AS CAIRNS COUNCIL AND LNP BACKFLIPS ANGER VOTERS, NEW STRATEGY TO "BLAME THE PUBLIC SERVANTS" UNVEILED

The failures and fuck-ups by the LNP and Cairns Non-Regional Council are now coming thick and fast, as they struggle to meet the demands of an increasingly agitated public.

Cueball MacKenzie continued this strategy during his weekly Channel Seven rant.  In a report on the Unboot Uncamp dropped into a residential neighbourhood in Kuranda, MacKenzie never once breathed the names "Gavin King", or "Michael Trout", or "Jarrod Bleijie" despite the fact that they are responsible for this cock-up.

Instead came the new strategy -  BLAME THE PUBLIC SERVANTS!

Continued implementation of environmental overlays?  BLAME THE PUBLIC SERVANTS!
Crocs still here?  BLAME THE PUBLIC SERVANTS!
Palm trees removed?  KILL THE PUBLIC SERVANTS!
No dredging in the port?  BLAME THE PUBLIC SERVANTS!

On last Friday, George Karagiannis got Greeked by Council as Terry James confirmed that Grafton Street was going to receive the same layout as MacLeod Street.  This the judgement of the "public servants" and supported by the FACTS.  Because you see, the real name for "public servants" is "governmental professionals".  In this case, traffic engineers quietly and factually made their case and the Councillors have agreed.  That's what PROFESSIONALS are for.  Council overrules or disregards the recommendation of PROFESSIONALS at their own peril.

Even Gavin "Don't Rape Me" King jumped into the act, attacking the "public servants" at Council for taking a stand against his caffeine-addled idea to put a crappy-looking "Gateway to the Reef" sign at the gateway to a swimming pool.  Even as he was attacking the "public servants" who recommended shit-canning the idea, Council was voting to shit-can the idea.  That's what happens when you pretend you're the Mayor and fail to consult with anyone.

Then the stand-by callers jumped into the fray, with Martin "Psycho" Tenni (who now claims over 1000 crocs are now in the Barron River), insisting all the "communist, socialist" public servants hired by the ALP should be thrown out on their arse.  Karin "Pearl Necklace" Pollard then started attacks on the lefties in the new Douglas Shire Council - even though there is NO DSC council yet!

Gavin King in particular is said to be especially prickly -
KURANDA RESIDENTS VOTING TO
PUT KING AND TROUT INTO A POLLIE
BOOT CAMP
appearing at a Queensland Fire Service event as well as new Disabled Housing ribbon-cutting, and then trying unsuccessfully to take credit for these two ALP projects ordered and paid for long ago.  And his attacks on the Member for Mulgrave are now being seen by the community as childish and juvenile.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to defend the local LNP members and do-nothing Cairns Non-Regional Council as the problems continue to grow and fester.  King and Trout have already gone to ground while Council sends talking puppets out to speak to the media.

=====================

And it would look like the exodus of local news is continuing, with the 4CA newsreader today reporting a school fire in "Makins Beach".

Of course, King is blaming public servants. We know what he thinks of them.

Heard today that Terry James is going to China on another rate-payer funded trade mission. What a crock of shit. We already have state and federal tourist departments as well as TTNQ. What happened to keeping the rates at a static level? Good luck getting re-elected Terry.

The boot camp got an absolute bollicking today. A lady called Nathalie, with extensive experience on the subject, calmly and clearly demolished the whole fiasco as an exercise in futility and a waste of money. Did Mckenzie get King on and ask him some hard questions ? Of course he didn't. He was allowed to um and ah about the ban on fishing on the wharf, flashing lights at schools, public housing ( not a word about what they will do with evicted tenants, blaming bleeding heart "lefties" instead for even daring to raise this issue), blaming Labor again and again for everything under the sun, but in 15 minutes of waffle, NOT A WORD about the bootcamp. What a pair of soft cxxxs !!!

