CAN-DO CAMPBELL AND PROFESSIONAL LNP SPINMEISTERS OFFICIALLY GAG GAVIN KING

Insiders from Brissy confirmed over the weekend that Gavin King has been officially gagged from posting to his website, Facebook, or Twitter without review from a "minder".

The "keys" to the Gavin King website have been demanded by, and given to an LNP staffer said to be working in Joh Bjelke-Newman's office.  All of this site is now fully under the control of the LNP.  And the government staffer in King's office who organises the posts to Facebook is now forwarding the King-written posts to this same Newman staffer, who reviews and approves or disallows it.

The LNP leadership is said to be angered that King has failed to quell the dissent in Cairns as has been done in most other electorates, and blames his incessant big mouth and personal acrimony with many in Cairns for the problems.  And many regard the former News Corp. journo as the source of leaks being given to the Courier-Mail.

King is known to be Twittering from at least one "troll" account.

More soon. . .

Why is this not a surprise. Even with News Ltd, King always had to sustain a huge ego - with grandiose titles and deliberately provocative columns in an attempt to enhance his masculinity and negate his effete persona. It's not such an effective strategy as an impotent member of a political machine, especially one led by a dictatorial army goon in a suit.
Gavin, I'm even starting to feel sorry for you. Now, nothing to lose and everything to gain by showing us you have some balls and fighting for Cairns and the region. It is, after all, what we pay you for. You would have said so yourself in a previous incarnation.

Look, you're always picking on me in this blog, always me, never Trouty or Kempton and I am not effete nor camp pie or whatever. I'm doing my best after the hellish mess that Boyle and Schier left Cairns in, alright. I mean what did they ever do for Cairns? I ask, what did they EVER do? I bet all you posters on HBW were behaving like yapping dogs down there at Parramatta School yesterday. I asked the cops to give you all a good dose of capsicum spray and to taser those hysterical ugh women all dressed up in orange who were trying to give the Honourable the Premier, Mr Newman, a cake. I mean how dangerous and ridiculous was that? I could see they were Al Qaeda terrorists in disguise as well as Cairns Branch ALP members. I was so upset after all that yelling that I had a big big bowl of bread with milk and sugar on it when I got home. So there. Anyway next time I see you all behaving like a pack of dogs, I'll get some capsicum spray and give you all a good dose. Awesome. There, and you won't call me effete any more. Toodle pips, got to talk with John DA MAN this morning.

"Dissent been quelled in other electorates". THE LNP WISH!! People are furious all over the State. Geez, I had a gander a few days ago at Campbell Newman's facebook site, and it was choking with angry, bitter posts. I have never seen anything like it.

Oh Gavin was tough and hard and used to describe himself as "taking no prisoners" when he was sitting in his cushy little Editor's desk at The Cairns Post. The wimpy, campy, dickless, weasel face also reckoned he didn't believe in "political correctness" so we can all indulge the campy sook with his own beliefs. Yeah now he's the MP for Cairns, the roaring lion has turned into a whimpering mouse.

Blingy Baby, I think those ladies were dressed in pink, not orange. The I was not there, just saw a pic, They looked fab btw.

Cairns has lost a lot with LNP and seeing the debt is still set to rise to 80 bn means the money will still be spent somewhere. Just not here. I declare Cairns officially ripped off and that maybe the reason we are not easy to shut up.

We are a disposable seat, not doubt about it. Along with King Cairns is not important to LNP. Next 3 years we will get nothing.

Why does Curtis Pitt continually say the Bling's "Loss to Cairns" figure is only $90 million? Doesn't Curtis SEE the other $105 million. How can we trust him with government if he doesn't know about money?

bob deacon said...

Anonymous 11:26 ... $90 million is an accurate figure, $57m CEP plus $33m CBD, this was money promised and taken away. Incidental amounts are incidental, it's how you choose to categorise them, his figures aren't inaccurate, they just don't include some of the things you blame King for, maybe Curtis blames someone else.

In the end king is just a so called journalist and a bad one at that. The old joke what is the difference between a dead cane toad in the middle of the road and a dead journo? There are skid marks in front of the cane toad says it all the way most people in Australia hold the regard for journo's these days. They can dish it out but cringe with disdain when it is aimed back at them.Haven't heard from pearl for a while or is she busy lobbying to stop the "boot camps coming to her miserable little neck of the woods.

Gavin King has pissed away previous commitments to Cairns. This includes the contractual commitment for the EP. And most believe that the federal commitments to these projects, which are lost due to the LNP Queensland government, should also be tacked on to King's total loss to the community.

