and Manning and now the Chamber of Commerce. Perhaps it had been promised to them in the past by a previous Mayor?

Barry Neal is running for division 8, not 4. LRN2RESEARCHB4UPOSTDICKHEAD.

I can't beleive this hysteria. Barry Neale has got to be the fall guy for the faceless people behind this. Firstly, the Qld Chambrer of Commerce(ala Brett Moller) requested this information. They asked the old National Party Stalwart(ala Bill Cummings) to dig out this information. Bill Cummings could not do this without the help of our Mayoral Candidate(Ala Masthead Manning and ex CEO of the Port)who would be aware of the rules for handling explosives in the Port. The part that Masthead got wrong was that we haven't had anywhere near the tonnage of Nitrate moved thru the Port since he left. In addition we would need the nitrate to be mixed with diesel and then somehow ignited to cause such an explosion. The Fuel Wharf is at least half a kilometer from the Fertiliser Wharf so I can't see how we could mis them together. They probably think that the Taliban may be able to do this. It is bloody impossible for this to occur. When the good Bill Cummings put his Report together for Commerce Queensland neither he, Brett Moller or Masthead had the guts to stand in front of the Tv Cameras and tell us the good citizens of Cairns of this Perial to our existance. They looked around amoungst their collective anti EP Group for someone to lead the charge to tell us good citizens
supporting the EP that we hadn't sought all the outcomes and that they had found this great BIG NO NO that should convince us all that we we idiots. Well, they found poor Barry Neale who was the only brave person amongst them all to fron the TV Cameras. Well Barry you only showed us that you are a great bloody idiot and anyone voting for you should join your idiot class. Barry why you even bothered to put yourself forward as a creditable candidate to represent the good people in your the division you have nominated to run staggers me. You will only be used as a puppet and you will soon be left high and dry by those who you think are supporting you. PEOPLE in authority don't want to be surrounded by idiots and Barry lets face it - Your a bloody idiot.

So, the Bligh Labor government has announced that Townsville is to become Queensland’s “second capital city”. It is now not only to be a mining, industrial, defense and transport hub, it is also to become home to significant government offices.

Where does this leave Cairns? Cairns has none of these things and is now missing out again. However, we are being offered a nice, expensive Entertainment Precinct……right on strategic port land. Is there a strategy becoming apparent here? Ever since the Cairns Regional Council has become dominated by green left “arts” types, they have been single mindedly trying to halt growth and development in this city, with the help of their fellow travelers in state government, to the incidental benefit of our southern sister.

This green left clique are determined that Cairns is friendly to “green” projects only and closed to all other industry and development. Thus, the site of the Entertainment Precinct fits in well with their plans, as does choking cars out of the CBD, favouring arts projects, driving up rates and placing the welfare of crocodiles above that of citizens to name a few. They are also the same people who put the well being of the criminals and itinerants that currently infest our streets and parks above that of hard working and law abiding members of the community, as their ideology is quick to demand “rights” for these people but slow to recognize that society expects responsibilities to come with those rights.

Their final aim is to prevent all non-green industries in this city and to stifle most residential growth (or “encroachment” as they call it). With fewer employment prospects and little incentive for entrepreneurs with vision call this place home, people with a desire for greater opportunities will be driven away from Cairns. Then population growth will stagnate, residential growth and development will cease, property values will fall and these people will be left to enjoy the little arts friendly “green village in a rainforest” that they have created. To those who object, they will lay the blame for stagnation on the Global Financial Crisis and accept no responsibility for themselves and their policies.

When I first came to Cairns in 2002, there was a real buzz about the place, the city was going places, it was clean and safe and there was a great energy and feeling of optimism in the air. But under the guidance of our current civic and state representatives this has all but evaporated. The writing is on the wall and the direction these people are trying to take us in is becoming clearer each day. Please, if you want this city to have the vibrant and economically diverse future it deserves, with opportunities for all and not just the few, if you want responsible growth rather than a “lock everything up and throw away the key” mentality, then PLEASE vote for leaders who undertake to promote a positive and economically diverse vision for our city at the upcoming elections. Another three or four years of our current leadership and our city may never recover that “buzz” again.

Another anti CEP report - very conveniently timed - from the Chamber of Commerce. They wrote the terms of reference and then followed up with the report itself. Who do these white-shoe spivs think they're fooling?

