IS SENILITY OVERTAKING JOHN MACKENZIE'S PEA BRAIN?

This morning.  John "Cueball" MacKenzie, ignorantly says "Cairns Post was late today, I don't know what happened".

IT'S EDITED IN BRISBANE AND PRINTED IN TOWNSVILLE, DICKHEAD!

Wonder we got it at all with the weather. Gavin managed to get it relocated in Townsville along with our performing arts centre.

I wonder if King didn't have some sway with News Limited when he did that stint in Brisbane, telling tales on staff back in Cairns and putting in a submission on how to save money by combining the Cairns Post with the Townsville Daily Bulletin. Did he do this as a "quid pro quo" deal? He got the job back in Cairns as Editor at Large and a special page to promote himself, week after week. Then did he do a below the table deal with Campbell Newman on the funding for the Entertainment Precinct so he could try and get a portfolio??
I don't know and I'm only speculating, but King has clearly demonstrated he is calculating, underhand, duplicitous and ambitious.

I used to get it every day once. It was always there at the nearby servo early in the mornings. These days it isn't there early, so I don't bother buying it. I wonder if sales are plummeting?

Yes -we can expect plenty of bad weather now Gavin King is Cairn's state rep.
If only the dickhead voters had realised what was in store.

The more i listen to his stupid fucked out voice and the pure shit that cums out of it, the more i want to put a sander on that fucking bald ugly head and make him swallow his microphone.

There is no doubt he did a deal to save himself and his glove puppets.

I notice the online comments on The Cairns Post website still haven't been updated since Saturday.

When you once considered yourself the King of the (Cairns) Airwaves, it must be so troubling to see your small ageing audience evaporating before your very eyes. Most of Mackenzie's audience are already in the cemetery with only an ever-decreasing bunch of old diehards fine-tuning their wireless dial to 4CA each day. Even that it transmits on the AM band tells you it's a yester-year anachronism; irrelevant and done for. No wonder Mackenzie is losing it. I have sometimes wondered if this blog is counter-productive by inflating Mackenzie's self-importance, and how much better it might be to simply never speak his name allowing he and his vile little program to just slip away into obscurity.

Perhaps it really is now time to refocus HBW on to the political hillbillies and cronies, and to leave Macca to sink into obscurity. This blog may ironically be giving him a level of importance that actually keeps him going! There are more important priorities for this suffering region and they are not being addressed by the "old" media.

Cueball won't say anything bad about the Cairns Post. Every morning he sits at a table in Villa Romano eating his free breakfast marking and circling stories in the CP with a red pen. These markings then become the issues Cueball raises/ discusses on his program that morning. Charlie

here here t asquith i dont buy the cns post dont listen to cueball and voted against king im only updated here we give them too much blog space

Totaly agree T Asquith ,its either show him up or totally ingnore, the programme gets some air play leading into a council election because no other format covers it other than the Cairns Post who balanced it up somewhat. It had no impact on state as swing hear was less than state average.

T. Asquith, I believe it important that he get some of his own medicine back and that we need to keep tabs on what he is saying. For example the other week, he was contradicting The Cairns Post editorial which clearly stated that politics had played a part in the Entertainment Precinct being cancelled. Mackenzie said on air, "Oh what rubbish, there was no politics involved. THE PEOPLE said THEY didn't want it because it would be too costly." Already this slimy oily snake is throwing all the blame onto "the people" and divesting himself of any blame. This is what he does. In time, when the pressure starts building up again for a new performing arts theatre, extensions to the Convention Centre etc and people start mumbling about what a loss the Entertainment Precinct was, Mackenzie will tell amazed Mexicans, "Oh the people of Cairns were ringing my program all the time saying it would be a white elephant or a monument to an ego."

So the local news content of The Cairns Post has deteriorated; the paper is increasingly made up of infotainment type stories and they can't even be bothered keeping the comments section updated. All goes to show what they think of Cairns.

Did you expect cue-ball to say something intelligent?

The thing I hate about mckenzie is everything is a crisis.Crime increases,it is a crisis, call in the army.People notice crocs more than usual,it is a crisis(I saw 2 at Brampston beach recently)Born and bred in this area no one in their right mind would swim in the Baron but some idiot the other day said he did as a boy.And lets keep mackenzies private life out of it.If he chooses to go to Asia for his holidays then that is his business(until he is caught).

jim-bob snr said...

It's all Mackenzie has now locally, crime and crocs. He's been ranting about crime ever since he arrived in Cairns. It's been as constant on his program as his breathing. Politically, he does have one last woman standing, so he will be gearing up the hate campaign and whipping Shorty, Pearl and Raj into a frothing frenzy, any time soon. Oh and yes, Mackenzie is now turning the loss of the Entertainment Precinct to the people of Cairns and exonerating himself from any blame. This is his modus operandi. Should there be any major incident at the old and decrepit Civic Theatre, he will lecture the people of Cairns, the Council for "not doing something previously" about it. Not that I am suggesting he would go down hard on someone like Manning, but if it was another Mayor, say Rob Pyne got up next Council Election, Mackenzie would be ripping it into Rob Pyne. Mackenzie is the ultimate despicable grub who manipulates the gullible and dullards in our community.

I keep saying the reason Townsville is a go ahead city is because they don't have a Mackenzie dribbling on about crime etc. and in doing so running this City and it's tourism potential downhill. Move on cue ball.

If the Townsville printing press broke down and there was no Cairns Post, Courier Mail or Australian would he then just play music?

