WARREN ENTSCH, FAILED REPRESENTATIVE: A LOOK BACK AT HIS MOST MASSIVE FAILURES - 7 in a Series

MP WARREN ENTSCH COMPARES HIS JOB TO "TREASURE HUNTING" WITH COMMENTS THAT DENIGRATE EVERY TAXPAYER IN FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND

In his typical blowhard style, Warren Entsch yesterday bellowed "By crikey, I will give it 1000%" when asked if his Abbott government will be assisting with the finance of a new Cairns Theatre.

1000%?  This gives few in the community comfort.  How about 1,000,000,000%?  The result will be the same - the only thing we ever get from Entsch is the 000's.

Entsch, also known as the Minister for Blogs, has been grossly ineffectual during his terms as Member for Leichhardt.  It's no wonder - his own party leaders including Tony Abbott threw Entsch under the bus a long time ago.  Entsch was at one time thought to be an up-and-coming leader in the LNP, but his big mouth, lazy persona, and drink driving conviction saw Entsch relegated to a position far, far away from the leaders in Parliament.  He's a cipher  A zero.  A placeholder.

Entsch's ignorant attitude towards us, the voters, was summed up in his statement on the theatre project yesterday.  He said "I don't know where we're going to find buried treasure, but I'm certainly keen to have a go".

Entsch actually believes that Cairns is looking for a handout.  He thinks we're a welfare case, with cup in hand, hoping for a few coins to be dropped into our community by HIS government.

OUR TAX MONEY!

It's already well-known that Cairns, and the Far North, receive far less in investment from the State and Federal governments than any other region in the country.  We send BILLION$ to the coffers of these two branches of government.  And get bugger all in return.

Entsch is a lazy arsehole.  He knows that he'd actually need to do some WORK to get the paperwork in place to get our new theatre funded.  Easier just to call it "buried treasure".  No sense getting the community all excited when he's decided it's all too hard.

Entsch knows that HIS chance of getting a dollar out of anyone is like looking for buried treasure.  That's the sad fact of Warren Entsch as our MP.  Val Schier didn't have any trouble getting almost $100M for the community.  This was pissed away by the Manning Council and Gavin "Don't Rape Me" King.

Bob "Sleepy" Manning, who already has conceded that the Cairns ratepayers will pay the whole inflated cost in order to have something underway at the next Council elections, was told by local member and Treasurer Curtis Pitt that the current so-called plans for the project are grossly inadequate to even open an application for state participation.  Pitt is said to suspect like a growing majority in the community, that the $65M is grossly inadequate to build a theatre that takes the community into the future.

Entsch was quick to take credit for the Esplanade Lagoon, although it was John Howard that stepped up, and made the announcement after being lobbied by Tom Pyne.

Entsch was anxious to announce he had "dinner with the Dalai Lama" along with his new beard, Yolanda (or maybe it's just a new moustache) - then claiming he was "spiritually recharged".  The Dalai Lama is a symbol of humility and enlightenment.  Entsch's "dinner" was along with hundreds of others. . .so much for the "humility" part.  Must have been dozing.

ARROW INDICATES LOCATION OF WARREN ENTSCH DURING HIS
"DINNER WITH THE DALAI LAMA"
So in summary:  Bob Manning says we don't need the money, Warren Entsch says a return of some of our tax money to the community is like looking for hidden treasure, and our local MP and Queensland Treasurer demands proper accountability, refusing to get drawn into a bullshit exercise.

Bloody typical.

In a public meeting yesterday Wazza was asked about his progress with cheaper home insurance - he waffled and made excuses for why we here in Cairns cop it hard - it's all about 'cyclones' he said, followed by more waffle. He then said he hadn't heard about the Australia Post Home & Contents insurance - a politician who is making this topic his specialty unaware?????? (Obviously he doesn't read HBW!!!!)
Then he went on to say that he was surprised this topic wasn't an election issue......no-one asked him?????
So Wazza (or any of your mates who read this, please on to him) it IS an election issue - not just for the important topic in its own right, but for the fact that your bullshit on and on, can't deliver anything to promise to, and keep bullshitting that an announcement is 'imminent' and that 'progress is being made'. Wazza it's but one test you have failed. How many more have you failed?????

