CATFIGHT BREAKS OUT BETWEEN CAMPBELL NEWMAN AND JOHN MACKENZIE - NEWMAN FINALLY ADMITS HE DOESN'T CONTROL LNP AGENDA, WITH RE-ELECTION MORE IMPORTANT THAN FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND CRYBABIES

Premier Joh Bjelke Newman was "set-up" by John MacKenzie on Wednesday's talk show, and sadly for him took the bait and spat the dummy.

Knowing full well that Newman was scheduled for an interview at 11:30, Cueball put on the line "Chris in Edmonton" (Chris Long), an ex-QPS officer, to hurl stinkbombs at the Premier and Gavin King - all while Newman was queued up listening to the shit being dumped on him with the encouragement of MacKenzie.  Newman had no idea that the call wasn't fair dinkum and that he was being ambushed.  This is a well-known tactic MacKenzie uses - get the hillbilly callers to conduct the attack, and let them cop the results.

It backfired magnificently on ol' Cueball, with both him and Newman spouting statements that both would very much to have back, and each attempting to out-filibuster the other.

The entire episode is attached below for your listening pleasure. . . .

WE DO NOT HEAR PEOPLE IN CAIRNS
STANDING UP FOR THEMSELVES

Suffice to say Newman made big news as he was cornered for his government's inability to get control of the youth crime problems.  His response to the so-called "do-gooders" who don't want youth criminals jailed?  Cairns residents must write letters to the Brisbane newspapers to voice their opinions which he freely admits are different than what Cueball routinely calls the "elitist southeast corner Chardonnay set".   Newman than says this issue is the same as bats, and the same as crocs. . . and then stunningly says he can't do anything for Cairns unless WE (the public) convince the voters and media in southeast Queensland!  Apparently the job is to tough for him and he expects OTHERS to do the heavy lifting!

At HBW, we don't recall the electoral process requiring both voting, and then a letter-writing campaign afterwards.  This sounds more like backtracking politicians blaming US for THEIR incompetence and inaction.

Newman's most stunning statement:

"I hold a (sic) inner city seat in Brisbane, and many of my (LNP) colleagues hold such seats.  And I can tell you now - they probably don't like the idea of crocs being culled.  Or bats being culled.  They probably think there SHOULD be alcohol management bans in aboriginal communities.  They probably feel there shouldn't be any development on Cape York, it should all be a World Heritage area.  Do you understand?  Am I making myself clear?"

We understand completely, Campbell.  Even your own LNP colleagues agree this right-wing, looney hillbilly agenda set by John MacKenzie is idiotic.  You can't even sell this agenda to your own colleagues that elected you LEADER, much less convincing the public service who have to carry out your right-wing ratbaggery.  The Queensland Government is more rudderless by the day - BY YOUR OWN ADMISSIONS!

And when the community takes a whack at your stumbling, bumbling approach to government, you rant like a baby with a shitty nappy.

You owe Cairns and Chris Long an apology, mate.  Macca's got fewer and fewer voices to draw on (another "regular" hillbilly caller, this week, one Phil Crockford - indicted and charged with Making Child Exploitation Material and Distribution of Child Exploitation Material).

Or do your inner city LNP colleagues approve of this, too?

An ex-copper came on 4CA and tipped a bucket of shit over King and the LNP in regards to law and order issues. Campbell was due to come on next and caught the last bit of the conversation. When he came on he was absolutely furious and said that people in FNQ should stop "shooting in an echo chamber' or something like that and accused the previous caller of having a political agenda. At that point McKenzie exploded in turn and stuck it right up Newman. A very heated discussion went on for a long time. I was hoping someone had recorded it . The transcript would make interesting reading. I wish McKenzie was as astute on other local issues. For once I wholeheartedly agreed with him. Newman's main concern is to placate voters in the SouthEast and of course there is that ongoing myth of 20 years of Labor mismanagement. Well, weren't the LNP going to fix all that ? Bootcamp ? What bootcamp ?

One is compelled to ask why the premier of Queensland wastes his precious time on an anachronistic radio station, addressing such a small and rabid listening audience, when he could be talking to infinitely more punters via the airwaves of ABC Far North. Is it to ensure that his local LNP members continue to have a comfy haven for their spin doctoring?

Perhaps the LNP forgot to send Cueball his monthly cheque.

Many of the gen. Y and X LNP members won't have a bar of the likes of McKenzie and Tenni, but they have to somehow pay homage to them...what is clear is that the current lot are just as beholden to Brisbane as their much maligned predecessors. King appears on the ABC regularly, but even they do not ask the hard questions. The Cairns Post of course won't even comment on this episode...Imagine if Alan Jones had a shit fight with Abbot like this. It woud make the front pages everywhere. But then, the Cairns Post is no more than an advertising rag nowadays..

Manning today completed his backflip on the Entertainment Centre and said that it is now more or less up to Aquis to decide what Cairns needs in the way of entertainment venues and where they should be built. So where is the outrage about his monstrous lie that he would build an new theatre in his first term ?

