THE REAL REASON THE LNP SENT NO CANDIDATES TO SUNDAY'S CANDIDATE FORUM IN CITY PLACE

Sunday's so-called Candidate Forum was a thinly veiled Labor event, organised by Labor hacks, run by Labor hacks, and designed to showcase the Labor hacks.  And it was the Labor hack who garnered the media attention, not the candidates.

Funny that.

The LNP stood mute.  Even the brain-dead media couldn't help but ask why when baited by the Labor hacks.  WHY!  WHY???  Because it's no secret that most voters in Queensland want Labor out.  Why should the LNP stand next to these dead men walking, and TALK?  Talking just gets candidates in trouble - not just the LNP, but any candidates faced with a "sure thing".  So Campbell Newman has ordered the candidates to SHUT THE FUCK UP.  No interviews for the media.  Even Campbell isn't talking!  With Gavin King's views easily unearthed with a quick Google search, he can only dig his own personal hole deeper.  And why would the rest of them?  This election is in the bag.

And while North Queensland clearly might be fertile ground for an organised independent party movement, they've got no money and charisma-less candidates.  No Pauline Hanson here, and nothing to motivate any third party movement.  You can't go far on the back of a nutso like Bob Katter.

Gavin King not showing up wasn't the story.  Hearing the candidates was the story.  But with the dead body Anna Bligh hanging around the neck of Kirsten Lesina, her Labor masters had to make Gavin King the story.  They've got nothing else left.

The only question for Kirsten Lesina is:  "How would you plan to accomplish anything for the voters in Cairns if elected as part of a gutted opposition of 12 or so members?"  All Lesina proved on Sunday by reading her notes in a dull monotone is that she's just another Labor cipher, who's accomplished bugger-all in council, and life, and has nothing to acquit her to the voters.  But poorly educated voters in Cairns, still accustomed to pulling the trigger for the ALP even knowing they've done so much damage to North Queensland, may very well shun Gavin King's big mouth, bigger ego, and sleazy persona and install Lesina in Brisbane, while holding our collective noses.  Get rid of the fuckwits around you, Kirsten.  Stop defending the indefensible.  You still might have a job after March 24th.  And you might keep some semblance of personal ethics.

Hillbilly, the organisers were not members of the ALP. Toasmasters officiated at the rally. They too are not members of the ALP. Forgotten Katter's Australia Party? They were there. They aren't members of the ALP. Seems to me as if Gav has been whispering sweet somethings in your gullible earole.

I wandered past later on in the afternoon and spotted someone from the Family First Party as well as a good contingent from Katters Party. There were around 200 there as far as I could see. Dunno why for the life of me you are calling all these people Labor hacks.

Yeah well King has already raced off to the media and appeared on TV whinging and whining and wringing his hands that the forum was full of ALP and unionists. Made it perfectly clear he only wants to front up to a supportive audience, the gutless coward. GOBSNOT IF YOU ARE READING THIS, you are SUPPOSED to represent ALL people. You take an oath to do so, if you are elected, you cowardly, snivelling shithouse rat.
And that means that you will HAVE to front up in public to both ALP supporters and unionists. You namby pamby little sook.

So thats why little gavvy gobsnot didn't get up on the stage there at City Place. Well well, there he was driving around in his big fancy bus with his ugly weasel face all over it having a sticky beak at the crowd at the city forum. Then he screamed and pissed his pants when he saw a couple of unionists there hey. So off he goes in a screaming panic, wringing his hands, pissy jocks and with snot streaking down his face, crying to the TV people that all the big bad nasty ALP people and unionists were there. Hehehe, I can just imagine what the TV people really thought. Reckon they would have pissed themselves laughing, like I did hey at the little girl. So he reckons he wants to be a fucken member of parliament? well fuck me dead hey. What's the little girl gonna do when everyone gets stuck into him hey? Go crying to Mummy?

The email sent to candidates inviting them to the forum was from the "Occupy" ratbags. Doesn't get much more left/labor than that.

This incident of the city forum is pretty clear evidence that the LNP candidates will not interact with all members of their constituencies. This is very very serious stuff and certainly raises doubts of their suitability to run for public office. King himself seems to think his role is to be like a rock star or film star, only speaking to adoring audiences.
His appeal to the media for help indicates he is not a coping personality and unable to handle conflict or even perceived conflict. He confirms my suspicions that he is an inadequate narcissistic personality, plagued with personal issues.

Now goodness golly Anonymous above. So gobsnot and his LNP cronies would only have gone along if they received a gilt edged invitation from "CAN DO" himself? Hey? Years ago, Womens Electoral Lobby used to organise these forums. So because they were a left leaning womens organisation, you're saying that gobsnot and the LNP would also not have attended?

Alison Alloway said...

A good point Nanna Kay. I was a member of the Womens Electoral Lobby for many years, and yes, we did host the political forums each election year. I recall vividly all the LNP candidates who attended from Ray Duncan, Robin Ette, Vic Piccone, Brigadier Thomson etc. WEL was definitely left leaning and its membership included such Labor luminaries as Councillor Rose Blank, but no LNP candidate boycotted those meetings!!! Those forums hosted by WEL were all respectful. The big change came with the public forum held at Brothers Leagues Club in the 2010 Federal Election when the noise and rancour from the LNP contingent of supporters drowned out all the speakers. I was shocked at the rowdiness and rudeness which was unprecedented in Cairns. It was so bad, I can't recall anything anyone said.

Tony Hillier said...

