CAIRNS BUS DRIVERS CELEBRATE "SUCCESS" - QLD GOVERNMENT ROLLS CAIRNS AGAIN

After over a year of "rolling strikes" by Cairns bus drivers, the weekend saw Deputy Prime Minister Jackie Trad hailing "wage parity" for transport workers, starting in Cairns.

Drivers hailed the "wage parity" agreement for Cairns.  Proving again that you don't need much in the way of brains to drive a bus.

The cost of living in Cairns is much higher than most areas of Queensland.  Why should we be paid the same wage?

Example:  We pay Warren Entsch, the most worthless member of Parliament in Australia, the same outrageous salary as (insert name of ANY other MP here).  Parity never does Cairns any favours.  And despite an "opening" for Entsch to do his job for FNQ while the Minister for Northern Australia sorts out his citizenship issues, Entsch says "sorry, not interested.  Too much work".

Oddly, you don't see anyone in government advocating "price parity" for petrol, nor home insurances, nor electricity.  Shit, we're even paying a lot more for Ikea products!

Cairns, Rolled Again!  We have met the enemy - he is us!

Entsch knocked back the Ministry because that would involve work. But it is telling that Canavan admitted he was the Minister for Mining and not Minister for the North when he said he had enjoyed his 12 months as the representative of the mining sector. So we know the Northern Australian development is purely about mining, not about places like Cairns or agriculture or tourism.

From a purely rational economic perspective, Cairns people should earn more for some jobs than those in cities especially. It is the only way to capture wealth created in the region.

Good one Hillbilly, an excellent way of looking at this issue, though having recently been in a few southern capitals, I think living in the Far North is its own reward. And although it doesn't justify the outrageous fuel gouging by the cartels, at least most of us drive fewer kilometres by comparison.

When it comes to "value for money" no politician is worth a droplet of panther piss. However Entsche is something else. The overweight bottom feeding whale couldn't work a decent day if his life depended on it. But I don't blame him, it is 'we' who allow this because it is the people of FNQ who vote him in. Same same when it comes to the abhorrent insurance, fuel and electricity prices. The only way to change it is to vote out people like Entsche, and people such as Trad and Anustascia and their lapdog Coitus Pitt. That's how you get politicians attention. But it simply won't happen because Cairns locals are too lazy and brain aged to understand this. Just look at the re-election of Sleepy Manning as an example of Cairns lack of mentality. Anyway, with the Aquis fantasy finally getting put to bed there will be less chance of infrastructure improvements in Cairns on a large scale. All attention will shift to Adani and the railway, lots will be spent on a relatively isolated area, however that's how the ball is rolled. As for Cairns pay parity what a joke.

The shock-jock is quickly rewriting history on Aquis. A caller yesterday pointed out that the Aquis scam has set back development in Cairns by many years. McKenzie agreed and added that the Aquis saga had badly undermined Cairns' reputation as a good place to invest. What he failed to mention that he was at the forefront of promoting this scam, day in day out, with the help of Trout, King, the local white shoe brigade and that washed-oup former Bjelke Pedersen minister, who claimed he was the one who had set up the original deal with the Fungs during a private lunch on someone's yacht. As soon as I found out that grub was involved, I knew the whole thing stank to high heaven. Who knows what sort of promises were made. Brown paper bags, anyone?

Early in the piece, serious reservations were raised about the viability of this pie-in-the sky project. Even the likes of Kevin Byrne and Danny Betros expressed doubts. Everybody else was dismissed as anti-development, anti-everything greenies. Every day this went on for months on end with King and Trout making multiple appearances during talk-back most days talking up the scam. McKenzie even went on a junket to Macau with a breathless 'live" report on all those fantastic glitzy casinos and how it would transfer Cairns. He got totally sucked in as did most of his brain dead audience.

Now he is acting as if it had nothing to do with him. He did the same after he whipped up hysterical opposition to a brand new hospital, something we have been paying for dearly ever since. Let's also not forget his on air love affair with a certain southern mayor, who is alleged to be a thieving whore monger. McKenzie has of course dropped him faster than a hot potatoe. Then there was the disgraceful anti Schier/ anti theatre campaign, which again cost the city millions of dollars. What a grub. Someone should hold him accountable for all his lies and mischief making.

