LOCAL CAIRNS BLOGGER CONTINUES INVESTIGATION INTO TONY FUNG FAMILY OPERATIONS

Kudos to Cairns Blogger Kitcheslut for his continued digging into the financial affairs of one Tony "Aquis" Fung.

FUNG OVERSEAS CONNECTIONS DETAILED

ICIJ has been investigating the massive Chinese wealth parked overseas by especially Mainland Chinese - party members, their families, and military families.

"IF" a proper job of vetting Fung for a casino licence is being done, of course the Queensland Government would be well aware of these foreign account links, and which Fung would have been required to disclose.  And Fung's history extends to Zhongnanhai and the ruling elite.

You've got to wonder about the stability of a country when the leaders are all "hedging their bets" at tax-havens and secret bank accounts around the world.

As we pointed out early in the Aquis process, it is unlikely that Fung would be the sole holder of a casino licence, as they have zero experience in this field.  Look for one of the major world players (including the Las Vegas firms like Wynn, Sands, and MGM) to have operational control of a project this large.

They do need a partner, I imagine before the EOI deadline. I cannot imagine a high profile operator accepting the numbers as they are pie in the sky.... and that is an understatement. Smaller would be better for ratepayers but then the big names may not be interested.

Plan B = high rise redevelopment of the current Reef Casino site?

Indeed, we do need to investigate the people who establish casinos in our country. Remember it wasn't so long ago that the Queensland Dept of Health didn't do even a cursory background check on Dr Patel, aka "Dr Death" at Bundaberg Hospital.
Will Queensland's casinos become parking spots for wealthy and corrupt Chinese to money launder millions of dollars? If so, what will be the consequences on our economy? Anyone thought about that yet?
I don't have any confidence in those THREE AMIGOS, Gavin King, Michael Trout and David Kempton, nor Bob Manning. Or Warren Entsch for that matter. None of them seem to give a buggar about checking out the backgrounds of Chinese investors, listening to the fears of the people at Yorkeys, or whatever. All they are doing is just one sided public relations work, spruiking the so called benefits of AQUIS, but giving nothing about anything else.

Agreed Anonymous above. As I keep on saying we are seeing very poor, ineffectual leadership from the local LNP so called community leaders. Checking out Fung's bona fides should have been the very FIRST prerequisite. Instead we had the LNP all opening their big mouths up screaming away like a bunch of silly little schoolgirls spotting Justin Beiber and going hysterical. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
All up their performance was just so embarrassing.

Well done KitchenSlut whose contributions to this bog are always interesting.

Michael Trout was overheard mocking and scoffing at people who had unanswered questions about Aquis. "Oh their CONCERNS, their CONCERNS" he was heard to sneer when talking with someone. WTF???!! So much for Trout's leadership qualities. It might be sneering and scoffing now, but give it a few more years and anyone who dares to question the LNP will most likely end up in prison being tortured with tasers and starved to death.

Big Kev Byrne, the LNP local muppet manipulator was at the Civic Theatre yesterday watching the Choral Society's Phantom of the Opera. how proud he must be of his achievements as he sat in the uncomfortable seats in the overcrowded auditorium of our outdated theatre with the overworked air conditioning. The cast and orchestra did an outstanding job, despite being crammed into a tiny orchestra pit while the performers dodged each other on the limited confines of the stage.
Thanks again Kev, Bob, Warren and Gav and the faceless CRC members for throwing away the funding for a new theatre. You will be remembered for your efforts.

Thanks HBW for a little bit more information.

There is a State Government review due mid year on how local government charge for trunk infrastructure. Will be important to understand as Trout indicated we would need 20,000 houses for the expected population increase to staff the resort.

Here is the link for the government website.

I have heard members of the Choral Society and Eisteddfod Committee whinge and whine and wring their hands over the inadequacies of the Civic Theatre, but never heard any of them ever say or do anything to lobby for a new theatre. Ive long accepted that there are people in Cairns who just enjoy whinging and moaning.

NEWS TIP: Steven James TROUT is to appear before Supreme Court Justice Henry tomorrow in Cairns at 2:15 for arraignment.

That Civic Theatre is an absolute disgrace and embarrassment especially when taking overseas visitors. "Phantom" was superb, but one can only imagine how much more they could have done with a revolving stage, decent dressing rooms, larger stage (they had to extend the current one) theatre lobby with first class facilities i.e.non crowded bar and line up for the minimum toilets and only side access for disability persons to make them feel inadequate to mingle with the crowd before and at interval. Sitting on front steps and getting wet going to the car park. So backward To think Mayor Val had a development shovel ready and the hard earned funds were handed back is a slap in the face for the talent and appreciative audiences in Cairns. Where are your PROMISED plans for a new Entertainment Precinct Mr. Manning??? Cairns is waiting!!

I have said it before 08.54.The reason the rednecks, aka mckenzie, ran the campaign to oust Val and stop her vision is because her vision didn't allow football, beer drinking contests or pig shooting. That is the mentality she was up against. The people of Townsville laughed so hard when they heard the people of Cairns gave them 110 million because we didn't want the free money they still chuckle about it.

Just had a conversation yesterday with a con artist who said she had contacted Fung for finance for one of her "ideas". I wonder how many other con artists tried to sell him snakeoil and pie in the sky while he was here?