This blaming of public servants has been going on for a while. McKenzie works himself into a frenzy every day ( supported by the regulars, including Bev, hi Bev, we now all know that you read this blog !)about the "greenie ratbags" in the department of environment. The fact is that the LNP have a massive majority and if they can't control their departments they only have themselves to blame.

Has Gavin King ever actually MET a public servant? And has he got the guts to contact the Council Traffice Engineers to put a case, Seems like he doesn't have what it takes to criticise the Council itself.

Well done HBW -I too was gob smacked at Mackenzie on Ch 7 and was astonished at his non-mention of the local LNP members. Imagine if Val had been involved!

Anonymous said...

Anyone who believe in Lord Monckton like Terry does is full of shit. How did we end up with all those backward, self-serving weirdos? Even freeloding Paul is on the junket to try and flog his watermark to the Chinese...

Anonymous said...

Along with McKenzie on Ch 7 last night was the story about Terry James going to China. But guess who else is going along - Paul Freebody, looking for Chinese investors for his waterpark! I wonder who is footing his bill?

Compared to other countries Aus has weathered the gfc and the complications that came with it pretty well. In our own peace of paradise we have to forge out an existence at the same time accept and deal with the fact we are living in a city with a dysfunctional council mayored by an old tired man with no vision or spine, lnp members that lie, cheat and steal and areas of the media that endorse the rubbish they espouse or refuse to report the truth. the reporter and the dirty old man mkenzie said a lot about Val sheir and desley boyle. At least val and desley engaged the people and made things happened for everyone.

the council, the lnp grubs, mkenzie and the cairns post have done so much damage to this region it may never recover

When you put your public servants off-side, they start to set you up and make you look stupid. Won't be hard to do with this lot.

I laughed today walking through town. My business had to go through all the rigmarole to get a sticker for the A-frame sign we display outside our shop. Gavin now has one outside his new office with no sticker! Perhaps no one is visiting him since he moved as there is no other signage. Not sure what was wrong with his old office that had, I understand, a couple of years left on the lease.

Anonymous said...

WTF Shanghai, i heard them mention China.

Anonymous said...

Due to 20 years of labour neglect and the incompetence of the previous green-communist council the old office was full of rats and other vermin. There might even have been bugs planted by those fabian socialist bleeding heart do-gooders. The new office only houses one rat, the Rat King. Besides they had to put all the new chairs ,that the Newman government spent several hundred thousand dollars on ,somewhere. Plus it got wheelchair access so the former fascist minister for local brown bags can be wheeled in to vomit his bile all over Gav's spew resistant, 100% synthetic carpet. Kill the bats, kill the crocs, don't you worry about that !

What is happening HBW? There is no love and trust being shown to the Hillbillies by Cueball, Gavein and Mannering. Since the Elections, not one Promise, not one bit of Infrastructure, not one Plan has been delivered. They have made themselves feel good by talking up heaps of ideas and projects but nothing is happening to make the Hillbillies happy and now there is bad blood flowing amongst the elected LNP Members. Nothing but a huge injection of cash by the LNP Government into a meaningful project in Cairns will stop this blood flow. Charlie.

Anonymous said...

Sack Cueball before he destroys our city and region. Listen up 4CA and Channel 7. You are private sector, so tell him to fuck off and to destroy another community, perhaps in Siberia or North Korea, but not here.

Bob R. said...

When he isn't blaming the public servants, or the ALP, King is blaming "Brisbane" like he did with the "crocodile committee" where there is not one single North Queensland member. Blame, blame, blame, whinge, whinge, whine, all evidence of King's own ineffectiveness and limp dicker.

Anonymous said...

Can't you just picture Freedbody amongst the hordes and hordes of people from all over the world, running to the Chinese for "investment monies"??

Anonymous said...

