NO END TO THE SILLY BULLSHIT COMING OUT OF JOHN "CUEBALL" MACENZIE'S PIE HOLE

The first headline read by John MacKenzie this AM was the positive report from the defence minister naming Cairns as a possible likely port for more Navy ships.  Conveniently ignored was the fact that his has come after an in-person presentation to the government by Mayor Schier, and AFTER the approval of the waterfront site for the Entertainment Precinct.  Facts ignored by Mr. Loudmouth.  We'll see how the MP for Boganville Warren Entsch does at "bringing this project home".  Any takers??

All breathless and giddy with glee, ol" cue ball then jumped head and shoulders into the "visionary project" proposed by "experienced engineer and Caravonica wackjob" Peter Senior (NOT the pro golfer).

In support of this nonsense, MacKenzie bellowed "even the beach in Waikiki is artificial, and is replenished with sand from Newcastle, NSW".

BULLSHIT.

Read it here.  Or even here

Spruiking this kind of project gives 'ol Cueball the soapbox to attack the DERM, attack the Greenies, and move forward his ultra-right-wing hillbilly agenda.  It might be an interesting idea, but then he pollutes it with his unmitigated lying.

Next we'll here about the rocks quarried in Bendigo for the Great Pyramids, or the floor tiles for the Taj Mahal that came out of a factory in Darwin.  And as the Hawaiians tell it, the biggest source of bullshit in the world comes from 4CA between 9 and Noon.

Somehow any experience in engineering apparently makes people experts on anything. It's a river mouth estuarine environment, not a sandy beach. Dredging will make it more muddy not more sandy. The fact this kind of thing gets a mention in the two largest forums in Cairns just highlights how moronic the brains trusts at 4CA and the CP are.

Quoting urban myths as facts is standard operating procedure for "shock jocks" otherwise known as "idiots".

Just like Entsch now reckons he's a passionate expert on Tibet. Spruiking any bullshit for his overseas junkets.

The engineer talked about how we could pile up the dredged soil into a plateau out from the Base Hospital and top it up with pure sand from a sand farm somewhere. He reckoned the dredged sludge could be put through a de-acidification process. Well I don't quite know how all of this would work.

This is absurdity to the hilt, my daughter looked at me in amazement, at 12 years of age, and believed it! "even the beach in Waikiki is artificial, and is replenished with sand from Newcastle, NSW". Is CUE BALL an idiot? Christ almighty, what more shit can this FUCK STICK dream of to say? Like, The White House was constructed of ripple iron from an old shanty in Normanton? Fellow bogans, nothing more amazes me, than the shit that runs out of his fucking idiotic trap. He should have stuck to cab driving in SYDENEY! But then again, George Burns once said, during his long life, that everyone who should be running a country, normally drives a taxi-cab, or is a barber. Burns was right in a way, CUE BALL wouldn't know what a fucking barber is, and as far as his past haunting him being a cab driver is concerned, he now not only THINKS, but BELIEVES he can run Cairns, is true to his misguided, stupid form. He is a fucking RAT BAG. I think his brains are getting fried by the sun, now that he has REVEALED HIS SPIT AND POLISHED HEAD JOB. Contributed by: FAT BALLS - Cairns North.

Sadly a large percentage of Cairns is gullible enough to believe this Bullshit. They just don't care and would rather be told what to think. You only have to look at who they voted for. Cairns desperately needs some alternative media (like HBW) to expose these idiots.

There is no doubt that in the recent past there was a Sandy Beach here, sans mud flats. Talk is of it being restored, the currant situation being the result of previous human activity. The Beach at Waikiki has been eroded in the past also, however it has been augmented since early times as its importance was recognised. Wikipedia states that sand was bought in the 20's from Manhatten Beach in California and augmentation has continued, with a major initiative underway as shown. It doesn't state other sources of the sand since then. We have allowed our beach to be totally eroded away and mud flats to develop, so what is being proposed is "resoration" rather than "augmentation". Where the sand comes from is irrelevant, except that gaining it from Manhatten Beach (or Newcastle) may be prohibitively expensive!

i can remember back in the mid 80's rughead as he was then known, had another lunatic expert who he was backing for mayor. The would be future Mayor believed the answer to all of Cairns problems could be achieved by duplicating the Bruce Highway from Brisbane to Cairns, having heavy trucks using one and cars on the other...this way freight could arrive in Cairns quicker

So we would have the problem of dredging the inlet, taking the sledge somewhere to be de-acidified, then dumping the sludge to form a plateau on the Cairns foreshore, then topping it with pure sand. We would probably have to build some breakwaters as well. It starts getting expensive doesn't it? Would the sludge be stable enough?

We need to feel some sympathy as they are scared babies. Here it is all explained.

Where the hell is that Environment Report into "dredging Trinity Inlet"? It was commissioned by the Bligh Government last year and supposed to be released in March of this year. I have heard a rumour it is held up at the Ports Authority, but I notice The Cairns Post last week or thereabouts said there had been "technical difficulties" (WTF?) in releasing the report. Something funny is going on, and no-one seems to have picked up on it. Where the hell is it and what are its recommendations? How the fuck can there be any debate at all without having this report released? Has it been deliberately stalled? Any idea Mr Hillbilly?

