HIGHLY PROMOTED "NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH" GROUP IN YORKEY'S KNOB FAILS TO IDENTIFY LOCAL DRUG TRAFFICKER

When the LNP took control in Cairns, new pollie Michael Trout was given the responsibility of setting up new "Neighbourhood Watch" organisations in suburbs right around Cairns.  While there was terrific fanfare at the outset, the public has now discovered the fatal flaw with them.

If there still is no police presence to back them up, they become merely a place for residents to meet and eat bad snags.

However the Yorkey's Knob group has this week been singled out for their failed performance as they see one of the operators of tourism business "Blazing Saddles" hauled before the court.  Again.  For trafficking dangerous drugs.  Again.

One Steven James Trout.  Brother of Michael "Hide the Backhoe" Trout.  The MP for Crime Fighting.

If he didn't have such a long criminal history would he be shuffled off to boot camp?  But hey, these Trout boys GREW UP on a boot camp, run by their daddy, Peter Trout.  They grew up with hard work on the rural Kalinga Station, just like our Million $$$ LNP Boot Camp, and grew up to be - - ratbag criminals!  Hard to understand why Peter Trout didn't question where this ratbag father of six got a backhoe, but we all love our kids, now don't we?

Steven along with his brother Luke were on 4 year good behaviour bonds, dished out by those goddamned lefty soft-on-crime judges that are now being threatened by this LNP government.  And Steven clearly didn't learn his lesson, caught now apparently for a second time in less than a year.

We await a judgement in this crime because like the bikies, Steven Trout is guilty until proven innocent.

Shouldn't they bring in "association" laws?

Oh they did!

Steven Trout pleaded GUILTY to TRAFFIKING METH in the Cairns Supreme Court today. He will be sentenced in early March. He's currently in Lotus Glen we believe. Will be interesting to see how much prominence the Compost give this story.

Bob R. said...

Erk, meth. If it was good ole ganga, I would say cut him some slack and back off. But meth is a very different kettle of fish, pardon the bad pun. Cant help but notice he isn't a big bad vicious lawless biker either, so he won't be getting the special treatment dreamed up by Newman.

ruby said...

Oh golly goodness me, he got a four year good behaviour bond, the first time, from the socialist do gooders did he? Now now while his brother the Member for Barron River was ROARING away about felons getting a "slap on the wrist" on the Mackenzie propaganda shit show. Never mind, Michael Trout, Gavin King and David Kempton, Bob Manning and John Mackenzie to the rescue, to bring law n'order, real justice to the criminal. Yes, these LNPers will see Trouty dressed in a pink oversall, flung in prison without a trial, left in isolation for 23 out of 24 hours a day and left there for 10 to 15 years. Now that'll teach him a real lesson.

I imagine Nick Dalton and The Cairns Post are shitting brickloads at the moment. They all have the script from Newman, supported by Murdoch. NO ADVERSE OR DAMAGING NEWS ABOUT THE LNP. Like Entsch's drink driving episode, The Cairns Post wouldn't have even considered any mention of it at all, until Hillbilly Watch raised it first and about half of Cairns read it. I predict Steven Trout's crime will be covered by The Cairns Post on about page 42, bottom right hand side, in a tiny para. Yes, we all know what would happen, if by chance it was a relative of an ALP member. HUGE HEADLINES ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE CAIRNS POST, a lead story on channel 7 News, and Mackenzie roaring away for weeks on end.

Anonymous said...

ABC radio reported it. McKenzie predictably ignored it. The Cairns Post didn't think it worthy of the front page. Throw the book at him, I say. Those speed producers are the scum of the earth. GODDAMN THE PUSHER MAN !

Holy hell. Not a fucken tat in sight, no leathers, no body metal. What was the LNP saying about bikers being all druggies selling drugs to our kids and so on? Yeah there would be plenty more like this character out there making and selling drugs all below the LNP radar because they ain't bikers. Christ are we living in bloody nightmare times. I hope to God voters wake up this coming election and kick this bunch of LNP loonies out of office.

I presume that cutting at the op of this post is from the actual CAIRNS POST?

