"A" PHIL CROCKFORD RESPONDS ON BEHALF OF BITTER OLD HILLBILLIES

After firing off an angry diatribe to the blog this AM, Phil Crockford was first on today's Cueball hour, where he then unloaded on Rob Pyne.

Crackpot yammered thusly:

Then Crackpot fired a letter to us:
"Hi

Read with interest you snippet about my letter on Cairns.com.au re age related job seeking . Are you truly that fucking stupid that you think positions vacant and gaining employment are not age related you need to grow up sunshine. For your information there are 5 (five Crockford's) in the local directory) it's not that uncommon unlike hillbillywatch I could not find one.

regards

Phil"

Whatever, Phil.  I hear Maccas is hiring.

In reply to the Cairns Post article regarding Federal funding for Mission Beach July 7:
"Ha hahahahahahahaha there must be an election soon is there. Dont start doing anything until you see the actual $$$$ in the bank. I would not trust Wayne Swine or Juliar Gilltrap as far as I could throw either of them."
An example of the usual shit from this sad little man Phil that can be found almost daily in the Cairns Post comments. It obviously conforms to the Cairns Post's own political agenda, therefore his pathetic political jibes are regularly published.

he's probably got a job writing crap for the LNP and poisoning society with his nastyness.

As well as being cranky and nasty he would have failed the employment test because of his grammar. "Crockford's" in the sense he was using it, does not have an apostrophe.

Apart from anything else, Mr. Crockford is “Completely Wrong” on this. The bore that he says ‘has not been used for over 6 months’ was in fact used several times last week!

In fact a considerable amount of water was pumped unto the lakes … THE PONDS LEAK PHIL – THAT IS THE WHOLE PROBLEM!

Council staff will investigate whether or not the leakage can be attended to and the cost involved in fixing the problem. When we have some real data or evidence as to cost/benefit a decision will be made!

Phil Crackpot; go get a life.

Hasn't the fool realised there has been a change in Council? That we now have a doddering geriatric for a Mayor who doesnt give a root about the stinking lake at Forest Gardens or all the Eisteddfod kids standing shivering outside the Civic Theatre or appearing on Port Douglas radio or being seen at public gatherings (apart from sport) or even one Phil Crockford for that matter. Grandad Manning is only in for one term as Mayor, so you can whinge and whine all you like and that includes one Phil Crockford.

I saw many posts by Rob Pyne on this Lake issue, however we have voted for back to basics. Not council job to provide lakes for select few.

Phil Crockford has been one of the "big mouths" on Macca against wasteful spending. I can't think of anything more wasteful than a decorative artificial lake in an upscale neighbourhood.

Fill it it!

What is it about talk back radio that attracts nutters? Don't answer that, my question was rhetorical. Sounds like Phil has far too much time on his hands. Please - someone give him a job. His threat at the end of the call for Rob Pyne to "watch his back" should probably be taken seriously. You just never know with these flat earther right wing nut jobs. If it is such a big issue for Phil, why hasn't he raised it with The ComPost before? It's not like he doesn't piss and moan about something every other day. Phil, I know you are reading this. Mate go find yourself a hobby and immerse yourself in it. Do everyone in Cairns a favour and piss off.

i find it funny that he talks about the forest gardens festival... and mentions all of the arts and cultural things that are happening, yet he is so against arts and culture!

I just feel sorry for the other four Crockford's in the phone directory.

So he complains about waste, high rates and so forth but then are first to whinge about a decoration? Why Pyne sent him to hillbilly radio, only place such hypocrisy goes unchallenged.

I must confess to feeling very uncomfortable Hillbilly that you have taken to throw shit at a member of the public. I am a regular contributor and supporter of "Hillbilly" because of my long loathing and disgust of John Mackenzie whose media contribution to this city has only been negative and corrosive. However I support the democratic right of ordinary citizens to have their views, however banal or extreme. We have too few people as it is, prepared to come forward today with their views, opinions and suggestions. I feel attacking individuals for their views will only see a reluctance on the part of others to participate. Our democracy is weakening and we need to encourage as many people as possible to actively participate in citizenship, not discourage them.

