After famously losing his Council seat to a 22 year old WOMAN (the SHAME!!), calling female Cairns councillors "witches and bitches" on the Cueball radio show for imposing conditions on his waterpark proposal, being dis-endorsed by Joh Bjelke Newman for threats against our female Prime Minister, and having a family associated with a still-active "We Hate Val Schier" Facebook page, you'd think a smart man would have changed his name to Jeffrey Dahmer and moved elsewhere. Any investor in a Freebody scheme would be shocked at the image this family has managed to garner.
But no, the Freebody's are at it again, this week again offering to sell their "Five Star Carwash Cafe". And again the offer is replete with conditions that many purchasers would find onerous, like the "leaseback" situation. Potential purchasers would also be put off about Freebody's previous tactics including the secret recording of LNP officials - a "get square" that misfired badly for Freebody.
This troubled car wash business has seen operators come and go, with this "great idea" stymied by the fact that Cairns isn't the kind of town where people fork out $30 for what they can do themselves. And with copies of the business records floating around town since August of 2006, many seasoned business operators have looked, and passed.
We're assured it's "environmentally friendly" - which is disputed by residents on Reservoir Road who can't understand why he's allowed to illegally park a truck with advertising on the street, blocking their view of oncoming traffic.
While Freebody continues to assure Cairns that we'll get a waterpark "as soon as I can tick all the boxes", another year gone with no watermark underscores the difficulty of being in business with Paul Freebody. Reports continue that he's planning another tilt at politics - witches and bitches be damned.