The most disturbing thing about the catfight was Alfred E Neumman's statement that he was unhappy with the judiciary and therefore he had installed a new Chief Magistrate, a new head of QCAT and new judges - "people whom we believe will provide a new direction, who have the right values".

So he's saying he's installed his own political friends to corrupt the judicial system.

Welcome to Bjelkeworld, people.

Lets make FNQ A STATE ! Fuck these useless people off !

Claiming chinese tourism boot, what a fucking troll. If they are so efficient and amazing at making things happen so fast, how long were you elected again before this announcement, not long enough to support your claim you fucking gnome. You proved you are a useless buck passing wanker and our local reps should be voted out because they clearly are not able to send our messages to parliament so you will listen. Talk about feathering ones own nest, call the Brisbane media write to them so we don't lose votes in Brisbane, fuck off muppet start listening to the local reps or face the consequences. And your super boot camp, laughable, no programs developed and no staff left, care to challenge this, I dare you as I have evidence to the contrary. You have again appointed a loser liberal organisation and again you have been caught short.

We need to be a separate state or a Territory as we will never get the policy's that we need here while the Premier is scared of being voted out of his own electorate.

Anonymous said...

A Premier who doesn't want to upset his inner city colleagues over croc culling, bat culling?? That's what he said.

Anonymous said...

19:33 bullshit what he was saying is if he doesn't listen to his electorate he will be voted out.

This wasn't a cat fight, it is free advertising for the lnp and Mackenzie let it flow on.
Mackenzie is responsible for much of the situation that cairns is in because of his association with those who want to take this area into a crap over developed blackhole with no respect for the real community. yep Mackenzie took it up the arse from his choice of a so called premier.

9.37 Cueball offloads. Finally. Dumb arse Newman spits about the previous government being in for the last 20 years and doing nothing about crime in Cairns. He seems to have forgotten the Borbidge years. I know we have all forgotten the Borbidge years by choice but what is HIS excuse? Sadly we won't forget the King/Newman years because they have so right royally fucked up Queensland we will never ever forget. Bring on the election.

Notice he uses the word "probably" twice. So he has such little regard for the people of FNQ that he won't even actually ask his colleagues if they have an opinion of these issues. Time FNQ was made into a new State/Territory.

Bazza has it right. This wasn't a bloody catfight as you called it HBW. It was nothing but usual publicity for the LNP. Rugnut has done this sort of thing before, phoned some unsuspecting flunky and got them to spew their guts out on air while an LNP person is listening and waiting and then through a staged so called hard hitting interview gotten the LNP fascist, in this case, Newman, to debunk all the complaints. Rugnut is in the LNPs pay pocket so his only role is to promote, excuse and cover up for the LNP. Take the whole episode with a big dose of salts mate and wise up to yourself.

Anonymous said...

Well said there NYM. One thing which always gets up my craw though is the way the LNP always conveniently forget about the BORBIDGE LNP GOVERNMENT. Why do they keep on saying Labor ruled for 20 years for? Over and over they tell this outrageous fucken lie. Liars.

Anonymous said...

I listened to the interview and, like Tony, cannot for the life of me understand why a Premier of Queensland would bother with the ex-Rugnut. Forgive me but is the general thrust that if we do away with alcohol management plans then indigenous people can slowly drink themselves to death in their communities rather than bother us in Cairns where their children are stealing cars from uninsured pensioners?

Campbell actually made a great point...he doesn't know what is happening in FNQ.....what a sad indictment of our local members who continually fail to advocate for the people they have been elected to represent

Tony Hillier said...

The tenor of Newman's conversation with MacKenzie was not only that he doesn't really know what's happening here in the far north, but that he doesn't really care! His is a Brisbane-centric government. Having such ineffective representatives in State parliament doesn't help the situation. The sooner Rob Pyne rolls King and becomes the member for Cairns, the better off local residents will be. As a local government councillor, Pyne eschews self-serving interests (apart from admirably advocating for the handicapped) in favour of properly representing his constituents — a point lost on many of today's so-called politicians, who see standing for government simply as a generously renumerated meal ticket.

Tony Hillbillier is a sanctimonious twat. Get over yourself and your lack of life achievements. Rob Pyne in opposition would be a disaster for Cairns andas effective as Pitt in Opposition, ie, not very.

Anonymous said...

No doubt Hillbilly will have quite a lot to say about why Cairns shouldn't ever have someone like Rob Pyne to represent the city. I look forward to reading his psychotic rants.

Anonymous said...

Hillbilly will agree with you Anonymous above, we all know that.

Anonymous said...

Pyne would be as useful as a rubber crowbar.....

Vi L. Schumm said...

Let's cut out the personal attacks on Tony Hillier and accept that he is right about the lack of effective representation in Cairns.

Anonymous said...

Anyone who steps up to the podium will be attacked. It's the way Cairns has become since the LNP found that being relentlessly negative and engaging in vitriolic attacks are highly successful politically. The punters out there love it and suck it up like lollywater.

Anonymous said...

Could Rob Pyne's new aspiring member for Cairns theme song be "These boots were made for walking"????