NYM 0953 - what the fuck has this got to do with any political party?
he's a small time deadshit meth pusher most likely in debt to a biker connected shit head somewhere along the line. how is that related?

NYM said...

Dunno where the hell you have been these past couple of months Anonymous 12.47. The LNP State Government introduced some dictatorial legislation called VLAD in order to stop the bikers who they claimed were all about drugs and selling drugs to kids. They are picking up anyone who associates with bikers like sitting in a pub having a beer with them or women who go out with a biker. All of this was accompanied with hysteria from Newman over how bad all bikers were. So here we have a non-biker, and one actually related to an LNP politician doing what the LNP were screaming the bikers were doing. That is what it is all about.

Anonymous said...

Hasn't anyone heard the saying about he who yells the loudest? It is normally to deflect people from looking to closely at what the yeller himself is actually doing!

Why did Can't Do introduce VLAD? Because he was failing in the polls and failing with his own party!

This just proves AGAIN that bikies aren't the real issue

Anonymous said...

You hear that drugs are bad in some of the beach suburbs. I guess when the family of the local LNP member are involved, it would be bad. So much for their nice safe neighbourhoods, as HBW points out. Oh and of course the drug trade out there will only increase with a mini city built in the middle of the northern beaches with floods of international and national visitors arriving all the time.

urb said...

hi nym, i agree in part with anon 12:47 - i dont think the government thinks only bikers deal drugs do they? that he may not be related to bikers has nothing to do with it on a case by case basis. VLAD legislation is a separate issue & so is the fact he is a brother of an MP. he is a felon, the rest is irrelevant i think. cheers, urb

Ginger TheRedHeeler said...

I was going to post something similar to Anonymous 12:47. I don't believe the friends or relatives of politicians (or anyone else) should be used against them. BUT, you have all made the very, very valid point that this is exactly what our government has been busy doing. I hope Michael Trout is going to push for some proper LNP sentencing.

Anonymous said...

The fruit never falls far from the family tree urb.

Anonymous said...

Going by the LNP any one associated to bikies will be in jail because they link bikies to dealing in drugs, anyone that associates with drug dealers is guilty. So I gather Michal Trout is guilty of association.

Anonymous said...

So because he aint a biker he isn't being flung into prison, dressed in pink overalls and kept in solitary confinement for 23 hours out of 24 hours for 10 to 15 years. One law for bikers, another for people who aint. Nice to know there aint any equality before the law in Queensland any more. That is the issue here you people. It doesn't matter if you are a fucken ugly looking biker or an ugly looking MPs brother, you should be treated EQUALLY before the law and receive the same sentence for drug dealing.

JOHN MACKENZIE'S HILLBILLY WATCH said...

Ginger and others have made the same point - we now have laws that punish for mere ASSOCIATION with others. The entire Trout family should be jailed for having at least two convicted criminals in their midst. That's what the VLAD laws are all about.

The judge should jail them all!

Bob R. said...

Scares the living beeejesus out of me what the LNP extremists like Bleiijke and Newman are fucken doing to Queensland. Anyone can go out and murder a dozen people with an axe and be treated with full citizen rights, that is be seen as innocent until proven guilty, given a fair trial, and once in prison allowed to mix with others. However if you are caught having a beer in a pub alongside some bastard who just happens to be a member of an OUTLAWED bikie gang, then you're rooted. Seen as guilty until proven innocent, flung immediately into prison, dressed in pink and kept in isolation. The LNP have crossed the line from an authoritarian government into a dictatorial government.

What is even scarier is that more than every second adult you see walking down the street voted for this dictatorship. Obviously the average banana bender doesn't have democratic freedom, the environment and human rights as a high priority in their conservative lives.

ruby said...

Even more scarier Bob R. is that the average Queenslander doesn't have a clue. Ask any of them if they understand what a dictatorship means? The usual answer is, "Hitler, because he killed the Jews." Ask any of them if they understand the concept of Separation of Powers which is contained within our Federal Constitution? They don't know and more over they usually answer, "Who gives a fuck?" Finally ask any person if they understand what Bleiije means when he says he wants a Star Chamber in Queensland. The answers I have received is they all think it a good thing to have something like they do in Hollywood where the stars can leave their handprints. I kid you not! God help us.