It's only reasonable and fair.

He has always needed a sub editor

He was getting his arse handed to him on facebook buy a couple of poeople using facts...he went quiet fast. Cairns is totally screwed for 3 years.

bob deacon said...

The federal money isn't lost yet, Swann made that quite clear.

We may lose it in the future if no decisions are forthcoming, but it's there now.

If we do lose it, it will most likely be the fault of the council, not King.

Also he does get all the flack while the others remain hidden from view. This proves to me that we need fewer MPs'. One for cape and TSI/ One for Port Douglas to Gordonvale and one for the tablelands and west. Trout is getting an easier ride.

Spent today at the Firies and Ambo rally at the Regional Cabinet meeting venue (Cairns Regional Council chambers) awaiting a (promised) address from Minister Dempsey. Dempsey wimped out, couldn't face the Emergency Service people he is the appointed minister for. Like the cowards they are, Dempsey, Newman, and our very own brave local member King then scuttled away via the back door. Back Door Newman. Back Door Dempsey. And the most unforgivable of all; our local member: Back Door King.
When your local member runs through the back door to avoid his constituents, you know you have a cowardly dud.

Hillbilly, your post explains why Trout and Kempton have been quiet as well. Looks like Newman is as much a control freak as old Joh was. King forged a new low in journalistic standards here in Cairns during his self-serving campaign for "power" and promoted himself as a tough nut with all the answers etc etc but frankly he's made a total dick of himself.

Newman's popularity is tanking alright, faster than a dozen cheescakes down that huge cakehole of Gina Rineharts. Even bloody old Clive Palmer the fat Controller has had enough of him. Yeah King is on the nose. He's a oncer thank Christ. Lets hope he pisses off back to NSW. He's been disastrous for Cairns. Christ he cant even stand up against Newman so what hope does Cairns bloody have? I reckon the other two up here will be fighting for their seats too next election and good fucken riddence, pair of mutes.

A nice little consequence of Newman's wild slash and burn policies is that Tony Abbott's popularity is declining. Abbott of course has come out and publicly supported Newman so Aussies know exactly what Abbott will do if elected next year.

Jethro said...

Dunno who you mean, shanghai about who is "winning". It's highly unlikely that the LNP will lose office in the next State Election, if that is what you are trying to say. Their majority is far too great. Newman however would lose Ashgrove if he stood in that seat, but I predict he will look for a blue ribbon LNP seat before the next election.

Even the Cairns Chamber of Commerce is getting stuck into Manning for the total paralysis the CRC has inflicted on Cairns.

I agree with Elly-May; the longer Newman is allowed to run around, the less chance Abbot will have. There is a parallel with what Can-Do's idol Joh BP did to Howard.

Wonder how long it will take before "Sledgehammer" McKenzie and his Hillbillies realize they have been well and truly shafted.

I heard Pearl waffling on about her excellent education the other day. With Val gone, she has no one to criticise any more, so she just talks about herself now. With Pearl, and so many others, it was never really about the CEP. If it was they would be getting stuck into Manning who has nodded off after putting all council business on hold indefinitely.

There is a long time before the next election. Campbell will be doing all the unpopular dirty work for the first year leaving him two years to get his popularity back. The General Public will have moved on from the Public Service Cuts by the time of the next election. Anyone who says it will be an issue at the next election is dreaming.

Timely remind of what Gavin "Dont Rape Me" King really thinks:
"Politicians of all stripes sometimes have their heads so far up their own backsides they forget they’re elected to tackle society’s problems and respond to concerns from constituents."

Wrong (Anonymous 18/9/12 07:44). When you start deep-cutting the public service including Emergency Services, Health and Education, it goes deeply in the collective psyche. Your view (that we will all have forgotten in two years time) is no doubt Newman's game plan too. But this is a game-changer.
And more locally; can you for a moment imagine King (a last minute substitute for the hated Freebody) or the Trout getting a second term? Because of Newman's SE centric majority, they have been rendered an impotent waste of space.

Jethro said...

Anonymous, no it won't. The cuts will have well and truly had their consequences by then. Fires out of control in rural areas, ambulances ramped up in hospitals, longer waiting times for hospital surgery etc. Then longer waiting times for public services.

Anonymous said...

Jethro, it would be tragic if we had a massive series of bushfires similar to what happened in Victoria 2009. Newman's cutbacks will make the situation even far worse.