I'm not into personality bashing HBW. I prefer to look at an MP's style of representation and achievements of representation. Entsch has not matched the achievements of his predecessor, Jim Turnour, who had to battle a hostile media machine during his entire three year term. As I have mentioned before, each and every time I go to the Liz Plummer Radiotherapy and Oncology Unit, I thank our lucky stars we had Jim as our Federal Member. I have every confidence that Sharryn Howes will work as hard as Jim to ensure we receive our fair share of funding.

I bet the Dalai Lama pissed himself laughing when he saw 'Warren the great white whale' enter the hall? Ol Dalai would've know that the buffet would cop a hiding from Herr Entsch, and so would the shitters after his colon processed the evenings intake! I wonder if the Dalai 'channelled' Wazza? After all it appears that our gay marriage loving Fatboy is supportive of 'channelling'!

If afraid the only thing that would "spiritually recharge" that fat fucker Entsch would come in a 26 fl. oz. bottle !

WTF did you say Shanghai? stop picking on Wazza, the fella that will receive a huge payout from the tax payer for doing "JACKSHIT" for Cairns.

Stentsch is an all-round (pun) failure. He was a puppet long before he got his snount into the public trough. Ask the Germans. Ask the RSL. Ask the Ulysses. Ask the ex-wives. Ask his family. The goat-fucker is an abject failure.
He still hasn't been cleared of the debacle that spelled the end of CEC, allegedly owes a motza in child support, is simply not welcome in many communities within his constituency (read Laura where he was nearly strung up and only saved by a Police escort to a chartered plane) and is universally treated as the joke he is in Canberra (a la the bolt for the door episode).
I could confidently challenge the fat fuck to nominate what he has done for his electorate since he's been suckling the hind teat - his current campaign doesn't give any hints - and any impartial adjudicator would scribble FUCK ALL in red on his score.

I am considering not voting in the upcoming election. The propaganda in my mail instructs me to tick the box of my choice. I choose none of them - and I refuse to cast a donkey vote.

Does anyone realize that only 1/4 of the debt everyone panics about is actually owned by the fed government. The rest is owed by local government, state governments, those new jets Qantas brought, that LOAN for the new black BMW your neighbour brought etc etc. So when the libs and talk back hysteria gets there basic economics confused with political propaganda they need to tell the truth. Gov debt which was accumulated to save our bacon in the GFC is still recognized and admired by foreign governments as a well done exercise in a time of financial meltdown to save our economy not ruin it. We all kept our jobs and mortgages and we survived. I shudder to think what would have happened if one Tony Abbott and his friends had been in the Lodge when the GFC struck. So lets get the deficit and reality into prospective please folks and have a reality check, not that I am waiting with baited breath for talk back or paytv armchair critics to get it right either as they are Murdock owned and that side of politics. the end

Anon 6:24

We get lied to on everything because politics is about what people want to hear. Not about facts. Entsch is good at telling one person one thing one day an the opposite the next. His only skill and it worked for so many years? Trump never makes sense and contradicts himself 5 times a day but facts are not what his followers want so it is okay.

Debt is of no interest to anyone, just needed a reason to justify hating a female. Same with CEP, irrational when you see them pay more for the theatre now that lacks so much. Turnbull promised, but probably saw how people did want to be treated like they were stupid, so he is using 3 word slogans. And misleads.

People vote for their children to flee Cairns, they vote for their business to struggle then blame everyone but their vote. For Cairns it may be even too late for facts. Greed has prevailed.

Alison Alloway said...

You are not wrong there, Anon 6:24 when you say "politics is about what people want to hear. Not about facts." I have just noticed that Rob Pyne has been deleting my comments where I have corrected some of the misleading information he is providing on his site, "Standing Up for Cairns." You would think that someone in public office would be glad to have the voluntary assistance of someone with knowledge of political history, yet Pyne is in the same mould as his predecessor,so arrogant, conceited and full of himself that he believes he knows everything, as he dishes up crap and spin. Pyne takes it a bit further than the likes of King however in that he has a nasty habit of racing around squealing that he is being "bullied" when even politely corrected. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Must be a huge assault on the ego to find out you don't know every single sole solitary fact in the world since the beginning of time itself!!