Right wingers are less intelligent than left wingers. Yeah well, look what the morons and cretins have done. Handed Campbell Newman on a platter all our State funding for the new Entertainment Precinct so that Newman immediately announces Brisbane will get a new performing arts theatre. The right-wingers have left us with a rapidly deteriorating Civic Theatre which year by year is unable to stage modern productions and NO MONEY to build another one. Oh the right-wingers did the same thing back in 1995. They all rose up in outrage over the proposal for a new hospital, so the Government gave it to Townsville and we were left with an ageing, inadequatre hospital and NO MONEY to build a new one. Christ or mighty, you think they would have learned something the first time around, but these donkeys don't seem to learn anything.

I started listening to CUEBALL after a long hiatus this morning, and he hasn't changed at all. Egging on one of his hillbilly listeners, who was complaining about the money being spent by the Federal Government ‘wasting money on advertising the NBN’. BUNG EYE jumps in and condemns the 'millions and millions of dollars being wasted in advertising the NBN'. What a PULL OFF. His old man should have PULLED OUT and BLOWN him all over the sheets. That advertising is paying DESERT HEAD'S salary, and keeping his SHIT BOX radio station on air, and the rag newspaper, The CANS GHOST in print. Fucking idiot. Go back to driving taxi-cabs you DROP KICK. Contributed by: FAT BALLS - Cairns North.

It can only be a matter of time before developer John Dowson's Trinity Point/Fantasy Island project of the '80s rears its ugly head again!

Pretty much agree with the leanings of this blog and it contributors comments. It a great alternative to the vested interests who control pretty much all of the media in this town. BUT! Is it possible to moderate the language to make it more inclusive? Some of the invective above is really beyond the pale. I would like to introduce others to this blog, share the views around, grow the readership but hesitate to do so because of this.
Please, lets keep it intelligent and lets keep it acceptable to all sensitivities.

I wonder what old Cueball will say when he finds out how much it is going to cost to dredge- will it be 8 or 9 figures?

It's a blog for hate filled loses that cant handle the fact that McKenzie got his way.
The spite and vindictiveness is amazing.
In fact the contributions are so low life that even ol' Barfly's postings look intelligent!

Cairns is the dredging capital of Queensland - the continual dredging up of crap by our outraged and dumbed down for bogans local media.

Tony Hillier - please elaborate for those who were not here in the 80's.

I have decided to move to Far North NSW. More me. I had high hopes for Cairns but never going to happen. Small bounce in real estate coming up but huge questions mark it will last for long so perhaps good time to sell. Maybe a good escape time. Bye Cairns, thanks for nothing.

I agree with raising the standard of comment as the best way to get more people to tune in. I raised this a week or so back. But its up to HBW to make the move. Cairns deserves better than rugnut and the cairns post as a means to know what is happening in our part of the world.

I agree with the last commenter. This site is what we need in Cairns at the moment, but being confronted with rubbish from the trolls is really a big turn off and prevents me from recommending this site because of their mindless crap. I guess that is their main purpose for trolling anyway.

Dean said...

Nothing wrong with the trolls having differing opinions, that's what makes for lively debate and it's what the Post and 4CA lack.

Bad language and childish insults don't add anything to the debate.

I must confess I've only heard MacKenzie once, then I turned it off. I don't know anyone who listents to talk-radio during the day. I only listen to the radio for about 15 minutes a day when my alarm goes off in the morning, but I spend hours a day on a computer at work and at home. Most of my friends are the same.

For the benefit of Second Anon and others who didn't reside here in the '80s:-

In 1989, 6000 people protested against the ‘Trinity Point’ development of John Dowson, which proposed building a concrete island on the Inlet mudflats, linked by a causeway to the 'Nard. The project included a casino, hotel, and other tourist facilities. A major campaign that I was involved in was launched to put a stop to a horribly ill-conceived and inappropriate development, fully supported by the Bjelke-Petersen National Party government of the time and local minister for everything, Martin Tenni. The swell of local dissent with the proposal enticed the the State ALP government to withdraw consent for the development shortly after it was elected in late 1989.

Just suggesting for those of us who post in here regularly, it might be an idea to change our nicks.

The attacks on "the greenies" reminds me where the hell is that Environmental Report into "dredging"? Is it my ever fertile writers' imagination that something smells?

good old Joh and Martin Tenni, if only they were still in power we wouldn't have the unemployment we have today.

jethro, I agree. Change your nicks everyone.

Well a certain "peace" activist is now in a quandary. He was rather vocal in his support of the LNP at both recent elections. He must be DEEEElighted with the planned expansion of HMAS Cairns. Who has egg on their face now? Oh well, he may yet have a lot of spare time on his hands to think about his actions with three squares a day after the 24th of May.
To Whale beef Head - you hate this blog so much and yet you post every other day. Gosh I would hate to see how often you posted if you LOVED the place.
This dredging and sand replenishment would cost well in excess of $100 million dollars. How many decades would it take for this money to be recouped? Anyway, not going to happen. NoCanDo couldn't give a rats arse about FNQ - he's only interested in SEQ - it's a shame QLD is full of so many dickheads who couldn't see through this prick.

Destiny Prophet said...

The idea is perfectly feasible.

You may all scoff because my engineering knowledge comes from the School of Hard Knocks and doesn't include fancy univermusirty edukmacasion but I have invented a process known as The Prawn.

All it needs is a 'surplus to requirement' big mouth. You stick his head in the water and he sucks up all the crap at the bottom of the inlet and it comes out the other end pure golden sand. It's simple reverse engineering so that the crap goes into his mouth instead of coming out of it.