JOHN MACKENZIE'S HILLBILLY WATCH said...

Ruby, I take your point and agree this is "out of the ordinary". However there are a handful of voices who have continually pummelled this blog with abusive and harassing emails, and once they engage in this way the gloves are off.

And our charge is exposing corruption and hypocrisy in the community. Phil Crockford has qualified himself.

ruby said...

Thanks for the explanation, Hillbilly. That is fair enough then. Any chance you can get your hands on that Environmental Report into dredging the Cairns Inlet? Anyone know what the conclusions were?

Mick said...

Ruby,
I reckon Crockford has been well and truly over represented with his opinions on radio and in particular the Cairns Post. Your comments about attacking people for their personal views is exactly what this person and several others of his ilk do regularly. They almost deliberately stifle any open discussion from others for fear of verbal retribution from these bullies apparently with the blessing of the CP editors.

Liz said...

Like Ruby, I have some qualms about exposing a member of the public in here. However, I agree with Mick above, this particular individual has demonstrated a very UNdemocratic and menacing tone to anyone who might express an opinion or view he doesn't agree with. He doesn't present a debate, just hurls out the abuse.

Anonymous said...

Ruby, I agree with your sentiments, but I reckon the likes of Crockpot, Silverbeet, de Spewville and others of their ilk are fair game, because of their constant nasty attacks on anyone and everything. Nasty, bitter and sad.

WTF is this: "Ask Manning Why said...

AMW, that job is taken by the Cairns Post and the likes of Damon Guppy and Nick Dalton.

HBW, Whilst talking about the Media, I had to watch the local news on Channel 7 to-night because the boss put it on that Station. I couldn't get over the number of stories they put on our "local" news that came from Townsville and the Burdekin areas. What have these stories got to do with our area which is north of the Cardwell Range. I can only assume that they have cut back on the number of employees that they have in Cairns. If they really needed to save on local content then they should drop the bullshit we get from Cueball every week. I don't watch Channel 7 news at home because they engage Cueball who gives a weekly rant in which he gives his ratbag opinion bagging someone or something. Charlie.

crockfords comment about Rob having to watch his back starts to ring the alarm bells and i believe Rob should be concerned and crockfords behaviour should be looked at

Crock is delusional and needs serious doses of anti psychotic drugs. At some stage he will be a danger to society.

Phil is a rejected union hack who now has a pathological hate of the ALP. Both 4CA and the CP need to blacklist him in light of his recent threatening comments about an elected member of Council. We should not tolerate this behaviour, regardless of our political views. Come on 4CA and CP, blacklist Crockford.

Wonder how King is coping with Mackenzie's outrageous fib about how "dredging the inlet won't happen because of Newman's cutbacks"? Mackenzie, King and Manning were all in a froth of foaming mouthed hysteria just a few months back about how "dredging" would save Cairns from certain death blah blah blah.

Bob R. said...

King probably got Mackenzie to make up some crap about Newman and his cutbacks to hide the real conclusions in the report, that dredging would be dangerous to the reef and too expensive. We could have told dipstick King all of this, but being a know-it-all he wont listen to anyone.

Miss Chief said...

Exposing a member of the public? Huh? He exposes himself. Each and every letter he writes, each and every time he rings Mckenzie; he exposes himself. NO sympathies for Crockford. He is his own worst enemy. On with the show.

Crackpot was on the radio again today complaining that no one will give him a job. I'd feel sorry for him if he wasn't such a knob! Phil why not set up your own business and employ yourself, if no one else will ? You might require an attitude adjustment though...

Phil crackpot, what a joke, I bet he has nothing better to do than just sit back looking for things to whine about.