Anonymous said...

I agree that people get lied to, particularly in Cairns where many many Hillbillys and fucktards reside. But just because one is lied to it doesn't mean that one can't find out the truth. As an example take that bloated whale Entsch. Don't listen to what he says, look at his actions instead. What has he achieved in all those years in office? There's your answer people, get off your ass, realise that your future and that of your friends and family depends on meaningful change, and help bring that change about. Are locals seriously that fucking stupid so as to vote this tool in yet again? If so, then we deserve all that we get.

Hamish Krint said...

In his local TV ad Wazza is going to 'improve social structure'. What exactly does that mean Wazza???? Maybe you, or even one of your friends, could explain this here on HBW. I won't hold my breath......

Anonymous said...

"social structure" sounds real cool. The bogans would be really impressed with that. What it means is that so many elderly people will die because wazza has voted to cut a few $$billion off the funding for aged care and fully intends to privatise Medicare so more people particularly the poor will quickly die off thus "improving the social structure".

Alison Alloway said...

Entsch won't hesitate in voting for every measure to privatise Medicare. The LNP are already taking stealthy steps to privatise our national health care system, in freezing GP co-payments and privatising cancer records (given to a Telstra company of all things!!) Nice hey, if your doctor needs urgent information, and finds the network down and cannot get a response on the callcentre! Yeah, real good. NOT!
Talking about privatisation of Medicare, it just beggars belief that our State MP, who is himself a paraplegic hasn't stood up to plead for the retention of our health system. His own injuries would have meant a good deal of medical care, specialist care and ongoing attention. His avoidance of any statement on the issue is very revealing, and no, he cannot excuse himself by providing the weasel way out that it is a "Federal" issue. Pyne has weighed into the abortion issue which will also impact upon women if Medicare is privatised. His silence on the stealthy privatisation of Medicare reveals a cold and callous contempt for the less well off in the community. In that regard, he is exactly like Entsch. A brute.

Anonymous said...

They must be worried about losing Leichhardt as Turnbull came buying votes.

Anonymous said...

Would not be surprised at all if Entsch wins, this town kept Manning...

Anonymous said...

Good point there AA concerning Medicare and abortion. Looks like women may achieve a victory of sorts in Queensland but it will be one step forward several steps backwards if Medicare is privatised.

Anonymous said...

Just checked Pyne's site. He is only interested in saving Gonski so he is now sitting beside a Greens supporter. No mention about saving Medicare. Oh well I guess the Greens have the manpower to run around helping Pyne during the next election when he can then dump them. Entsch doesn't give a damn we all know that.

Alison Alloway said...

Thanks Anon. 15.02 and 15.44. It's interesting that Pyne claims to be all concerned about "inequality". Yet his silence on issues such as the pending privatisation of Medicare and the dramatic ruptures to our welfare safety net which has seen deserving people like quadraplegics fall all the way through, shows him up as the hideous dissembler he really is. Cairns people have demonstrated they are easy to deceive, like trusting little children, which is why we have self-serving charlatans like Entsch and Pyne as representatives.

Anonymous said...

Saving Gonski. And you have a problem with that? Anything that can raise the educational and intellectual standard of your average Far North Queensland Neanderthal to anywhere near the national average surely must be something worth fighting for. Should have happened decades ago. Rob Pyne should be regarded as a genius at identifying the core problem with the Deep North and is at least doing something worthwhile to rectify it.

Anonymous said...

You write - "Entsch actually believes that Cairns is looking for a handout. "

Yes that is exactly how they think. Go to a southern media blog and put the case for public investment in Cairns citing unemployment and even the left say why should taxpayers support lifestyle choice? Cairns will be ilke North England, well it already is. Liberals are trying very hard to compete tax wise but by having our government revenue decided by business means we will see severe drop in living standards next 10 years and it will hurt here the most. And Enstch suports that. As does ALP just with them it will take a bit longer. We need a CAIRNSEXIT.

