CRIME STATISTICS OUT - TROUT SAYS ONE THING, KING SAYS ANOTHER, POLICE HAVE A THIRD VIEW - SO WHO'S "OFF THE RESERVATION"?

THE CAIRNS REGIONAL COUNCIL OF SEVEN MENTAL DWARFS
A party in power as the government of the day generally tightly controls the flow of information and the "message" delivered to the public.  It's a way of manipulating the electorate, and when you've got a Cueball MacKenzie in your pocket it can be a useful tool.

So it's a mystery why our pollies are telling such differing tales about the newly-released crime statistics for Cairns, and MacKenzie is entertaining his growing list of kookery from the racist public.

On the surface the statistics would look to be a win for the LNP.  With the Cairns crime rate almost equal of that in Central Brisbane, the period covered is mostly on Anna Bligh's watch.  No government could turn around such a trend so quickly.  And while of course Joh Bjelke Newman has blamed the soft courts and weak sentencing for the crime problem, he COULD have passed laws to fix these issues when he first came into office.  Instead he rammed thru laws against gay marriage and pay increases for his backbenchers.  This wouldn't seem to bode well for the long-term health of the LNP, however.

But what kind of rube is Michael "Backhoe" Trout, saying on the the Cueball hour yesterday morning that crime is on the decline in Cairns?  Didn't he get the memo?  And Gavin "Don't Rape Me" King weighed in with a completely opposite view, claiming that the figures from Cape York skew the Cairns figures because they "have higher incidents (sic) of crime".  That may be true, with the Cape figures affected by the Trout family criminals - with Backhoe's two brothers both being convicts, a range of drug and major property crimes being unusual in the Cape.

And King has done bugger-all about the major crime initiative he promised outside the hospital.  The smokers are still there, dickhead.  Too hard for you?

With his term as commissioner coming to an end, Bob Atkinson's penchant for police secrecy and other failures look like they may be crumbling as well.  The new police commissioner has reversed an Atkinson policy, which will soon see open availability of policing information to the public in a detailed internet form.  This blog has long decried the police secrecy - with daily published police activities the norm around the world.  And Atkinson, who's overseen declining physical and intellectual standards for new police recruits, has seen this stupidity backfire as these new recruits are now preyed on, being seen by many in the community as weak and timid kids with guns they won't use.  This has led to a massive increase in assaults on constables, who seem unable to defend themselves.  Atkinson's departure can only be a positive for the community.

And while of course Joh Bjelke Newman has blamed the soft courts and weak sentencing for the crime problem, he could have passed laws to fix that when he first came into office.  Instead he rammed thru laws against gay marriage.  Newman's priorities clearly are different than those of the citizenry.

Cueball MacKenzie continued his squawking and shrieking on the issue this morning, claiming that even the Newman government hard-line policing in the CBD wasn't working (surprise?).  He shared a report he received from women who had been subjected to the most vile abuse and verbal assault in the CBD - however this abuse could have easily come from a Gavin King-led "Leadership Forum".

Then one of the 300 hillbilly callers came up with what Cueball said was "an interesting solution" to the CBD problem.  Chris proposed that "certain people would have to pay for a day ticket" to enter the CBD.  He then listed those that would be exempt from this CBD toll - business owners, shoppers, cruise ship arrivals, those with legitimate business.  Is it any surprise the "certain people" were our aboriginal brothers & sisters?

It will be exciting to hear if this new plan will be embraced by Mayor Sleepy and his Seven Mental Dwarfs.

You really have to wonder at the mentality of people like this "Chris" dickhead. Has he ever heard of the word "freedom" and does he understand it? Does he understand that democracies are where people can go where they want to? If fuckwits like this get in charge, then it wouldnt take long and we would all need special "passes" to go anywhere outside our homes with absolute freedom of movement restricted to only the elite.

FFS, King can't even get a no brainer light weight policy like banning smoking at the Hospital door completed.

He is too busy pissing his pants on his Facebook page about Bligh this and Pitt that.

Get off Facebook you lazy moron and get to work...and not on CRC issues either you dimwit.

Trout may be a dill too, but at least he is a likeable enough lad with enough smarts to keep his mouth shut.

King is so out of his depth making promises around town big noting himself and he can't follow through on a single one.

The dickhead LNP ditched skills programs that were getting young people into work. WHat has happened, unemployment went up...crime went up. Do the math King you clown...or get Grasso to do it for you if you are too stupid he seems to be good with getting numbers.

King is shrieking "crisis" all this AM. This after shrieking "crisis" about the hospital all day yesterday.

Both the direct responsibility of the Member, Gavin King.

It's time MacKenzie start flogging King for his abject failures.

Someone is fudging the stats on crime occurrences. Easy enough to do. I doubt we would ever know the truth, a bit like the real unemployment statistic or the waiting lists at the Base Hospital.

Perhaps the top performing category for Far North in this years stats appears to be in prostitution offences where we are the only region in Qld not to record a single prostitution offence last year! This easily beat Central Region which was runner-up with 11. Another category where we were better behaved than the Qld average was public urination.

Not a single prostitution offence? Oh wow, see what a decent, moralistic society we have become since Newman was elected? (That is what LNP supporters would be saying of course.) So since there is no prostitution there won't be any graft monies to tempt the cops a la Terry Lewis, will there? Yeah KitchenSlut, you wonder why those stats were left out.
