SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER

Oh Hillbilly forgive me,
as I have sinned.
I voted for that arsehole King,
and now we have nothing but spin.

If I had my time over,

with a "sigh",
I would have voted
Anna Bligh

To think what all

she had done,
But we all know now -
that King's dumb, and also a fake
Oh Hillbilly please forgive,
as he takes the cake

(Oh Pearlie please, set it to music!  You can sing it to your new neighbours, your court-ordered friends now set to live with you in Wangetti!  Guess Gavin "Don't Rape Me" King didn't like your singing after all!)

I predict Pearl will be singing a new song, full of very high notes, shortly, as the yellow crazy ants make their relentless way across Cairns. I hear tell they are already in Bungalow, and on the march. The Cairns Post story today has its facts all belly-up. The Newman Government has cut back on a lot of Biosecurity Queensland's funding, and sacked many DPI staff. As the Chairman of the Wet Tropics authority said, it will cost us a hell of a lot more in the future to eradicate the crazy ants if we don't tackle them now. This is the exact sort of stuff-up the LNP do. To penny pinch a few dollars now, in order to get a "surplus" budget, they cause massive problems in the future. King, if you are reading this, remember the old adage,
A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE.

Look at the highway overpasses I'm building for you. Look at the highway widening and new bridge at Edmonton. Look at the new foreshore development I opened. Look at the new hospital development...... You ride high on the efforts of your predecessors but in actual fact you are a dud and the suckers who voted for you are hopefully bright enough to know better next time around.

wanking cannot read but is unbeatable at stealing other peoples thunder.ie. Desley Boyle which is something the next member for Cairns wont be able to do because wanking will get us SFA

Real nice to know we face a mass infestation of crazy ants and a real threat of tuberculosis. This could be King's legacy to us all, since it is him and his government sacking all the front line staff and cutting government services.

To those that voted for Gavin King - this man by his own admission failed to pay his car registration on time, and when pulled over by the police on Mulgrave Road, some months later, and was fined on the spot, and his plates taken, blamed his forgetfulness on his then 1 yr old daughter.

Now who voted for this idiot!!

You got what you voted for...an idiot!!!!!

FROM CRYSTAL BALL GAZER

AUGUST 2014....
The State Election is in full swing and pundits are predicting a huge backlash against the incumbent Newman Liberal/Country Party.
Premier Newman has indicated he is abandoning the seat of Ashgrove where it is expected that Labor's Kate Jones will comfortably regain her seat. The LNP Executive have announced that Newman will be contesting an inner Brisbane safe LNP seat.
All eyes are on the Electorate of Cairns, where embattled sitting Member, Gavin King, faces a tough challenge from Solicitor, Nat Graham for the ALP. Opinion Polling consistently gives King an approval rating of less than 10% making him the most vulnerable Northern LNP Member in the coming election.
Issues facing the beleaguered Member involve the spread of the yellow crazy ant throughout the district causing havoc with crops in the region and causing blindness in domestic pets and farm stock. Mr King is further blamed for his part in quashing the Cairns Entertainment Precinct and the ensuing delays by the current Cairns Regional Council over building a new performing arts theatre. Anger mounted at the recent Regional Childrens Eisteddfod when many children were forced to stand in the rain outside the overcrowded Civic Theatre, waiting to perform and one young child was injured while walking into the Theatre.. Residents are quick to point out that Mr King, as the Member, has not achieved anything for Cairns since his election. "Well, he did get us a bus-stop, just the one," said an obvious disgruntled Mr Jethro Clambutt of Earlville. "He failed to deliver on getting Priority One for the Base Hospital, for funds for the redevelopment of the CBD, he failed on everything. He's been a dud of an MP."
However, the increase in tuberculosis through the region has also been blamed on Mr King and the Newman Government. Several people have died in the past couple of years from MDR-TB and XMDR-TB at the Base Hospital.
Lastly, local Doctors have expressed grave fears at the emergence of polio in some of the shanty towns which have sprung up along the banks of the Barron River and point to the Newman Government's "three strikes you're out" policy on government housing which has resulted in squallid living conditions and the emergence of dangerous contagion.
Said Councillor Rob Pyne of the Cairns Regional Council, "There's just terrible things happening, things that we never ever saw here before, like the emergence of polio, terrible shanty towns, people dying from tuberculosis and crazy ants throughout the Botanical Gardens and along the Cairns foreshore."

i went to the opening of Cairns Ports upgraded facility last night. Ken Chapman and Desley Boyle would cringe. Brett Muller - that ridiculous Katter groupie and boof head - and Gavin King did the opening. No acknowledgement of Chapman. No acknowledgement of the previous State Government who actually paid for it. The lack of generosity to the people who had made the development happen was sad and pathetic.