A big rant with little substance Kev... er... Anonymous 24/2/12 06:17. Exactly which part of the council is the majority green left? Townsville has always had the advantage over Cairns Mackay and Mt Isa virtue of its geographic position as a central hub. Cairns has its own particular strengths and, despite the economic downturn still has large businesses such as Cairns Central showing confidence in the local economy by expanding their property and a second large hardware competitor opening one of its first regional retail outlets here in Cairns. The biggest problem for Cairns is that it is still reeling from the overinflated property market created by fly by night developers and the ugly legacy of some of their constructions. Ironically, most are now bankrupt.

I am very very uneasy about this talk of "explosions". We have seen a ferocious campaign against the Entertainment Precinct, from day one. That it has reached the heights of hysteria can be seen in the witless allegations that the EP would be "a white elephant". We all know that there are some people, a small group, who are determined, grimly determined that the EP not go ahead. They have fought against it now for years. There is no doubt in my mind that the stakes they are playing for are very high. Whether it is money or maybe a secretive legal contract which, if broken, may mean jail time for someone - whatever - I do not believe this small group will back away. We face a State Election where it is almost certain there will be a change of Government, where the newly elected Ministers will have no knowledge of the history behind the Entertainment Precinct, and perhaps no knowledge of those leading the opposition to it. They will be easily manipulated therefore. However, what will happen if the politicos cannot be manipulated and Val Schier is re-elected with a majority supportive Council? I am filled with foreboding. I don't believe this group of people opposing the Precinct will stop, and I believe they will stop at nothing. This is why the talk of "explosives" worries me. Looking ahead, would they dare to sabotage the building of the Precinct with explosives? Time will tell, but my antennae are all out and I am sensing we will see many more ploys to come.

All Ears Pricked said...

Hmmm, a secretive legal contract Bus.Op.?? Makes one wonder whether an anticipatory repudiation is in the wind? That, of course, would most likely mean damages $$$$ . An interesting speculation.

Just looking around at the early "polls" on some blogsites, it could well be that our newly elected Council will be comprised of 5 Councillors pro the Entertainment Precinct and five against. Immediately upon their election they will be thrust into a political and media imbroglio concerning the issue. It sure as hell won't be over particularly if as Bus.Op. is theorising that legal action is pending.

Damn right the tactics aren't over yet. As Bus. Op. has dared to suggest, to what level will this group go to, to stop the Precinct? They already have King, who is a weak and ambitious fop, announcing $40 million to "dredge" the Inlet, well before the release of the environmental report on dredging the inlet. Thus, they can fool the people of Cairns into believing that "dredging" will go ahead and all the big cruise ships will come into port and all will be roses in Cairns if only the Entertainment Precinct wasnt built on Ports land.
None of it is going to happen of course. As soon as the Entertainment Precinct is scuttled, then the group will get some fuckwit to announce that "dredging is not possible because of a recent environmental report" or "lack of funds because of the previous Labor Governments debt." Looking at the possible new Council line-up, it looks like we will have some dumbfucks there, who won't have a clue as to what is going on.

Yeah mate, this talk of "an explosion" worries the shit out of me too. In all the years the Cairns Port has been operating there has never been any explosions so why the fuck have those opposing the Entertainment Precinct bought the issue up now? Is it just scare tactics or is it an implicit threat?

you mob of parasites that drewl over this site dont have a fucken clue what day it is you all get your dole check on thursday and buy heaps of piss and then go to the council library and get free internet to put ya bullshit on here iv seen you all as im here now and i need another beer so ill leave you dumb fucks on here, hey Bogan and Buzz you can't fag in here.

Dear Anonymous (24/02/12 - 18.19) No I'm not called Kev thanks for the compliment though. Is this all you can find to critisise? Yes I'm aware of other areas natural advantages......that's why we need to be extra careful and skillful at creating opportunities here not stiffling them.

Your comments on Cairns Central are very interesting in light of the view of this blog in it's latest article on the planned Cairns Central expansion.....are you guys not presenting a united front??? I think it is pretty clear that the current council is skewed to the left.....you can demonstrate otherwise if you can.

Please refer to my comment on this article (about Cairns Central). Yes there has been a downturn in real estate but this is everywhere to some degree or other. Lets talk up our region and encourage anything we can to grow our ecconomic base and our population....we need these big residential developments. You might think they are ugly or whatever, the fact is that they are the way of the future annd with population growth comes a critical mass of people that can make meeting peoples ecconomic, social and cultural needs more viable.
Saw an interesting documentary on SMS abour our urban habits and chaos theory, the rule of 15% (X1.15). This is one of the drivers of human civilisation and urban growth....... this is how our lifestyle becomes better exponentially as cities gow bigger. If you can think of a better way we can grow bigger without some negatives, please let me know! Otherwise........Innisfail seems to be standing pretty still??? Maybe some Cairns denizens would feel more at home there.