Since the CRC 'PROFESSIONALS' have playground sitting in shed because they can't find a place to put it here despite being shown numerous suitable sites, I have well founded doubts about them. This is issue has been a clear cut case of political will and administrative won't, and if other projects are handled the same way I would be very wary of their advice. As I have sated before I have dealt with SOME very obstructive and in some cases incompetent Public Servants and those ones deserve to be outed and shamed, especially considering what they earn

Tony Hillier said...

I trust Peabody isn't on a Council-funded junket to China to peddle his Waterworld extravaganza.

You don't have to look far to see the drop in Council services. There is an essential traffic sign near Whitfield SS that has been grafittied for months now and nothing has been done. That is one of many defaced or missing signs that haven't been attended to. Now that staff and services have been what is the clueless manning and blake doing with our rates? Tripping off on a China junket?

JETHRO said...

Seriously, you wonder at the naivete of people like Freebody. Doesn't he understand that hundreds of thousands of people would be jostling in a huge congaline of obsequious, fawning suck-holes (thanks, Mark Latham) after Chinese money? Chances are his project would be lost in the mire of the great hordes trying to sell their own ideas and investment opportunities to the Chinese. Yes, I wonder if it is a ratepayer funded junket for Freebody as well.

After abusing the shit out of administrative clerks within State Health, nurses are now coming under enormous pressure within our state hospitals. Having to answer phones, process paperwork, do data entry, look after the stores and stock ordering etc. It won't be long before patients and relatives start whinging and whining about poor patient treatment. I predict the poor nurses will cop the abuse at first, but eventually will trickle through to the local LNP members who are responsible for this fiasco.

Alison Alloway said...

Well said ruby. The LNP demonised public servants immediately after they won their landslide election victory. During the campaign however, Campbell Newman appeared in television ads saying, "Public servants need not fear me." When Newman announced that 14,000 public servants were to go, the LNP swung into a hate campaign against public servants. Rugnut's talk back program had people phoning in claiming they personally knew of all these bludgers who "did nothing all day long" and so on. It was typical of the divide and conquer mentality of the LNP so that the community did not rise in utter outrage. So the abuse of public servants still goes on by the elected LNP representatives, like Gavin King. Meanwhile in the hospitals, the shit is starting to hit the fan, so to say. No nurse can be in two places at once.

Liz said...

So the abuse of public servants still goes on. LNP voters will suck it all up. I'm worried about what is going to happen to the nurses who will be hard pressed having to do admin work plus nursing. I can see they will cop complaints and abuse from angry patients and relatives, especially LNP people. I predict stress and anxiety will rise causing such a toxic environment that many will leave their profession, causing even more stress behind them. Newman wants a list of all union delegates in Queensland Health, so the unions will be effectively muzzled. We're heading straight into a disaster as sure as a Category 5 cyclone bearing right down on us. I'm wondering if all of this isn't deliberate however, to deliberately put unrealistic pressure on the medical and nursing staff so that health care deteriorates so much that the public will welcome full privatisation of our hosital system. It wouldn't surprise me as the LNP have demonstrated they have no understanding of "duty of care" to the people they are supposed to serve.

Anonymous said...

there is no duty and there is no care. newman, the rat king, hide the backhoe, sleepy throb man (bob man) and the dickophants and un sir bob let me lend attorney general bliejle a helicopter to look for boot houses from the air have all been great at deceiving the public and lining their pockets and the pockets of their lnp faithful. the majority are sucker punched by the weakness of those in charge. lest not forget the whinging stench

Liz I fear you are right -we are being readied for the Fed LNP privatisation of all Health Services.

Even Mckenzie labeled the Non-Boot cam a WHITE ELEPHANT today.

But will he apply the blowtorch to King ? No, of course not.

He preceded instead to scrape the absolute bottom of the barrel by allowing the increasingly de-hinged former Minister to yell and scream at the deputy Mayor for pursuing the poor guy who illegally demolished the Rex Theatre.

James correctly pointed out that the guy might well have gotten permission to do the job, if he had asked first, instead of just going ahead and that you can't just willy nilly pull down building without a permit, regardless if the building has heritage value or not.

