Rugnut has lost his marbles! What a rude prick!

Poor old sleepy Grandpa Manning, he should retire and let someone with energy and vision take over.

This would be hysterical if it wasn't so tragic.

Gavin King was complaining about the ALP and Unions "push polling" about privatisation. This is the LNP and "push broadcasting". Get some talk show host, have him continue to call the same list of disgruntled and angry listeners, and away you go!

Bob Manning. What a rube. Does he ask Macca how high to jump, too?

ruby said...

Erm, what happened here? I wasn't listening to the show.

Mackenzie: We've just been told we have the Mayor, Bob Manning on the line. Now Bob what do you have to report?
Mannning: What? Heeey? No, you rang me!!
ROFL DANCE MANNING DANCE!

It just shows how contrived this "show" is. The other day McKenzie gave the deputy aMayor a blast, because he basically endorsed the traffic changes in McLeod and Grafton St.that have been implemented under the previous council. Mckenzie is obviously under pressure from some of his sponsors who have businesses there. In the meantime his offsider had been ringing up all the regular whingers and , surprise, surprise, one after the other called to give Terry a hard time about creating one lane sections in those streets, including the Chinese Heritage trail. (Another Schier council initiative that Manning and King shamelessly took credit for.)On this occasion Rugnut tried to tie in Manning's phone call with King's self promotion hour. I think it was meant to sound as if Manning had been closely following the "debate" about Newman wanting to override councils and start culling bats. This failed spectacularly, because Manning had been in a council meeting and sounded like he just woke up, thoroughly irritated and confused. The city is in good hands...

This city is not in good hands. It is in the hands of a useless old man feeding his superannuation, an ego maniac feeding his ego and counsellors feeding their lips around the useless old mans dick...

IT SAYS IT ALL, DOESN'T IT?
Report to your Master, Manning, when he asks, or else!!
How the tide has turned.

I once met John Mackenzie at the Cairns show. He seemed like such a nice chap. I don't understand why all the hate for this gentleman. Some of the things I have read on this website border on slander of his good name. Maybe the owner of this website could contact John via his email address which is freely available on the internet to discuss their grievances with the content of his show. John seems to be a reasonable bloke who would give anyone a Fair go!

Anon...22.44 Did he give the former mayor val schier a fair go? You must have missed the abuse he poured on her for so long.

Really Anonymous?? Have you ever tried to phone his crap program with a different point of view? I did back in 2003 when I tried to point out to him that ALL the weapons inspectors in Iraq, from Scott Ritter to Hans Blix ALL said Saddam HAD NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. I was just about deafened by his abusive reply and cut rudely off. Then have you ever noticed how he won't have any Labor politician or Labor representative on his show either? His program is all political propaganda for the one political party.

If the bats are removed from the city where do you think they would go? There are lots of trees around James/Macleod sts -maybe Macca would end up with them in his own backyard! Karma.
I personally think the whole idea of moving these creatures is utterly insane- they are part of the Cairns landscape and removal for what -just to placate a few hotel owners? and how on earth are they going to move them on anyway?? Loud noises and bright lights may work for a while (as happened in Charters Towers)-but can you imagine the hotel guests putting up with that?
BTW tourists LOVE the bats. I have been asked where they are by tourists walking on the Esplanade. One man told me they had come from the UK especially to see these bats in their natural environment. Cando has no business butting in to this local issue and I haven't even mentioned crocodiles!!

Just thought some of your more "one eyed Labor supporters" that express profanities and abuse on this blog would like to know this from todays Australian.

"Popular support for Queensland's Liberal National Party has surged, with voters also more satisfied with Premier Campbell Newman, a Newspoll has found.

The poll, published in The Australian on Saturday, found the LNP recorded a primary vote of 49 per cent between January and March, up seven percentage points from the previous quarter.

Labor, by contrast, dropped four points to 27 per cent of the primary vote."

You met him ONCE anon: 22:44? from that meeting you formed the opinion he's a nice guy? Have you ever listened to his "show"? LOL!!!!

Anonymous said...

Hey, Hoof Hearted, it's from The Australian newspaper..the great one-eyed conservative rag!

ROFL The "poll" in The Australian. What a joke! It was like a "poll" The Australian conducted last year sometime revealing that "women really liked Tony Abbott". The "poll" stated some 200 women in Sydney had been contacted. So from a mere 200 (if it was even that) they made this fantastic conclusion that Abbott was really liked by women. ROFL I tend to think some Murdoch journo made the entire article up and there was no poll whatsoever.

Hoof Hearted, dear chap, the Qld Newspoll was not positive for the ALP however as has been pointed out by some knowledgable people appears to contain methodological flaws at state level.

I may be wrong but as I understand it the Newspoll state data is aggregated over a period of time from their regular national polling for Rupert's Australian Polemicist. The national polling itself doesn't provide a valid sample at state level unless aggregated. So it doesn't particularly provide any relevant poll at any point in time.

It has been noted that the Newspoll result of 3% for KAP is simply unrealistic. Newspoll don't reveal specific detail of methodology so it has been suggested that their polling questions may be valid nationally for the purpose but flawed for Qld.

Together Megapoll with a very large sample size have posted graphics of their polling in Brisbane with KAP higher than the Newspoll for Qld before the regions are even considered.

Newspoll is designed as a national poll so be wary of how state data derived from it is represented.

The poll was probably invented to help Tony Abbott sell off the ABC and SBS to Murdoch if he becomes Prime Minister in September, viz:
"Well, look at Campbell Newman, he has become very popular since he privatised hospitals and so on in Queensland. People really approve of privatisation".

KitchenSlut said...

Anonymous: Let me be clear that the conspiracy theories surrounding Newspoll have become bizarre!

Persons here of a leftish persuasion believe it a conspiracy! Similarly when there was a poll rebound for ALP last year the lunatic blog commentators at Andrew Bolt went off like a pork chop that Newspoll was a communist conspiracy!

The national Newspoll is over-rated but sound! The state derivative may or may not be correct but should otherwise be regarded with caution :-P

Whatever, KitchenSlut, these polls are political propaganda tactics, nothing more. Their main purpose is to sway over those Aussies who love a winner. Swinging voters are very susceptible to the mainstream media.

Back to the bats. Surely the simplest solution to the bat 'problem' would be to leave them where they are outside the Library, as they are surely a tourist attraction. Then remove the 10 or 12 car parking spaces and small length of pavement below the bat-tree, & extend the garden to the edge of the road.
Thus there will be problems with bats pooing on cars, pedestrians can walk on the other side of the road, & the tourists are happy with their bat photos.
The whole issue is a knee-jerk from Slasher Newman to look caring of his communities. Ha !!
Whilst the death of the young boy from lissavirus the other week was very sad, those things happen in life.
Both swimming pools and cars cause many more deaths of young children each year, yet neither Slasher or Boring Bob (Manning) are suggesting we ban pools & cars.
