CASH-STRAPPED QLD GOVERNMENT'S "THREE WISE MEN" OF THE LNP ANNOUNCE IDIOTIC SPLURGE TO CELEBRATE BIRTH OF NEW FOREIGN PRINCE

With Queensland's economy struggling as the result of LNP sackings, Cairns CBD rapidly becoming a ghost town, and Joh Bjelke Newman continuing to gut vital services, Queenslanders were shocked at the cash splash for the new royal baby announced today from Brisbane.

In a Joint Statement from the "Three Kings of the LNP" Newman, Springborg, and Bleijie, a raft of gifts to rival The Price is Right will be sent not just to the royal bub, but to many lucky Queensland breeders - along with their $5,000 federal baby bonus.

Queensland will send a "commemorative boxed medallion" (shown here) to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with all the other useless shit people are sending one of the wealthiest families in the world.  Replicas of the medallion will also be awarded to all babies born in Queensland on 22 July.

But wait, there's more. All 2013 Queensland bubs will get special commemorative birth certificates along with a "Buy One, Get One Free" at all participating Hungry Jack's.

AG Jerrold Bleijie confirmed that a raft of government buildings would be lit up special in celebration, including Parliament House, Wheel of Brisbane, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, along with bridges in and around Brisbane.  With electricity rate rises of over 22% recently, Bleijie said to reporters 'who cares, it's you fuckers that pay the government's electric bill'.

Newman also suggested a "major civic building" might be named after the new Prince - leading suggestion is the "Clem 7 - Prince "Hungry Jack" Bankrupt Tunnel".

Member for Cairns Gavin "Don't Rape Me" King had no comment from his rathole.

Thanks to Loose Change for the heads up. .

Giving a new born baby a Hungry Jack voucher is a great idea. You can't start them on the path to obesity soon enough. What a bunch of royal wankers . The LNP fiddles while QLD burns...

It's only fair that all public servants that were shafted be given that same commemorative medallion to remind them of the day their lives and those of their family changed.

Question: How many days since Gavin King said something relevant to Cairns - let alone his Assistant Tourism portfolio for which he collects extra $$$.

What value has Cairns, let alone Queensland, accrued from his work as Assistant Minister for Tourism?

This government is a joke and so many LNP member are taking taxpayers for a ride.

Sickening bunch of crooks and shafters. I see where they are sacking more nurses while they spruik about bringing back Guy Fawkes Day. Old Joh would be rolling in his grave at that one.

McKenzie in the meantime tackled important issues. Proposed speed limits for the CBD caused him to burst into a violent anti council rant. He mentioned "the previous dysfunctional council" at least 15 times. Will he get up old Bob when he is in next time ? I doubt it. All the usual suspects rang on cue, spitting bile and chips. And lo and behold there was Kevvie, just back from PNG, to put the boot in. What a coincidence. Hope he didn't walk across to Daru Island. That was the next topic as one caller after the other called in to voice their concern about "those people, those criminals, those queue jumpers, those muslim terrorists" who will be invading Cairns by the thousands. Even Pearl chipped in. She is an expert on the subject, because she was up North a hundred years ago and you could see PNG from where she was standing, that's how close it was ! Another joker mentioned that PNG people are very fond of their pigs and that would cause problems with those muslim terrorist queue jumpers. Entsch whipped up some more hysteria as well. No one mentioned that Abbot actually supports Rudd's policy and has no solution of his own except for "turning back the boats". But that's talk back for you. Pander to the lowest common denominator and push the agenda of your sponsors, including political ones and the hell with the truth, any form of balanced debate or any factual reporting. What a load of shit. Please let someone younger with a balanced and open mind take over this rotten, outdated crap program.

Have to admit that is a beautiful medallion. The artist has captured exquisitely the very essence of the Qld Government.

What a shame we no longer have an art award to give them.

Just one more bludger on the list of poor bastards borne with a silver spoon up his butt. And the world goes into a frenzy as if they invented birth. Newman jumping in on the band wagon is simply PR at it's worst. Bring on the Republic..... Anononymous, re Mackenzie LNP Radio Show, you're spot on.

No doubt about the tories. They had reds under the bed in the 50s and 60s and everyone who disagreed with them was a "commie". Today they have the hordes of terrorist muslims coming to murder them in their beds.

Not unusual for the LNP to use fear and smear. Entsch is trying to get people so worked up with fear for their very lives that they will rush down to the polls and vote for him as some sort of gladiator who will save them from the teeming hordes on our door stop. We saw that used successfully in the State Election where Newman had people convinced that widespread starvation and collapse of industry and commerce was imminent. So people were sucked in and now we see on a weekly basis more and more people losing their jobs while more and more privatisation is going on.
The fear factor is a successful political tool.

The LNP thrive on creating emotionalism and hysteria. They are deliberately invoking fear over the PNG agreement as a diversion from what is happening right now in Queensland. Today,(Wednesday) nurses are protesting the Newman Governments decision to replace hundreds of experienced nurses with young, inexperienced graduates. Newman calls it "refreshing the workforce." This is a major travesty of workers rights, and will have a huge impact on the quality of our health care. Word on the grapevine is that the Newman Government are also considering "refreshing" the Education Department by replacing teachers. This action by the Newman Government will have a deleterious and perhaps even fatal impact on so many of us Queenslanders. The likes of John Mackenzie, Gavin King, Michael Trout, David Kempton and Warren Entsch will do everything they can to play this down with the voting public. Hence the hysteria currently being generated over the PNG agreement with asylum seekers.
It is politics at its filthiest.

Alison, this is all about getting rid of unions in health and education so that health and education can be completely privatised. You can bet your bottom dollar the young graduates will have to sign agreements that they don't join a union. Both the Nurses Union and the Teachers Union are pretty powerful unions with plenty of clout, so it would e logical that the LNP get rid of the unions before they completely privatise our hospitals and schools. Im sorry for the nurses and the teachers who will be so unceremoniously chucked out of their professions and Im also dreading the thought of getting sick or injured and facing young inexperienced nurses.

you're right again Alison. Mackenzie is riding the asylum seekers in PNG issue for as high as he can. The Cairns Post will soon come on board with all sorts of unsubstantiated hyperbole
so that the uneducated and gullible will believe they are in imminent danger of having their throats cut while they sleep in their beds. Yes I see where nurses have been protesting losing their jobs in Brisbane today and also where Newman is going to sack another 400 people plus in the information technology field of government. We must be now getting close to 25,000 people, at the very least, sacked under the Newman Government. Getting rid of the middle aged nurses throughout the State will add a few more thousand to the numbers of unemployed. Im worried about the quality of nursing care. There can be no doubts that people will die as a result of throwing out the experienced nurses.

You got it right again there Alison. However there are another 400 people in the IT side of government about to get the arse also. The sackings just continue week after week. Hence the LNP using good old Macca to incite the rednecks and dickheads into hysteria.

I see where todays Cairns Post has come into it now, talking about Rudd's PNG agreement and raising fear over "the borders". Nothing from The Cairns Post about the nurses losing their jobs.

The Cairns Post won't write anything very negative of the LNP State Government, Jethro. Newman is sacking people every week, outsourcing government functions, putting workers on three month contracts and demolishing government functions. They are transforming the role of government from a provider of services for the people to a provider of wealth for private corporations.