Not good enough for for that ranting lunatic. On and on he went. I suppose in the good old Joh days that would have just been fixed with a brown paper bag.

I think someone should put a brown paper bag over the poor fool's head and leave it there...

TAS said...

I wonder if the Hon Member for Mckenzie is across this one:
At a resident's/relatives meeting at Glenmead Village Age-Care facility yesterday, it was announced by Uniting Care management that resident numbers are to be reduced from the present 180 to 120. Until that lower number is achieved, no new residents will be admitted.
As resident numbers reduce, firstly one wing will be mothballed, followed by a second.
One of the reason given for the downsizing is the ongoing inability to obtain and retain the services of carers/nursing staff. Not surprising when you note the pay scale for the people undertaking this this most difficult and demanding essential service. Bunnings is an attractive alternative
If this also typifies the situation at other Cairns nursing homes, the number of nursing home places available for our elderly in need of full-time care is about to be massively reduced. The ramifications of this on the Cairns Base Hospital are also going to be massive. Bed blocking, already a huge problem due lack of nursing homes places, is about to get a whole lot worse.
The short-term-ism of a government which values Triple-A ratings above the welfare of its citizens is about to have terrible - and inevitable - consequences.

May the former minister for brown paper bags be the first one to suffer from the Newman cut backs.

ruby said...

TAS, it is already happening. One thing which happens with predicatable regularity in our world is that people age and then we die. It doesn't stop just because the LNP want to get a AAA rating. We also have a rapidly ageing population with our massive baby boomer generation, entering their twilight years. The reasons given by Glenmead about not being able to get nursing staff is just bullshit. My sister worked there for years. The staff turnover was high largely because of overwork and poor management.

In the god old days when our local politicians tpok responsibility for their own actions, they stood in front of the community - often packs of rabid dogs whipped into a frenzy by the media and other lnp toadies - and explained their decisions.

Today every decision that has an adverse impact (and isn't that all of themn?) on people's lives or the well-being of the community is explained and rationalised by A PUBLIC SERVANT!

Gobshite hides behind the skirts of PUBLIC SERVANTS because he doesn't have the cojones to do it himself.

It's pathetic, really. And it's also noticeable, especially in its health coverage, how his toadies in the Compost never ask him the hard questions, they head straight for a PUBLIC SERVANT for an answer.

THey know which side their bread is buttered on, don't you worry about that!

JETHRO said...

You are correct Anon No 4. Labor politicians did stand in front of the community to explain their actions, whether it was a supportive crowd or an angry crowd. It is in fact what politicians are PAID to do. They swear an oath on taking office, to "represent their constituents without FEAR or favour." The local LNP representatives have all displayed cowardice in not facing the many community demonstrations against the Newman Government's cutbacks. They have in fact, breached their oath of office and are therefore not fit to be members of parliament.

Anonymous said...

Extract from LNP Handbook for Members:

EXCUSES

1. Blame the ALP
2. Blame the Unions
3. Blame any female community leader, preferably ALP or Greens
4. Blame "Brisbane"
5. Say you were not told.
6. Blame the public servants.

Anonymous said...

You;re not wrong there Jethro old bean. King, Trout etc are not fit to be Members of Parliament.
They are breaching their Oath of Office in:

1. Not personally attending and addressing protest crowds.

2. Getting a talk-back radio host to screen out any negative or critical questions from their constituents when they are there to answer questions.

Both of these indicate the LNP members are too frightened of conflict with their constituents.

They therefore do not represent their constituents "without fear".
They lack the necessary cojones to be proper representatives.

How can the Compost be shamed into covering the Boot Camp fiasco?

Latest news on Queensland Health is that Health Minister, Lawrence Springborg is threatening the sack to any member of Queensland Health who ticks they "like" a certain facebook page. The story is on page 17 or thereabouts of this weekends Courier Mail. The article has been reposted on the facebook site "Gavin King, this is what I want to tell you."

