DARLING OF THE HILLBILLY SET IPSWICH MAYOR PAUL PISASALE SCHEDULED AS GUEST SPEAKER FOR VAL SCHIER FUNDRAISER

In a stunning coup, Mayor Val Schier has scheduled a fundraiser for her Mayoral reelection, supported by guest speaker Paul Pisasale, Mayor of Ipswich.

Pisasale, who's been used by Cueball MacKenzie as a shill in the hillbilly attacks on the Mayor and Council, is known to be widely supportive of Val Schier and the visionaries on the Cairns Council.

The fundraiser is set for 9 March at the picturesque Whitfield House.

I might just mosey along. Val is one of my favorite Cairns ladies and worth supporting. Didn't she look just great out there doing the Zumba thing?

ooor anyone see a big bloke there with a face liked a slapped arse and his trousers up under his armpits, that's Neil. chickmagnet you ain't Neil.

Might just head along there myself. Yes Neil, Val is a fit and energetic woman and it is great to see a Mayor get personally involved in sports and fitness. In fact we haven't had a Mayor so involved with the community for a very long time. Manning and Cochrane will have a hard act to follow if they are elected. No matter how Mackenzie praises up Manning and Cochrane, there is no real substitute for having a Mayor out there playing sport with you,
doing the Zumba alongside you, riding bicycles and so on.

The coppers would have to arrest both Kev Byrne and Margie Cochrane I reckon if they both trotted out in them tight leotard things.

A good point Dina. To the best of my knowledge, I just cannot recall a Mayor apart from the late Keith Goodwin getting in there amongst the people and playing sport. Seeing Val playing touch football, cycling into town, bush walking, and doing Zumba is great. She is an inspiration to all those middle aged couch potatoes sitting on their lounge chairs watching TV and growing steadily fatter.

I think Val is worth supporting because she has stood her ground while being bullied and just got on with the job without whingeing. I like it too that she joins in with the kids and sports groups. I see her around town a lot and that is a good thing.

As well as being super active on the keep healthy scene, Mayor Val is also active in the Arts department. She is out there everywhere and not just during election time. From day 1 in the job she has supported minority groups and is also focused on improving this city even though the media have tried to pull her down. Val 4 Mayor ? INDEED!!!

I am truly hoping that the people of Cairns will do the wise thing and re-elect Val. With nothing but shit dumped on her by that manipulative prick, cueball, and that trash, the Cairns post, she has stood tall and got on with the job of running this city for the people. I see her at every community event I attend. (many) She appears to have energy, enthusiasm and a backbone, keep up the good work Val we really do know of your hard work and appreciate you efforts.

How many arts & culture events did Byrne attend during his tenure as mayor? I daresay they could be counted on the fingers of one hand. Val Schier, on the other hand, has hardly missed a gig of any significance over the past four years. All those who want to see a continuation of Cairns' thriving a&c scene would have to vote her back for another term. Victory for any of her rivals would be a huge setback for the local arts scene.

Val turns up for all events not just the arts. Fat Kevi was pissed most nights and incapable of extracting his fat arse bloated backside out if his arm chair.

Byrne was only seen at functions when there was free booze and food. Once he had his fill, he was off. Mayor Val on the other hand will have a glass of wine, but always pays and of course, with her great figure, and style, eats very little of the free food. Now that's a lady that i am proud to have as our City Mayor. She looks good, dresses fashionably, talks sense and is passionate about what's happening in this city.

It's very obvious that all of you left wing wingers above are not ratepayers.

This is a terrific coup and a complete repudiation of Rugnut. He calls up Pisasale and uses his comments to attack the council and Val - even though Pisasale never says a bad word about Val. And in fact Pisasale has been sharply critical of MacKenzie's "core" listeners - the taxi drivers. He's noted repeatedly that their all negative hillbillies who are getting their negative talking points from Macca.

And now Pisasale is here supporting our mayor. Quite fine!

Anonymous above, I pay rates and consider myself a centralist. Val is an outstanding mayor for the people. A rarity these days!

We pay rates too and while I was pissed off at the rates rise, my brother in Toowoomba and sister in Brisbane pay more than what we do.
Val Schier is the best bloody Mayor Cairns has had since Keith Goodwin, a real community spirited out there amongst everybody person.
Yeah Byrnsey was always sitting on his fat arse boozing or gobbling. Margie Chochrane is a buddha type as well, sitting back and not joining in. The way she has sucked up to rugnut speaks volumes about her as well. As for Manning, sheeesssssh, he;s a septegenarian for chrissakes!

Val represents the spirit of Cairns. She shines. She's gregarious, outgoing, gorgeous, vivacious, elegant, charming and strong. I'm proud to have her as our Mayor!!

A Mayor without a Council. Useless as tits on a Bull.

Val has demonstrated she can lead a mixed Council, much like Julia has demonstrated superb skills at keeping a very disparate Government together. This coming Council Election will see a mixed group of Councillors, conservative, and progressive. Val will be the ideal Mayor to lead them!!

I went to the Whitfield House fundraising event for Mayor Val Schier and must say that it was a very impressive turn-up of a mixed group from the community with all very positive vibes in the room. The speech from the Mayor was excellent and the talk by Paul Piscale who backs Mayor Val to be re-elected was sincere and informative. The food, drinks, service, music, guest speaker and ambience of Whitfield House (all donated) made for a very pleasant experience. Well done Val!