Have not seen Pitt do anything about Medicare or inequality? Or anything really. Or Crawford.

Anonymous 20.04, It's a bit hard to think of a child lying flat on his back in a bed, stricken with pain, trying to absorb education. Nobody can absorb much when they are in pain or sick (unless of course they are all geniuses). But it seems to be par for courses here, to put the cart before the horse so to speak. No doubt about the skewed thinking of some people. God help us.

I confess I thought Pyne would come flying out championing the cause of the disabled, since the LNP have slashed hospital funding, made changes to Disability Support Pension making it harder for people to claim, have also changed eligibility criteria for the Carers Pension and are slowly but stealthily privatising Medicare, piece by piece. However it appears obvious Pyne will only champion the disabled when it suits his purposes and not when it is needed for everyone.

It's very disappointing.

Anyone at HBW able to give a rundown of the lesser known candidates and their policies? if any, for the deep north? I know one is openly homophobic and against marital equality and that's about it. I don't read the local right wing rag and local ABC and commercial radio coverage is hopeless.

The Greens will protect Medicare and throw in dental as well. The left have to stop attacking each other. Not a good look.

Alison Alloway said...

Baliguy...I was waiting for some fool to bring up "personality bashing". There is one hell of a huge difference between asking a disabled person, who is a politician, to go in and barrack for other disabled people, as against posting comments about people's sexual preferences and their partners. Pyne is a PUBLIC disabled person who has not hesitated in the past, as people point out, to advocate for disabled people. I make no mention of his private life nor his family and I never never will. I am calling him out in his PUBLIC ROLE as a politician. Do you understand the difference? Sheeeeeeeesh, there are some bimbos and imbeciles out there!!!

What I would like would be to see Rob Pyne express his concerns and opposition publicly over the major slashing and burning of our welfare system, which has included changes to the Disability Support Pension, the Carers Pension AND the privatisation of Medicare. On top of all of this are the huge cutbacks in funding to our hospitals. All of these will adversely impact upon the disabled and the sick. IF Pyne was TRULY independent as he claims, IF he truly isn't playing the left/right political argey bargey, then he MUST go into bat for the disabled. His lack of comment is very revealing and frankly an outright betrayal of the disabled. I restate it, that in the past he has been an advocate for the disabled. Where is he now?

Observer said...

Ive just been browsing through facebook and twitter. Came across posts from people saying that they are now being charged $20 upfront from GPs ahead of the 1st July changes, and one woman has posted that she was made to pay $225 upfront for an ultrasound which previously had been bulkbilled. Blood tests are also expected to attract fees after July 1. I agree with you AA above that Pyne should be saying something as he would know just how many tests, scans, Xrays, GP and specialist visits a disabled person needs. The LNP are smashing our public health system bit by bit much like taking a mallet to a piece of concrete and breaking it down. I would expect the likes of Pyne to defend the right of critically injured people to public health services. He has in the past commented on growing inequality in Australia yet his silence on what is happening in the health system is deafening.

Now that Brexit has succeeded, I expect the following in quick succession:-
Wexit - WA secedes from the Commonwealth
Qexit - QLD goes it alone
Entschexit - Wazza takes his super and heads off to the UK to coach the soccer team who just got wopped by Iceland!!!!!

BREXIT is yet another action by which people are rejecting globalism and neo-liberalism. The EU was a classic example of neo-liberalism at work and Britons became increasingly sick and tired of being dictated to by Brussels and the corporatists. Severe austerity measures whereby the poorest people were made to pay for corporate handouts, attacks on the National Health Service, rising rents and housing unaffordability as the investor class took over housing have all conspired to make life increasingly difficult for many Britons. Great resentment has been simmering away for years which previous governments all ignored. Resentment at losing the industries of which they were once so proud and which employed so many people. Resentment at losing their national autonomy in servitude to Brussels and resentment at slowly losing their national identity.
As more and more migrants poured steadily into the UK, affordable rental properties became impossible to find, overcrowding has resulted particularly in London and the big cities, there is less and less of the welfare pie to go around everyone, the hospitals are over-stretched and aged care is in tatters. The bottom has fallen in. Homelessness has risen hugely and every now and then even the Murdoch media will carry the odd story of people starving to death or being found frozen to death. Meanwhile the wealthiest 1 percent have increased their fortunes.
I don't know what the future is for England, however I can understand why they voted for BREXIT.

