RICHIE BATES PROVES "UNITY" ETHEREAL CONCEPT AS RUMOURS OF OTHER UNITY INDIANS OFF THE RESERVATION

BOB MANNING NOW DISCOVERING MANAGING ELECTED
OFFICIALS MUCH DIFFERENT THAN BULLYING
CAIRNS PORT AUTHORITY EMPLOYEES
The 4CA Cueball effluent bubbled over violently today, as signs from the Cairns Regional Council indicate other Unity Team members are unwilling to vote as directed by Mayoral puppet master Terry James.

Bates was allowed to frontup on the MacKenzie talk-a-thon and directly make the case for his vote in support of continuing the planned Entertainment Precinct.  Even Cueball knows he and Janelle can't just hang up on an elected councillor.  Insiders report that Bates was invited to speak only after Cueball "checked" with Terry James who only allowed Bates on the radio if he had the "right of reply".  John MacKenzie still proves to be a dickless wonder, with anyone in town making programming decisions.

But other Unity Team councillors have been raising serious questions about the intelligence of rejecting the $97million of state and federal money.  One new councillor was heard noting that, from their research of council records, $97million in outside funding is 12 times the funding received by Cairns Council during the entire Tom Pyne & Kevin Byrne administrations!

And another new councillor, during a review of council operations, was obviously stunned at the $188million paid by council for the Cleaner Seas project during the Schier council, without a dime in outside funding available.  They asked innocently why this much larger expenditure by council for water didn't get all the public attacks despite its much larger construction and on-going cost to the ratepayers, compared to the EP.  For some of the new councillors, trying now to grapple with a tight budget and Bob Manning's silly promises to build an Entertainment Precinct WITHOUT other government assistance commitments, the idiocy of Unity Team's blind commitment to this nonsense is becoming clear.

As one councillor noted, $100million of council money for a new Civic Theater over four years means $2million per year, per division, less for roads, drainage, and other services or a 12% per year increase in rates.  Suddenly, the Schier council numbers for the Entertainment Precinct are looking pretty good.

At his swearing-in ceremony, Bob Manning released his Unity Team councillors from blindly voting as Kevin "Hiding from Pakis" Byrne has ordered, insisting they work together as a council.  With the justification collapsing for a community the size of Cairns snubbing $100M in "free money" while expecting ratepayers to pony up $188M for a mandated water program, even a new councillor can see how much damage to their division will be done to failing to build a new Schier-less theatre purely for spite.

I have no expectations from the Unity Councillors other than they will do as Manning/Byrne tells them to do. Bates is to be congratulated for voting to retain the Schier Precinct plans. He has copped shit from all sides, and I dare say his decision yesterday wasn't taken lightly by him. I am predicting the Federal Government will pull the funding, the CRC cannot keep stuffing a Federal Treasurer around over so large a sum. That will then give Entsch, King, Mackenzie, Manning and his Unity Team to blame it all on "Julia". Wait and see. There is going to be more political skulduggery.

Seems to me as if you have very high and unrealistic expectations of the Unity Team, Hillbilly. There is a scam going on, someone wants to gain from the funding; The Unity Team are there to make sure it happens.

Hopefully the dickhead new Councillor now understands that our rates went up because of the cost of the CLEANER SEAS initiative. Val didn't have any choice!

I can well believe that rugnut only "allowed" Bates a chance to speak on his shit program after checking with Terry James first. Di Forsyth was never "allowed" to speak on his program, ever. Uggggh. John Mackenzie would be in his element in North Korea. Like the others, I don't have any expectations from the Unity Team other then they are puppets who will never stick their necks out, who will never "make waves" and who will do as they are told. They are there to ensure a few certain people make plenty of money and plenty of it from this Council and they will do it. They will. Then after four years they will fuck off to Victoria, West Australia or wherever. Moreover, they know exactly and precisely what is going on and what is expected of them.

The boutique hotel concept, mentioned by Entsch a while ago, was brought up by McKenzie today in response to Terry James' statement that the CEP should be funded by private enterprise. Terry played dumb. Some deal is definitely going on.

The deluded Pearl came on air again. Not because she had anything new to say, but just to fawn and drool over the deputy mayor and to state once again how delighted she was that Cairns had knocked back 100 million dollars worth of funding. What an idiot.

Did she complain about funding cuts to the Cairns Base ? Of course she didn't.

"Hillbilly", it seems to me as if you are still hankering for a Council of independent thinking, rational, principled people of integrity and intelligence. You still believe in Santa Claus obviously. This Unity Team were elected BECAUSE of the long running media war on both Val Schier and the Entertainment Precinct. It's just bullshit that any Councillor didnt know about the cost of the Clean Seas Project. It's why our fucken rates went up so high during Val's first term in office but the Unity Councillors didn't say that in their electioneering, did they? They got elected on misinformation, lies and misogynism, bolstered up by Mackenzie and LNP money. So you reckon they might have some principles and integrity hey? Bullshit! They know exactly what is going on, and I bet some of them have their hands out too. Grandad Manning will piss off in four years and so will the Unity Team Councillors. They will root Cairns as much as they can, line their own pockets with as much as they can and then piss off into the sunset.

And how will all those silly buggers who said the port area needed to be preserved for future shipping feel when cando sells it for a hotel complex. My work contacts on the Gold Coast tells me Cairns is becoming the laughing stock of Queensland for turning down 100 Million free dollars.

