GAVIN "DON'T RAPE ME" KING - THE MEMBER FOR MACKENZIE

4CA - 9:10 AM:

Cueball MacKenzie (to Janelle McNaught):  "Is Gavin King coming in today at 10?"
(pause. . . )  "Oh, he's on a plane".

"Would someone tell him to turn on his mobile phone so I can talk to him!!"

Well gobsnot King owes a lot to rugnut. He got years of free electioneering publicity, he dominated the talk-back shows for well over a year, he was given no opposition to debate with, he had callers who might have argued or disagreed with him, screened out. It's time now for payback, big time. Jump, gobsnot, jump!!

See rugnut and his amazing, dancing piglet, the one and only gobsnot, the "king" of cans.

OL' CUEBALL & HIS AMAZING DANCING BEAR

aka THE KING & I

With due deference to the great Randy Newman and Alan Price

I may go out tomorrow if I can borrow a rug to wear
I'd step out in style with my right-wing rants and my dancing bear
Outrageous, alarming, offensive and smarmy
Oh who would think a boy and bear
Could be so well accepted on the air
It's just amazing how biased callers can be

Seen at the fat-cat places where well-fed faces all stop to stare
Making the grandest entrance is ol' Cueball and his amazing dancing bear
They'll love us, won't they?
They feed us, don't they?
Oh, who would think a boy and bear
Could be so well accepted on air
It's just amazing how bigoted callers can be

Who needs money, when you're funny?
The big attraction everywhere
Is Ol' Cueball and his dancing bear
It's 'Ol Cueball and his amazing dancing bear

Hehehe, good one Tony Hillier. I remember the song well.

Not sure what to make of it.

Does he expect a psychic flight attendant to request Gavin King to please turn on his mobile mid flight so he can call him? Reminds me of a wrong number call I received once, after explaining it was wrong the caller screamed and absued me for not offering to give them the right number. Senior moment or he is just boss of him? Cueball Air Force One?

Tony Hillier, you could sing that song well I think.

It's just absolutely revolting to think that Mackenzie has King firmly in his pocket like a pet spider. I can't think of any other politician here in the Far North who is owned and controlled so completely by Mackenzie. Entsch kowtows and butters up Mackenzie when he feels like it, but rugnut completely commands the weak and effete King. It's sickening and gut wrenching to listen to the pair of them on 4CA. King behaves like a passive, docile school boy receiving his instructions for the day rather than a Member of Parliament. The ugly truth is Mackenzie is the REAL Member for Cairns administering vicariously through his inadequate, effete puppet, King.

You're right on the ball there, ruby red dress. All King has going for him is a poison pen, away from that he is a gutless and effete caricature of a man. He is absolutely powerless as an MP because Newman just doesn't need him in Parliament and wouldn't give a shit if King loses his seat at the next election. King is as useless to Cairns as a tit on a bull. The fact that he is controlled by Mackenzie and Mackenzie's mouth in Parliament will see him booted out on his arse next election. People are already waking up to the fact they have Mackenzie's pet parrot in Parliament. Their comments ain't pretty!

Old rugnut must have rubbed his hands together with glee when he saw King - a pissweak, ambitious fool with a grossly exaggerated sense of self-importance with a penchant for spitefulness but personally gutless and cowardly, easily dominated and controlled. Yep rugnut now has his life's ambition. He is now THE Member for Cairns. His weak little puppet will travel to and fro Brisbane ferrying rugnut's instructions and faithfully reporting regularly to his Master. Yes, you can listen to rugnut's talkback show and listen to the puppet dutifully reporting like a good little puppet does. Frankly its downright cringeworthy.

ruby red-dress you hit the nail right smack on the head. Mackenzie is King's svengali no too ways about it. Mackenzie is pulling all the strings there.

Mz. Elly-May Clambutt said...

I'm not sure I would describe Mackenzie as King's "svengali". King is self-serving, unconscienable, ruthless, cunning, sly and without a moral compass, the exact same characteristics as rugnut in fact. I see them as soul brothers who have gravitated together. As for rugnut dominating King, couldn't it be that King is using rugnut for his own self-serving interests? Just my point of view anyway.

Interesting theories you people have on the relationship between King and Mackenzie. It sure as fucks sake isn't the normal type of relationship between the media and a politician that's a fact. Who gains the most from it? Obviously King. King needs Mackenzie more than Mackenzie needs King. I don't think that rugnut is King's svengali either. As Elly-May pointed out, King didn't need any lessons in cunning, deceit and treachery. He already had those qualities in abundance. King's position in Parliament is precarious. Newman certainly doesn't need him and King may have woken up to this fact. King was elected on just over 40% of the primary vote which means his seat is not safe and could swing to Labor next election. To my way of thinking, King is dependent on Mackenzie to keep his name out before the public and to make out that he is "doing something".

I'm hoping to listen to Tony sing that song somewhere - make a good electioneering song.

Im inclined to agree with Anonymous above. King NEEDS Mackenzie rather than just being a puppet. Put it this way - who was it who turned around Anna Bligh's statement that the sale of the Cairns airport was to "build a new hospital"? (Anna Bligh's statement clearly said the sale of the airport was to upgrade the existing hospital PLUS buy land for a new one). I believe it was Mackenzie who glibly spruiked this outrageous lie, day after day, whenever he could, so the idea was firmly planted in peoples minds. Then it was just a matter of King picking it up in his column when the time was ripe, and then accuse Bligh and the Labor Government of "not keeping their promise" and "telling lies". This was then trumpeted over and over and any attempt to correct it in The Cairns Post was rejected by the Editor who was none other than King. Mackenzie of course screened off callers who would have refuted the outrageous and cunning lie.
The whole thing was political deceit and cunning at its worst and succeeded because of the two working in tandem. Goebbels would have been proud.

Well said jim-bob jnr. A classic example of the two working in tandem to discredit the political opposition and to perfect an outrageous con job on the people of Cairns.