What is it about commercial tv, printed media and especially talk back that they are getting more hysterical, exaggerate everything to a crisis point to grab readers and listeners alike. Think Mackenzie and an imaginary crisis. Cyclones that aren't really cyclones and a quick look at a radar map is proof enough that Mackay in the firing line isn't FNQ but the central QLD coast. Maybe we need a good debate in this country and cut these agents of doom down a bit so that rags like The Cairns Post and the Mackenzie program report a little more accurately.the end

Anonymous 10.47, they are following the same modus operandi as Murdoch's FOX NEWS and CNN. It pays to have the population distracted, divided or in a high emotional state. Murdoch's media is doing it very well.

Anonymous said...

Agree 15.10.As long as Mackenzie is the media spokesman for the LNP and Jones for the Libs and Fox(Murdock)news for the Republicans and 99% of Australian media there will never be balanced debate in this country because any debate that progresses this country, is a benefit to all it's citizenry must first pass all of the above and the vindictiveness they represent. Conservatives my foot. Goebbels has a lot to answer for I tell you.

It was never emphasised enough that newman did not live in Ashgrove and probably still doesn't and never had any intention of doing so, the fools who live there were the ones done over by the Murdoch media and the rest of Queensland is suffering because of them, it was never stated enough that the lnp had it worked out that the cross boundaries of federal, state, local gov intersected in Ashgrove and the local gov lnp supporters held a high majority which gave newman a win.
When the campaign started here in Cairns I had this fool mother with a feather in her akubra hat and wearing the bullshit lycra lnp coloured shirt delivering their propaganda through the neighbourhood of Stratford while her piss week husband was walking their toddlers on the bitumen road in heat of 34deg in the shade, these are the type of freeloaders that we have in gov that have no idea, and the style of their supporters, I was disgusted.
Newman and his gov have done nothing for Queenslanders who have values for each other, every time I see him sprouting he reminds of a turtle trying to swallow a plastic bag, he is gone very soon as premier and knows it and if "MOTOR MOUTH dave chris ta full of it" thinks he will be premier next I suggest he goes back to pushing paper in local gov, it aint gunna happen.

Blame, blame, blame. I take the view you can blame the media all you like, but it is the ordinary people who vote. Very very few people understand their role as a citizen. Ever since time began, the ordinary person has been an easy target for those in power to manipulate and mould to their agenda. Think of the billions who went off to war and died, and who still do. As John Lennon once asked, Suppose they gave a war and nobody came? War mongering politicians know all too well they would never have any difficulty in gathering up an army of willing bodies to be sacrificed for whatever dubious cause. So it is today, whoever has a bit of power and influence uses that over the population. Nobody gets out and puts a gun to the head of the individual person and says You must do this or else. Frankly, I accept that people don't think for themselves, are easily duped, will allow themselves to be manipulated and ultimately treated with contempt. As I said before very very few people take their role as a citizen seriously. Therein lies the insurmountable problem which is seeing our democracies weaken around the Western world. mY prediction? Australia will ultimately be ruled by an oligarchy, similar to the USA.

Bob R. I believe aspects of the VLAD legislation aren't going down too well amongst LNP supporters, or so I am hearing. However this isn't going to result in nervous backbenchers exerting pressure on the Premier and Minister to repeal or amend the legislation, as we would experience in other Parliaments when a political decision is unpopular. Newman has a huge majority and can easily afford to lose those nervous backbenchers at the next election. Public protest over this legislation has been the highest since Newman was elected, yet protest is cheap when a government has the biggest majority ever in Australian history. When the Attorney General speaks of introducing a Star Chamber, an institution historically associated with a denial of human rights into Queensland and the media shock jocks start steadily repeating that "Parliament is supreme!", all the indications are that the Newman Government intend to take Queensland further into a dictatorship.

JB said...