King has lost us the Entertainment Precinct, he's lost us funding and staff for the Base Hospital after he went to the election promising to get Tier One funding, he has lost us the funding for the CBD revitalisation, he's lost us the police regional office status and despite all his outrageous statements about "dredging the inlet", he is now talking that down on the Mackenzie program. On top of this he has lost a couple of hundred people their public service jobs. He has been a disaster for Cairns, but there is more to come yet. Round Three of King's slash and burn policies are to start later this year. School nurses have been sacked, so what else is planned for the schools? I can tell you that people in the Education Department fear for the worst. They've already got King's measure. "He's giving Cairns the arse while pissing in Newman's pocket" said someone.

Jethro said...

Now, now ron. Don't be too cynical. I did meet up with a middle aged cove over at Cazaly's just a few months back who tried to convince me he only went to Thailand for the "religious experience - all those temples and things."

What despicable conversation between shorty and Mckenzie today on a groupe of people reduced to what he saw by alcohol nicotine and homelessness. And then open up on athorties doing the best they can with their limited resources.Wouldn't it have been good to hear shorty say hey John why can't we as a society do better than this.Instead we got the negative.

Anonymous said...

wtf did you say Shanghai, you like polishing cueballs head, and King takes it up the date and you feel like taking a bog in space.

Tony Hillier said...

Second Anonymous, perish the thought! Cueball's idea of music [sic] is John Laws croaking out country & western songs.

Bazza said...

mackenzie is now trying to use the itinerants as a reason to put traffic thru CBD. The stupid pricks out there who believe this wanker are obviously the sad right wingers, no community input just all for themselves and ego's.

Good 'ol country music. Queensland opera for hillbillies.

Thanks for the excerpt from Cairns.com, HBW. Love the Shitrag's "apology" for late deliveries because it's no longer the Cairns Post.

There's enough spin there to suggest that it was probably written by Cyclone Nick Dolton.

Get it right; "The delivery of the Cairnsville Post was late today ... "

The cairns post has always been dodgy siding on the side of Developers and real estate agents as they pay for most advertising. Investigative journalism from the cairns post has been non existant for the 17 years I have lived in cairns and I cannot see any improvement rather a rapid decline into obscurity.

Some interesting letters in this weekends Cairns Post. I see where one of Kings previously most ardent supporters whose name I won't mention has lambasted King for his lack of achievements. Others point out the hypocracy of preaching getting tough on crime while severely curtailing monies in the justice and prison systems. The public are becoming disallusioned after all the high falutin promises of the LNP during the election have failed to materialise.

Anonymous said...

Lets face it.The Cairns post is a news summary of the Courier mail which is a summary of a real news paper, being The Australian. My budgie loves the cairns post, especially when king is on the front page.Thats the bit I leave turned up for him to aim at with his backside from his perch.

The history of Cairns and Townsville over the past few years is a veritable Tale of Two Cities. While the latter has seemingly gone ahead in leap and bounds, Cairns appears to have taken two steps backwards. It's time for a REAL leader — one with vitality and vision — to step forward before the rot renders Cairns a terminal case!

Anonymous said...

Yes Mr Barfly ... bring back the visionary Kevin Bryne.
He will get this city humming again.
Look at the number of big companies that went belly up in Cairns after VAL said developers were not welcome in Cairns.
Yes - bring back KB and our kids wont need to go to Brisbane looking for work!

Mick said...

What a crock of shit! They were going guts up long before Val Schier was elected! Their greed had got the better of them long before that! Even KB couldn't save his own arse.

Tony Hillier said...

Anonymous 11:15 - The only visionary local to be in a position of power answers to the name of Val. The self-serving Kevin "Bryne" did this city no favours!

Jethro said...

Hmmm Anonymous, 11.15 are you talking about those companies which over-leveraged hey? Built million dollar units which they couldn't sell and made bad offshore investments. Kev Byrne couldn't save those people. You need to learn a bit more of the world and grow out of your school kid idea of heroes and villains. Fool.

When is the Hillbilly gonna write on City Place, and expose the dynamics that have led Gavin King and Richie Bates to champion its destruction.

Who are the dark forces behind this move?

Who's got the money?

Wazza Entsch isn't buying any. Andree Stevens from the Cairns Post isn't buying any.

Geoff Holland, DJ Hunt, Denis Walls, Jeffrey Ruffino, and a dozen others are organising a rally for Valentine's Day.

What does Hillbilly Watch have to say about it all?

Anonymous said...

KB was the worst thing that ever happened to this city. When he was caught red handed (as the civic leader) at one of his wife's real estate seminar's it proved beyond any doubt where his priorities lay.He and his mates thought they could turn this city into something akin to a suburb of Melbourne when in fact it is and always will be a small regional city surrounded by cane fields, crocs and bad drivers.A big Port Douglas.Townsville is becoming the capital of FNQ,the current government is re-enforcing that view with money while DH's here, the pearls and mackenzie's do their best to talk the pollies out of any money we are offered.

Anonymous said...

Pearl has found a new project to oppose, the Port Douglas lagoon. All Pearl cares about is her rates. Expect to hear a lot more from that goose before the de-amalgamation referendum. I don't think it would make any sense for Port Douglas to go it alone, but if it means that Pearl will keep her beak out of CRC business, I say, go right ahead !

Anonymous said...

If the federal government gave 1 million smackaroos to CRC to build a monument to pearl she would hound and sing songs on the mackenzie program complaining that it was a plot and that someone would have to pay the up keep on it.Can you imagine waking up next to pearl every morning. You would bite your arm off!