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the headsup on that Facebook page Ruby. I'm sure that, like myself, a lot of public servants would like to join the group but the risk of retribution is too great.

Anonymous 20.39, you can try writing a letter into "The Editor" of the compost, but don't hold your breath thinking it would be published. The LNP have a tight control over the Compost.

Can anyone provide any comment on what these gutless lnp swine have done for their area or their constituents? It's one of the only jobs that exist in the modern area where there is no accountability. It is disgusting to think our city and region is being damaged by the dysfunction of the liars who said they would represent the people.

Newman looks after Brisbane and the fukin idiots up here look after their own interests.

Anon No.4 said...

Anyone intending to make anti-lnp comment to the compost in any way shape or form - including responding to Compost surveys or talking to reporters for "interviews" - needs to think very seriously about whether their personal details might be handed over to the lnp. This particularly applies to public servants.

I wonder what song they will be playing as a memorial to the current LNP leadershit?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 19.22, "paranoia is palpable". I wonder why that is? Could it be because the LNP are behaving like jack booted fascists? Every day brings more sackings of government employees.

Bob R. said...

Not only is "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" receiving a popular revival in the UK, but the crowds are out cheering madly that the woman who introduced neo-liberalism, free market capitalism and globalism to Britain is dead at last. As the Poms are all saying, her funeral should be outsourced to private enterprise and the cheapest tender given. Most people agree that 50p for a box of matches is good enough for Thatcher, the champion of privatisation.

Anonymous said...

TAS, I agree. The drastic cutbacks and loss of staff, including the fact that Cairns and Hinterland will not be taking on any graduate nursing intake this year, as well as losing a large number of admin staff are going to cause terrible consequences in our hospitals. Newman has closed so many state run aged peoples homes, and axed so many Home and Community Care Services, that this will cause a huge increase on available beds in the hospitals system.

Seth said...

"Paranoia is palpable". Yes, who can blame people. Queensland has entered a new political era as essentially a one party State. With no opposition the LNP are revealing their true colours, demonstrating contempt for the aged, the disabled, the poor and the wage earner. Their contempt extends to the State's essential service workers who have been shown no appreciation or support whatsoever by the LNP in their ruthless frenzy of sackings. There is no duty of care or recognition by the LNP that they are elected to serve the people. The LNP have become the servants of the global financiers and are running the State of Queensland as a business only, with the only objective of making a "profit". They no longer act like a government, but a corporation in accordance with neo-liberalism. Like all corporations, the LNP hold customer service in contempt and abuse their workforce. Like TAS above, I predict we are rapidly heading towards some sort of terrible meltdown.

JETHRO said...

But it will all be the fault of those damned "public servants" Seth!!!

John S. said...

You're spot on there Seth. The LNP are running Queensland like it is a corporation, there for profits and pickings only and stuff the people. Yeah our hospitals are on target to run straight as an arrow into meltdown specially if tuberculosis starts growing or there is another contagion of Asian flu or whatever.

"The drastic cutbacks and loss of staff, including the fact that Cairns and Hinterland will not be taking on any graduate nursing intake this year"

Why should they! You can get 457 visa holders with a 4 year degree, who have years of experience! Thank God for the LNP!

Tony Hillier said...

Anonymous 19:11 you're right of course. Major 'Can Do' is cold-blooded enough to have the boats blown out of the water! A man cut from the same right-wing cloth as Margaret Thatcher, who callously dispatched the Belgrano and its crew to Davey Jones' Locker.

Anonymous said...

If Abbott is elected, we can expect to be flooded with 457 Visa Holders. Murdoch and Gina Rinehart have made their support for increasing 457 Visa workers very clear. I expect that is what Newman has in mind for our hospitals system, to replace the current staff with Asian or African 457 Visa Holders who will all work for a far cheaper wage.
