We've noticed the quarterly announcements by Paul "Witches and Bitches" Freebody, Managing Director of Adventure Waters P/L claiming that his
We earlier reported on the closure of the offices in the Trilogy. And today we hear thru the grapevine that demands have been made on the company for return of $150,000 in grant money given for the development and seemingly unaccounted for by the company. After Freebody's world-class backstab on the Queensland LNP machine when they dumped his preselection for the seat of Cairns, apparently some in the LNP haven't forgotten their divine right to "get square".
Can I get an Amen?
It's also known that Paul & Kim Freebody have listed their luxurious Koppen Terrace home for sale "by tender" with offers between $990,000 and $1,280,000. This is substantially below the last listing for the Freebody home, which looked for offers "above $1,650,000".
The nail in the waterpark coffin seems to have come in the form of an insider at Council. Private Council talks with Chinese investor Tony Fung on his $3B Yorkey's Knob project indicated that the Fung project will include a world-class waterpark, making the Freebody effort redundant and unnecessary. Freebody was given this heads-up by a Council insider.
So far just the "rumours" of the Yorkey's Knob project have struck fear into the developers of an aquarium in the Cairns CBD, and now the same rumours have killed the local effort at a waterpark.
If we can get the Chinese to build a Town Square and a world-class Entertainment Precinct (likely if this is to be a world-class casino destination), we'll have little reason to upgrade the CBD as it will be superfluous to our needs.
Here's hoping everyone is brushing up on their Mandarin.