Manning and the Unity Team can't proceed with the Entertainment Precinct on the waterfront without proving themselves to be colossal liars. Manning screamed and shrieked about how critical that waterfront land was for ports expansion, the economy of Cairns, the future of Cairns blah blah blah. One of Capital Globe's subsidiary companies is in fact, a shipping company, and Bill Cummings February report contained a lot about Cairns being the shipping hub of the North's mining industry and establishing a regular shipping service to PNG. Incidentally Townsville has spent a hell of a lot of money recently in developing their port as a "shipping hub for the North's developing mining industry." If Manning was to go ahead with the current proposal for the Entertainment Precinct, he would not only lose face with the voters (not that he has any intention of being accountable to the voter), but he would UPSET the investors in the shipping company. And we can't have that, can we?

Christ all mighty Anonymous above you reckon Cairns is a laughing stock for turning down 100 million dollars? What about 1995 when the fuckwits turned down a BILLION DOLLAR brand new hospital led all the way by fucking Mackenzie??? If there is any justice in this world, any karma, I hope to God Mackenzie dies enroute to Townsville hospital in a helicopter because we don't have the facilities here THANKS TO HIM and his moronic listeners.

The bitter former minister for corruption was on air yesterday berating the deputy mayor for " allowing" a Unity member councillor to break ranks and vote in favour of the CEP.

He must believe his glory days have returned. Maybe he can lend them some spare brown paper bags. They might come in handy to finance whatever deal they come up with.

Meanwhile the bogans are creaming themselves with excitement over V8's and rectangular stadiums, not realising that their rates and taxes will pay for it.

Is it possible to letter box every household in Cairns with a flyer that simply says "Visit Hillbilly Watch" and wait for their reaction? Also corflutes on the highway and stickers to be put everywhere. The ratepayers of Cairns need to get connected with this blog and learn some truth. Get a bloggers fund going to finance this exercise.

Is $100 million about $1,000 for every adult in Cairns? About $2,000 per person who voted at the election. Are the people of Cairns for real? Spend all their lives bemoaning being ignored by the political capitals and now they knock back $100 million?

everyone seems to be using the figure of 100 million as the potential loss of funding but in fact it is 131 million. Ports North were given 31 million for the land that the council will pay peppercorn rent of $10 a year for the next 99 years.State govt from memory have paid this and it was linked to being used for infrastructure by ports north. It is possibly the money now being used to finish the boardwalk. So does that have to be paid back. any comments

I'm hoping to God that Swan freezes the Federal funding for the Entertainment Precinct until the Manning Council can provide conclusive proof that the funds won't be directed to propping up a mates business or an outright public/private enterprise.

letterbox drops or corflutes will get the message out. but first there has to be a change to the policy on language if this site wants to be taken seriously. i am in the building industry so swearing is not exactly foreign to me! but there is a time and a place as they say. a blog trying to get the message out to a more mainstream audience leaves itself open to dismissal with the current use of swearing.

Dean said...

Swearing's a part of life. The people that can't handle the swears are the 40+ generation who are already stuck in their conservative ways. It's the younger generation that needs to understand what's going on and to think outside the MSM. Which they already mostly do. And they don't care about swearing, that's the last of the internet's worries.

Manning got back from Brisbane today and doesn't have good news, though they'll try to make it sound that way. The State get about $40mil in cash back from Ports North for the land. If Manning's signed that back, which I'm sure he has, he's a fool and the project's over. The feds won't fund a theatre without decent probity and that will not only take years, it will unveil some things the string pullers won't want unveiled.

Very interesting Dean, now let's see whatr the liars and spinners make of it. I expect The Cairns Post tomorrow will shriek, MANNING GETS THUMBS UP FROM BRISBANE!

Anonymous said...

McKenzie just said that there had been a communication breakdown with Can-Do's office. Looks like Campbell doesn't want to talk to him any more..

Argus Tuft said...

When can we start calling for this incompetent and dysfunctional council to be removed? They're rapidly piling the runs on the board and they've only met once!

Dean said...

Argus, that's very hasty, they've only made one bad decision and it was the one that may have contributed to their election. I wouldn't say they dysfunctional and incompetent just yet.

Manning will try to spin it positively, something like "State funding still alive" even though it's mostly gone. They're going to see if the feds blink first. If the Feds (ALP) withdraw funding first, they can blame it on them, withdraw all the state funding and say it was the feds fault. The feds have had that $40 mil sitting on the books since 2010. It won't sit unspent for another year, in an election year. More likely they'll re-use it to fund something on the Bruce Highway.

So Grandad Manning is probabloy learning that Newman doesn't give a shit about Cairns. He doesn;t need the seat of Cairns to hold Government. King is actually the WEAKEST Member of Parliament Cairns has ever had, because he has NOTHING to bargain with. Newman doesn't need his seat with his huge majority, SUCK EGGS MANNING YOU FOOL. Fool, fool, fool.

Anonymous said...

The LNP certainly doesn't need the seat of Cairns but if this pattern of neglect continues they will have to worry about the seat of Leichhardt. This will be a worry for Wazza.

Anonymous said...

What's the betting Newman and the LNP throw a few crumbs to the rednecks and hillbillies so they can stage the V8s? That'll keep Mackenzies hillbillies in a state of permanent excitement, then they can raise all over again the matter of the 20,000 seat stadium and keep on bringing it up over the next four years whenever the rednecks and hillbillies get restless.

Anonymous said...

If you remember the first person to cast a doubt on the location was Wazza when he got on his re-election trail. He started the rot and the Margaret Cockroach started to get cold feet after initially being for it. It was Wazza Stench that fired up the Unity Team that left Margaret Cockroach in the cold. Whata Stench should be the one who should well and truly bear the blame for the loss of the CEP along with his mouth John fuc..ng CUBALL who gleefully pulls the strings for Whata Stench. Together this pair of haters have denied Cairns of $100 million of Infrastructure. They have also thrown over 300 jobs away as well the confidence of people who were once willing to invest in Cairns. HBW can you elaborate on what Bates reasons were and how he responded to the inevitable quip about breaking ranks from his unity team.