It's funny, most Cairns wages are totally fucked. Yet Sleepy Bob gets over $200k with his muppet Councillors on around $120/130k!!! Why?? Most Councillors in Queensland and NSW average around $25/$30k with Mayors around $45/50k, maybe up to around $100/120k if lucky. Why do the incompetent FNQ rednecks earn the coin that they do? You can't justify these enormous pay packets considering what we are getting for our money - lazy, incompetent, dodgy, out-of-touch fucktards who achieve SFA! HBW should put a comparison chart together and compare our knob gobblers with the rest of QLD. You would be shocked, and disgusted.

Fuck off. Without mining, this country and this city is fucked. Obviously you have no idea about economics.

Ha ha ha. Sunbus drivers deserve top dollar for having to drive through Manunda and Mooroobool. Safety money is needed! They also deserve extra pay to cover the risk of catching Ebola off those shitty feral buses. But seriously, those retarded drivers couldnt drive if there lives depended on it. Rude fuckers pulling out on you when you are level with them, ploughing through roundabouts like fucktards on steroids and spilling their overfilled fuel on the roundabouts. Half of them can't scratch their balls because their fat gut rests against the steering wheel. Have you ever seen the tubby, bearded overweight sloths put something in the luggage compartment beneath the bus? Sweating, breathing heavy, all flushed in the face! Ha ha the uneducated Hillbillys, they should pay us to ride on those disease ridden sweat stained mobile petrie-dishes every day. If you swabbed the seats and hand grips I'm sure they would contain ecoli and other such treats. And as for the fuckers running on time, ha ha ha. Let's not forget the Scumbus that didn't stop for Daniel Morcombe.....fools

Mining is what fucked the economy in Cairns Anon 9.11. Obviously, it is you that has no idea about economics. The AUD has finally come down after the mining boom is over and finally, our economy starts to do well. Ming and AQUIS starved the city of investment.

Annon 08:06, Cairns needs to boycott the bald headed Tranny loving cock-jock. The only way to get the parasite off the air and hopefully out of Cairns is to make him unemployed. Boycott the station and his radio show, make his bosses lose money. I would rather tune in to listen to Manning snoring or Warren Stensche struggling to breathe than listen to Cueball. The aging hermaphrodite is 'old news' and needs to fuck off. Cairns needs a fresh coat of paint so to speak, out with the old and retarded and in with the new - dump Cueball, Stench, all of Council, Kevin Byrne and friends, and every washed up has-been that pollutes Cairns with their prehistoric time warp methodology.

It is true that mining saw us through the GFC. However that is more of a delayed response. Our day is coming.
Doesnt change the fact that Miners are selfish, whining grubs who need their teeth kicked in. Ive never met a bigger bunch is sulking, dirty sloths who think everyone should bow down to them. Fuck em, get robots to do their jobs or chinks on 457 visas.

Congratulations Hillbilly. It seems you photographed the only bus that does not have an air-brushed photo-shopped grinning real estate agent plastered over the bum end of the bus scaring the motorists behind and causing their kids to have nightmares. You must have waited for hours.

WTF did you say Shanghai? They are talking about you. Haha

anon 10:06 " It is true that mining saw us through the GFC"

No, it may have got the rest of the nation through it but it caused a decade long depression in Cairns. Cairns would have been better without it.

now now children engage brain before operating mouth or fingers a state award means all that state ,a federal award means all over Australia its quite simple really as for collecting money how third world buy a card/tickets from shop or something .all the driver has to do is drive rather than argue with locals over $2 AND GETTING STAB IN THE EYE. anyway my dredge is at Curtis island and heading north abbot point then innerfail then cans I have a tonne of avocadoes and the best cock heading north as in fighting rooster . then I can fuck my crew off to china thank fuck for that.

Cueball always makes a big deal of " foreign" names, struggling to pronounce them, so the listeners are understanding clearly that whoever he is talking about is not your average white Anglo-Saxon Aussie, but either an indeginious person or some evil foreigner. Today his ignorance reached new heights when talking about the Parmalat milk issue. According to loudmouth it is apparently ok to pronounce it: Parmalaay..., because it is a French company. It is in fact an Italian company. The French word for milk is "du lait". The Italian word is "latte'. Totally different pronunciation. Totally different languages Ignorant tosser. Can't even get the basics right,

the earth is dying because we keep chopping down the trees.so save mother earth or we will have no home.so stop polluting ,don't drive your cars and definitely do not chop down trees or it is unfair to the animals that live in the area . and in Smithfield these wallabies lived there but we chopped down the trees to make a dumb fence, think before you chop dumb ones .