Intelligent analysis there Alison. I agree. I had to read up on what the hell a Star Chamber was when it was first mentioned and found it is nothing more than a kangaroo court where the monarch, or in our case, it would be the Premier and a few members of parliament, hold courts and trials in secret. Nobody is allowed a defense or to bring witnesses. Frankly it set off alarm bells in that a member of parliament in a democracy could ever mention such a thing. Yet I also heard John Mckenzie mention most emphaticaly on his program that he believed Parliament is supreme. I agree with your deduction therefore. The sound of goose stepping jackboots is getting louder in Queensland.

Off topic but I must say this. FIFO Police WTF??? Good policing is knowing the community, local knowledge and having the respect of the community. In Indigenous communities knowing the local culture and having the trust of the Elders is essential.

These LNP clowns in Brisbane know nothing about small town policing. According to what I have heard in ABC interviews today from the Police Union is that promotion is based on the number of arrests a Police Officer has on their record - not keeping the peace and reducing crime which is what small town (and metro?) policing is all about.

Vote these dickheads out

What is next - FIFO teachers?

Conservative governments have always been more authoritarian than Labor governments. I recall the conservative backlash in the 1960s and 1970s against the long haired jeans wearing teenager and the hippy culture. To have long hair was tantamount to being a left wing radical subversive out to destroy society, according to the conservatives. Many employers wouldn't employ anyone with long hair and so on. Conservatives like conformity and are by nature judgemental and suspicious of individualism. So it shouldn't surprise anyone really that an arch Conservative government such as the LNP are out to harass the tattooed population and lump them in with the bikers. Tattoos in 2014 have become what long hair was in 1968, an object of Conservative condemnation. Trouble is just like long hair became a popular fashion statement for several years, so too have tattoos surged in popularity amongst the young population. Newman has under-estimated the anger in the community over this.

Second Anonymous 19.46, what you say is sound commonsense. It takes time for any cop in a community to gain the trust and confidence of the people, but probably more so in an isolated town whether it has a white or black population. This idea of FIFO cops is bloody stupid and will probably see a lot more violence directed at the cops.

Off topic again, but my house and contents insurance is due and the bastards are not content with an almost quadrupling of the premium last year - they now want a 35% increase for the next 12 months. I live in an area that will never flood, a tsunami would never reach the house let alone a storm surge, and in 20 years I have never made a claim. I have never been broken in to yet my current insurer will now require a 'serviced security system' which will require more $$$.

King and Entsch talk endlessly about excessive premiums although they never mention that premiums are controlled by market forces - and they never mention that their own side of politics sold off the state insurance company (Borbidge) - something they prefer to forget now that LNP is in power.

Can HBW bloggers relate their success stories with getting better premiums as it is bloody hard to contact every single provider?

ANON 19.18.My heart goes out to you and I hope you find answers. When is the last time you heard the libs mention the word "GLOBALIZATION". In the end that was the catch phrase that they used to justify the sell off of Government institutions that kept costs down. Remember the GIO, both the federal and state models. Yes Labour had a go at it to but the myth that selling a public asset will lower cost is about as reliable as an mp's utterances.the end

Hearing Mackenzie now and all the whinging hand wringing bellyachers blathering on and on about high insurance costs. Queenslanders brought all this on to themselves when they voted for the anti-socialist Joh Bjelke Petersen who started the dismantling of the SGIO in 1977. Joh's claim that private enterprise is better than socialist enterprise was supported by Queenslanders in the 1974 and 1977 State Elections. So, why the whinging and bellyaching? You all got what you voted for. SGIO acted as a regulator, and ensured risk was spread all over the State equitably. Now just wait until Medibank Private, which acts as a regulator at the moment, is privatised by Tony Abbott and health insurance companies start their quest for profits. Expect to see a huge increase each year on y0ur birthday and a quadrupling of premiums if you get a serious illness. Now remember, once again you VOTED for it. So just shut the fuck up.

So he was always going to be a tough candidate to beat, a bloody tough one. Yeah I was bloody surprised hey. I see where the LNP are claiming they got a .5% swing towards them.