King even had the temerity to suggest that the 1.6kilometre linked foreshore pathway was now complete - so nothing more needed for Cairns being his very clear inference. What a difference a serious entertainment complex would have made. Even last night that elephant in the room was palpable and the hostility to King obvious.

wanking will go ,it is only a matter of time. newman is in shut down with his FOI laws, the lads on the back bench have him on the ropes only a matter of time see ya wanking

King's audacity and arrogance never ceases to amaze me. He arrived here well after the first stage of the esplanade re-development had been completed, thanks to Desley Boyle getting the enormous funding it required. Our hideous, stinking mudflats were transformed into an area of great beauty and the Labor Government spent millions on it. Then, King sneeringly writes that "Labor has done nothing for Cairns" and repeats that throughout his election campaign. He next plays his part in getting the final stage of the re-development, the Entertainment Precinct, scuttled, leaving Cairns and region with no museum and a rapidly deteriorating, inadequate community theatre. He sneers at advice that community groups had been lobbying for such community facilities for decades and viciously infers it was only a "monument to an ego" of the then Mayors. Then, when the second stage of the esplanade re-development is completed, up he pops and officially opens it, and brazenly declares that all the work on the esplanade re-development is now finished.
You bet there were some very angry people there last night. And angry people all over town.

Gavin King opportunistic, clueless, narcissistic, craven and by now...... surely ashamed and self- loathing. Townsville is now in poll position for their grand version of the entertainment precinct - which the Cant-Do government and idiot Council killed off with ignorant glee coz it suited their local-yokel vision......they are suspicious of the yartz and if they want some - golly gee they can fly south for a long weekend...........Thanks for nothing Gavin one term don't rape me King and we haven't forgotten the bucks lost for CBD upgrade either. Why money has just flown out of the north since Gav and his mates rode into town on their scooters.

Crystal Ball Gazer's frightening future scenario for Cairns and region may not be as far fetched as it would first seem on reading. Newman has slashed and axed funding and positions in both Queensland Health and BioSecurity.
We havent just opened the door wider to the threat of tuberculosis, but also allowing the spread of the crazy ant and any other pest which comes into port or airport. The LNP in their single mindedness to "reduce the bloated bureaucracy" are leaving us wide open to greater risk. We should all be alarmed.

Went last night to see "Sunset Boulevarde" presented by Willoughby Theatre Coy. at the Chatswood, Sydney, entertainment centre "The Concorse". Linda Carew the co-ordinator of Cairns CEP also worked on this development. What a fantastic community centre and with Roger Woodward performing in the smaller concert hall the precinct was buzzing with locals enjoying a night out. Restaurants, coffee outlets, bars and a feeling of pride from all who attended. Shame Mayor Manning and Gavin King. (Next time you and the misses go south, check out a show at Chatswood and feel bad that you caused the demise of a similar precinct for our City.

Anonymous said...

Manning and his wife are probably already booked to go and see "Sunset Boulevarde" in Sydney.

Well said Tom Riddle. There were good reasons for Bligh's so called "bloated bureaucracy" which the LNP have conveniently overlooked. Queensland's population almost doubled in the period 1980 to 2010 necessitating a commensurate growth in the public services. Secondly, we saw an enormous growth in international air travel in that period which opened up our State to previously unknown dangers from diseases and pests. Preventive defences such as the establishment of BioSecurity offices had to be implemented. We are left wide open to risk when these defences are removed. The LNP are gambling with our safety. Jethro, you are correct. "A stitch in time, does save nine."

Just had a wander around the new Esplanade development -lovely artworks in place but the huge shed looks hopeless -why would any "big end" restaurant want to open there when the existing ones further down are struggling? The children's play area was popular but nothing for the adults -the area reminded me of Federation Square in the middle of winter -a huge expanse of concrete but nothing happening (and the toilets were locked!)and of course no Theatre in sight,

Well, if it fails, King can take the blame for it. Only fair since he has taken the credit for it. But he will probably blame Labor, as he is still doing after 7 months of inaction.

By the way, whatever happened to Peabody's Waterworld ? It keeps being announced by the CP's resident "business editor" , but all those "WE HATE VAL SCHIER" FaceBook wankers are apparently not interested in investing in this fantastc project...Even the Chinese aren't intersted.

The Art Minister"s position is looking more shaky by the day too. Another incompetent, shameless seat warmer on the way out. I hope her overpaid, underqualified kid gets sacked too. Apparently the poor lad is sufferng from depression. I'm sure he is being looked afer well at tax payer's expense.

The reduction in the public service will certainly have unplanned consequences Tom Riddle. The LNP appear to be so involved in getting that surplus budget that they are unaware of the possible social and environmental disasters which can occur. I see we have a Government which is obsessive about the "AAA" rating, at the expense of all else.