O/T but Warren Stenche has been in his element the past 2 weeks talking about queer marriage and all things homosexual. He is so outspoken and supportive of this issue, obviously it's a topic close to his arse.
But don't you just love all this shit? The fucking economy is in trouble, tea-towel heads are wanting to blow up our domestic airlines, both major political parties are fielding fuckwits, yet the 'big issue' is gay marriage!!! Absolute joke.

Anonymous 7/8; so out of touch! The majority of Aussies want this useless govt to vote this in instead of running an expensive postal poll. I guess the many homophobes on this site will be voting no.

I notice its not only Mckenzie that has distanced himself from Aquis and making out is was nothing to do with him. A recent Cairns Post article from non other than Daniel Bateman who daily wrote reports of why and how amazing Aquis would be for Cairns was now reporting how Councillor Richie Bates, who also was in full support of it, is now calling for a fake inquiry as to how much the council spent on due diligence to bring Aquis to Cairns. Bates is always the first to support something where he thinks he can get his face in the papers and then always first to cry that he had nothing to do with it when it goes wrong.

Richie Bates, Daniel Bateman, sounds like they are 'baters' alright, MASTURBATORS.
Wouldn't surprise me is Entsche's middle name is also 'bates'.

All the Councillors supported Aquis, except for Rob Pyne. All the media people uncritically supported it with not one single "journalist" doing some proper investigating. All the local state and federal politicians supported it with not one person doing any due diligence. All of them did nothing but talk it up. Aquis Aware was the only group asking questions and were relentlessly attacked by local media and politicians with McKenzie, King and Trout leading the pack. They were made out to be anti-everything greenies. As it turned out, Aquis Aware asked all the right questions, while none of the people who were supposed to look after things like this, could see the scam for what it was. The fact that a former Bjelke Pedersen Minister was involved in this should have got alarm bells ringing all over the place. Shame on all of them. It set back development in Cairns by years. maybe that was part of the plan for some godforsaken reason?

It seems Cairns airport Chief Executive Dung-puncher Norris Carter has made a quick grab at an extra million dollars per year profit by upping taxi cab airport access fees by a whopping 10%. Looks like he is settling into Kevin Browns high heel shoes and looking for easy profits and extra bonus money. Of course he has declined to make a statement, typical limp wristed creampuff, but a source told me that the COO said 'the additional revenue will help pay for cleaning up the rubbish and ciggy butts that the grub drivers leave around the taxi rank, as well as the cleaning and repair of piss stained floors in the drivers den'! Fucking rip off airport, will it ever change?

I wonder when Michael (Whatever Labor says I say it too) Trout will pull all the Aquis crap off his facebook page. Some has gone, but not all.

Rode Sun bus today. The driver seemed to be in a rush, passengers thrown around in our seats, clinging on for dear life. Have caught one before with a pleasant, courteous driver - can't win em all.

You poor sorry piece of shit. You have no idea how economics work. I bet you're a dole bludging fuckwit. Obviously educated down south - my guess would be Victoria. I'm sick to death of you cunts, who don't even hail from NQ, pretending you know how to make this place run. Fuck off back home, you Mexican piss wreck.

Phillipine Airlines have announced they are pulling out of Cairns already. Yet another short lived experiment. Seems that nobody wants to visit our redneck fucktard city these days. Can you blame them? Our city is now a third world shithole with decaying infrastructure and a dying reef. Not even a promise of free blowies from Cueball or free viewing of the monkeys in the Council chamber at feeding time will atrrract more visitors! Personally I thought watching backpackers shagging in the lagoon late at night, watching Abbo's fighting in the city parks at night and watching hippy bong smokers wandering around Kuranda stoned and unwashed for a month would attract the tourists, but I must be wrong!

You are right, AQUIS set us back years and also has left us with political instability. The 18bn dollar in works claims that was never accurate also left us with little trust in leadership. Adani, again, falling over themselves supporting projects drowning in question marks. Now we see Hanson support, not winning numbers, but still enough to signal a sick electorate. The economy can only survive in this sort of environment for so long. Typical indicators of trouble ahead.

Gavin King still has a video on his facebook site in which he talks about how he is "committed to the AQUIS development." I think the video was made when he was MP for Cairns.
Hillbilly Watch was the first media I read which investigated the problems Fung would have in getting AQUIS off the ground. HBW also correctly predicted it would not eventuate.
