So, the conditioning of our expectations for this project has already begun. No mega-resort which happen to include a casino amongst its many other entertaining features; just a casino. Yep, your devious plan is unfolding brilliantly Tony Fung.

So they have the casino license? Funny, we hadn't heard anything, but then our media today is completely controlled anyway. Why bother informing the public?

Yeah Im still reading where Cairns people are peeing themselves with excitement over the thousands and thousands of jobs and how much money their homes are going to be worth. Simpletons.

Where the fuck are the thousands and thousands of tradies to come from? Where the fuck will they stay?

I dont believe for one second that this huge development will ever become a reality. At best there may be a casino/hotel with promises of future resorts, golf courses, aquariums etc, etc, etc.Ask any of the golf course management if the area could sustain another course and they will either laugh at you or cry.
This whole story seems to be another weird thought bubble by a desperate premier and the silly old mayor who. so much want a good news story.I will not be surprised if nothing happens on this site until years down the track when it will become another gated housing estate.
The funny thing is i was told by an acquaintence who has an old unit at Yorkeys that the local real estate agent is telling owners in the area to increase rents by fifty dollars a week so as not to miss the flood of workers......needless to say that his unit is still empty.

Me thinks wanking has gone to ground due to the late night casino folly

Dunno how true this is, but someone on the week-end told me the Pappalardos sold the land for $22 million and they aren't to receive the money until the Government approves the development. Anyone else heard this?

Why bother informing the public? Funny how Mackenzie and King both roared away about "transparency" when Schier was talking about the Entertainment Precinct, (slyly and maliciously overlooking the fact that building such a complex was on her election platform and voters agreed by electing her).Yet the Aquis Resort development, about a hundred times bigger than the Entertainment Precinct was just suddenly thrown at the Cairns community without any prior community consultation or vote and Mackenzie is talking it up big time.

Aquis has just made a bid for all Reef Casino shares...
