NAKED ENERGY TELLS NAKED LIES - BUT NEVER MIND, CLOSE THE DOORS, THE PARTY'S OVER

Naked Energy, the dodgy-looking company previously investigated, dropped in for an "interview" with Cueball MacKenzie on Monday, to spruik more of their dodgy-sounding "deals" on solar.

Cueball didn't even bother informing the audience before or after the "interview" that it was from a paying advertiser, another (sigh) breach of the ACMA broadcast laws.

But no matter.  Campbell Newman has closed down the solar industry this morning, reducing the feed-in tariff (what the government pays us) from 44 cents a kilowatt hour to 8 cents.  Cairns residents normally pay 22 cents per kilowatt hour, comparable to Hawaii where residents pay about 25 cents.  Hawaii.  An island with no resources, no energy sources, with everything shipped in.

The average cost of electricity in the USA is 9.8 cents.

China makes electricity from coal mined in Queensland and shipped 10,000km by boat, and then more by train to power plants.  The Chinese pay 7.7 cents a kilowatt hour.

Ol' Cueball had Mr. Canadian downplaying the government decision, claiming that the "payback time" on a system now is about 10 years instead of 4.  Clearly Wade Allen doesn't have a calculator, OR a clue.  Apparently Wade is going to get stuck with a whole warehouse full of unsold gear like the insulation schemers.  Done in by your new LNP government, thank you very much.

Goodbye, Naked Energy.  We await your next dodgy Canadian scheme.

What a cruel blow to our developing solar energy industry! I wonder if the LNP explained they were going to do this when they were campaigning?

Surely, if customers pay 22 cents per kwh for power, the feed-in tariff should be close to that. Who came up with the 8 cent figure? Somebody working for a power company, no doubt.

The rest of us taxpayers have been subsidising it from day one
It is another Labour bullshit "green" scheme to make us all feel warm and fuzzy despite making no economic sense.

The way this QLD LNP G/ment is cutting everything, it will give the federal ALP an unwinable win for sure.

You won't be subsidizing the solar panels anonymous but you will be paying for the new coal fired powerstations as Qld turns its back on renewable energy and heads back to the Joh years of the eighties. But I suppose that's how you would like it anyway.

I see that the LNP Vic Govt under Ted B is going thru the same solar turmoil and voters are livid! Couldn't happen in Q/land could it??
Cando lying?? I have his full page of pre-election promises posted on my wall and it is starting to emit a rather foul odour.

Ironically the Premier of Brisbane has just managed to find sixty-five million for a road upgrade on Samford Road - probably from part of the proceeds taken away from Far North Queensland.

Newman's plans for "independence" of State Schools is scarey. Both the British and NZ Governments have had to intervene after corporate sponsorship saw schools veer away from core educational curriculum.

Newman will leave the worst until after next years Federal Election, Anonymous 12.19.

Where is that coward king we should stick his head right up cando's Samford Road

I wonder if thats why we are still paying such a high price for our fuel, so Cando can rape us up here for every cent as he knows theres no hillbillys in Brissy.

I believe Barry O'Farrell has done a similar thing in NSW. It seems to me as if the Newman Government are copycatting everything O'Farrell does.

The Australian is carrying a story about Newman's proposed $2 billion redevelopment of Brisbane CBD. Where are our Queensland media reports on this?

Of course Newman would destroy the solar panel industry in a state the has some of the highest number of days of sunshine in the country. After all they are the COALition party.