Yeh, I also attended that public forum at Brothers Leagues Club and it was like being at a rowdy footy match. Sunday's forum at the Shitty Place, by contrast, was genteel, even though there were representatives from the right and left flanks of politics among the audience. The candidates treated each other with civility, which is as it should be. Heaven help us if we ever descend to the gutter level of American politics. King (Salmon) and (Coral) Trout missed a golden opportunity to show their scales (in a musical sense, that is).

Curly Joe said...

I dare say it was that public forum at Brothers Leagues Club in 2010 which was foremost in the LNP candidates minds and why they boycotted the City Place forum last Sunday. Memories of the screaming, the catcalls, the boos, the torrential abuse issued by their own LNP supporters towards Jim Turnour, probably scared the shit out of them all. They probably assumed ALP supporters and unionists behave like common orcs like their own people do. Hey what';s the betting the LNP send out all their orcs when the Mayoral candidates have their turn at the public forum?

good one hey??

Yes Curly Joe. Gavin likes to particularly heap the abuse and vitriole on one woman, doesn't he?
Isn't it just pathetic that when he is in the firing line, he runs away with his tail (well I am assuming he has a tassel of sorts) between his legs.

George said...

bogan, you got me laughing here again so hard, Ive got tears down my face. Im still remembering your fat as a suicide bomber comment as well.

SAPPHO said...

You got it bogan. Gavvy almost crashed his van when he spotted....SCREAAAAM...some ALP "hacks" and "unionists." I mean, for the love of Jesus Christ, they were in broad daylight too. What a terrifying nightmare! Gavvy and Hillbilly reckoned it was like Night of the Living Dead or Flesh Eating Monsters from the Deep come to City Place. So Gavvy put his foot down on the pedals and almost skittled one hundred Japanese tourists breaking the sound barrier down Lake Street with his pissed pants between his legs and frantically beating heart trying to jump out of his sunken skinny hairless chest.
Hillbilly himself will have to take PROZAC and seek psychiatric counselling after spotting the "hacks" and "unionists". Of course he too pissed his pants with terror and his blood pressure boiled away bursting all his eye vessels. Because I am a kindly soul and concerned for their welfare, I am sending Gavvy and Hillbilly some needles so they can poke each others eyes out so they never never ever again have the indescribable horror of seeing a "hack" or a "unionist" ever again. Frankly, I doubt either one would survive the trauma of seeing another "hack" or a "unionist".

A debate in which Gavin King is not involved and afterwards all anyone is talking about is Gavin King. No discussion about the other candidate's, their performance or policies. All Gavin, Gavin, Gavin.
The labor candidate for Cairns has the profile of a peanut. From where I sit it looks as there is only one candidate in the coming elections.

Bus.Op. said...

Yes indeedy Anonymous above. Because gobsnot's absence showed him up as the craven, gutless, cowardly, sooky little girlie that he is. Yeah he was a tough bully boy getting stuck fair right up Val Schier for years, writing his vile vitriolic columns for The Cairns Post and spewing hate on the Mackenzie show. But hey, come the first community forum for this coming election, which Anonymous, for your information, have been a feature of the Cairns political scene for DECADES as the ladies, Kay and Alison, have said above -
and what does King do? For the first time in Cairns history an LNP candidate boycotts it and runs off to the media, whinging and whining about ALP people being there!!! My fucken oath we're talking about it.

Liz said...

Shame on you people! What did you read before about narcissists? A narcissist MUST BE the centre of attention at all times! Anonymous above has hit the nail on the head so to speak. Everyone is talking about King and not what the other candidates said! That is precisely what he wants. His boycott of the forum was a deliberate act, providing him with media coverage. A narcissist usually has no courage and no ethics, but plenty of cunning, as you have all now seen.

Ha Ha Ha. Media manipulation one 0 One .. Say nothing until you get everyones attention then distroy the encoumeant with promises and a call to a new open and transparent council. Why do Journo's hook up with politicians ?
Narcisists just do eachother better no matter how old they are.
Three weeks out from poll day all will be revielied. Ive been waiting for this for quite a WHILE . AB ... Game over old man.

Terry Vance said...

It wouldn't surprise me if we hear of another "election forum" before Election Day. In fact I suspect this was the reasoning behind the boycott all along.

Anonymous said...

A "community forum" not organised by "unionists and ALP hacks", Vance? A "community forum" stacked with NICE people? A "community forum" with a certain Master of Ceremonies? A "community forum" bristling with police? Funny this was what I was thinking too.

Jeepers, i bet kirsten lesina will be quaking in her boots if a forum is organised by those neo-nazi trog friends of mine in the business community.

I believe there is to be a "Chamber of Commerce" forum for the State candidates which is of course not open to the public. You can bet all the NLP candidates will be there.

This issue shouldn't be who the organisers were (although this was clearly an ALP-organised event, even if not by "card carrying" members). However the event spun out of control when the hackling of Gavin King began (led by Stuart Traill and Janine Aitken) and wasn't immediately stopped by the moderators. When the organised heckling began, you could see the smarmy smirks of delight on the faces of the forum principals, including Geoff Holland, a known sleaze ball.

Im not a member of any political party or trade union yet over the decades Ive seen many politicians from Menzies to Whitlam to Rudd get up and talk at public rallies.
Seems to me as if this King fool cant talk at a public rally then he should not be standing for parliament. Simple as that.

Angus said...

As an organiser of the event I reject the fact it was organised with any political motive or bias. I am a law student and wanted to organise an event where all parties and members of the public could attend so the community could ask the quesions they wanted answered. It was unfortunate the media coverage of the event focused on King's non-attendance where it could have focused on what issues the community saw as important in this election. It is sad to see this still going on. Politics is dirty and so much mud gets thrown even at the people trying to strenthen democracy and giving people the chance to ask what they want.