Another Brexit happened overnight — the English soccer team's inglorious exit from the European Cup, at the hands of Iceland, a country with the population of a home counties' town such as Croydon!

Christ or mighty the hospitals are going to cop it when bulk billing is abolished once Medicare is privatised. All those pensioners who get bulk billed for their injections and checkups wont be able to afford the costs at the GPs. All those 24 Hour Clinics will have to close down and hospitals will have to pick up the overflow. I don't reckon people have thought about whats going to happen. The Tories have fucken well slashed federal funding for hospitals big time as well. Jesus H. Christ there was a stack of people sitting in the 24 Hour Clinic at Florence Street the other day when I took the wife there. All those people will have to go to the outpatients at the hospital here. Its going to be a fucken nightmare. Stench will vote for privatisation and then bellow like a knackered bull when the hospitals get the overflow and blame it all on the State government. That's what I reckon Pyne will do too. Yeah I can see it coming. Lets bloody hope Labor wins this fucken election so the oldies out there can still get good medical help. Oh and fuck Entsch and Pyne.

Observer, well said! Good to see there are other people on this planet who have not 'swallowed the blue pill'. The troops are starting to wake up and fight back. The 1% are now existing on borrowed time. The game is up, they are being exposed more and more each hour, each day, each week. If the mainstream politicans can't see this then they are also blinded. If you want to gauge how pissed off people are with the likes of the Shortens and Turnbull's just watch South Australlia's poll results after Saturdays elections - the rise and rise of the Nick Xenophon's!
A quote from Morpheus to Neo is appropriate for the electorate in Cairns, and all of Australia in fact;
"This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more".

Alison Alloway said...

As ummm erudite as ever Bob R! Glad you mentioned the 24 Hour Medical Centres as I have had to visit them as well, once in the early hours of the morning, where I found much to my amazement the place full of people and the place buzzing along briskly. These people will all fall upon the hospitals once bulk billing is abolished as you say, with horrendous consequences. Would our own hospital cope with the overload? Where will the aged pensioners go to get their yearly flu and pneumonia vaccinations? As Bill Shorten said, for pensioners it will be a choice between being able to afford to eat or seeing a doctor. How many will die before their time because of this or end up in far critical need of care and end up in the public hospital system? The Turnbull Government have made some heavy cutbacks in health funding, so how will hospitals cope with a dramatic increase in demand? Aged care has also been subjected to severe funding cuts, so where will the frail elderly go? Our ageing population is of paramount concern, as we boomers enter our declining years, exerting more pressure on the health system. How will GPs cope with a drop in their client base because many of their clients cannot afford to pay for visits? Many will simply have to raise the cost of consultations.
The sheer gravity of the issue is overwhelming. Once Medicare is privatised and in the hands of the American health corporations, it will never again be an Australian public institution.

Alison Alloway said...

Yes, Anonymous 21.59 and Observer, the BREXIT vote was a direct consequence of neo-liberalist policies dictated to the EC by Brussels. We all know the consequences of neo-liberalism, the like of which we are experiencing here in Australia; the privatisation and tearing down of our great public institutions and the public sector, offshoring of our manufacturing base, slashing welfare and the rise and rise of unemployment, housing unaffordability and the widening of inequality. Sadly, certain demagogues, particularly from the far right, are manipulating the economic victims of neo-liberalism by stoking up racial tensions. Getting the victims to blame fellow victims. Getting those on the economic bottom rung to squabble amongst themselves. It is ugly, ugly, ugly. However if that wasn't ugly enough on its own, there are those who are also using the horrendous consequences of neo-liberalism to stoke up bitterness between the different age generations. We have witnessed a little of that here, but not to the extent it is being used in the UK.