A number of Councillors also attended the opening of the Ports North Facility. I was totally taken aback when I saw how two of our Councillors were dressed. Both Max (Lets sell the Cairns Racetrack) O'Halloran and John (I'm no Mug) Schilling were dressed in shorths and thongs. They both acted as though they looked smart and were very pround of themselves. They just proved to me that they are bloody Hillbillies. They showed absolutely no respect for the position that they have been elected.

I was counting on a bureaucrat led recovery. I've never met a public servant who was anything less than caring, conscientious and fabulously well qualified to fix the world's problems with creative thinking. Bad, bad, naughty Campbell. Smacky smacky.

Anonymous said...

A nice bit of sucky sucky sarcasm loaded with ignorance there Septic Boil. Those public servants you are dissing are the ones who have kept Queensland pest and disease free, for a start.

A "big end" restaurant would have had its success guaranteed had the Entertainment Precinct gone ahead.

Haven't read anything more about this "Safe Pathways" group which has won the bootcamp tender for Cairns. Anyone else know anything about them?

Anonymous said...

Good pick up Loose Change. QLD government giving the go ahead for council tenders to be awarded based on being local (ie mates) even if a total rip off for ratepayers.

Anonymous said...

I reckon I'd be be backing the bureaucrats Septic because the lazy no hopers that pass for politicians in this state are pure crap and couldn't organise a root in a brothel.

Rumour has it Gavin King is banning people from his facebook page who do not kiss his stinky feet. Dished it out year after year but the weakling coward cannot take any correction to his lies.

Yeah Anonymous 07.54 above, Ive been in to have a gander at King's Facebook page, and people are giving him a good serve alright. Its nice to be loved I guess.

wanking can only dish it out when surrounded by his tool mates like brasso and moller but when fronted he shits his pants .word on the street is mackenzie was sent on leave by a phone call to his boss from southern lnp to stop wanking calling him and bagging fed lnp ie stench and making a dick of himself as both seats look to be in big trouble

Tom Riddle said...

wanking is in trouble, thats obvious and he's done it all by himself. Put me money on it, King is a oncer. We wil know if stench is in trouble as he will announce his resignation or cite "family" again before the next election is called. stench knew he was going to lose against Kevin07 and WorkChoices. Frankly though I just dunno bout the Federal seat.

Jethro, safe pathways are ITEC reborn, they lost their contract delivering job training or something because they were useless. No one has heard of them because they have never done anything. How the fuck does this useless govt think a useless organisation can deliver the Boot camp.Dig deeper and you will find LNP membership for sure. Every organisation that was shortlisted were a bunch of usless pricks and in favor with this pleb govt. This boot camp will be a failure of grand scale and we will never know about it because childrens criminal records are sealed, wait for the BS success stories.

Jethro said...

Thanks Anonymous 22.04. I have only faint memories of ITEC as an employment "service provider" or some such garbage. Yeah mate I know that when something is privatised but dependent on government monies, the statistics and results are all fudged. There is no accountability and its money for nothing and your chicks for free. Bewdy hey! Ive got no doubts there will be all sorts of bullshit "success" stories of how juvenile criminals were turned into Jesus loving genteel kitten carers after going through their program. Here we go.

Bob R. said...

I would hedge the Federal seat is up for grabs Tom Riddle. Abbott is no longer flavour of the month and Gillard has romped back into public favour. Queensland has just seen the biggest mass sacking of workers ever in Australian history under an arch conservative Government. Whether its the spread of the yellow crazy ant, the spread of t.b., hospitals being overcrowded with aged care patients tossed out of nursing homes by Newman, or huge delays in government offices because of staffing cuts, by the time the Federal election comes around, the consequences of Newmans actions will be hurting hard. Every Queenslander will be affected in some way. Its not hard to predict that the voters of Leichhardt will not want to see Abbott do a Newman act, federally.

Vi L. Schumm said...

Re boot camps, is there any evidence that they actually work? A quick search turns up evidence that they can be harmful; see
1 http://voices.yahoo.com/the-dangers-boot-camp-6950210.html
and

In a classic report in Perspectives on Psychological Science (vol 2, p 53) Scott Lilienfeld of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, details a number of therapies which evidence suggests are harmful. These include well-known lemons such as rebirthing therapy, recovered memory therapy and facilitated communication, which supposedly allows children with severe developmental disorders to communicate. But they also include mainstream approaches such as boot camps for youths with conduct problems, Drug Abuse and Resistance Education (DARE) and Scared Straight, which aims to frighten adolescents away from a life of crime by exposing them to prison.

This is not to argue that there is no need for juvenile crime prevention, but we need evidence-based approaches.
