We are in the midst of the greatest most awesome reforms of our hospital system in decades and you would think people would be grateful to our efforts and the awesome work that Lawrence Springborg is doing. Truly, the Borg is the greatest health minister this State has ever seen. But no. There is all this pathetic carrying on about people needlessly dying. I mean, is it MY fault if people want to up and die? I'm sick and tired of having junior doctors whinging in my ear as well about who is going to supervise them. I mean what the hell did they go to university for? I didn't need any supervision after I left university and look at me now? Awesome. Yet all we get is whinge, whinge, whinge and hysterics. You all ought to be grateful too that Tones has brought back our Imperial Honours system and I know I am in line one day for a Knighthood. Now that is really awesome. I'm already practising saying it in front of the mirror. The Right Honourable, Sir Gawain Bling. Awesome! What an awesome honour for Cairns it will be. That will show all the people who say I haven't done anything for Cairns. Yes you'll all be eating your own mean words when I get Knighted. Toodle pip for now. I have also been reading this morning where the young registrars at the Cairns Hospital have been pleading their case on Gavin King's facebook site. King has been arrogantly and loftily dismissing their fears as "hysterical". Meanwhile I also note where professional employment sites are warning doctors against working in Queensland Health. We are now seeing a disaster unfolding. Frankly, I am wondering if Springborg, Newman and King are of sound mind.

Liznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3182703408922632531.post-58437695709071219232014-03-25T19:48:57.499+10:002014-03-25T19:48:57.499+10:00Here's a place where you can give your support...Here's a place where you can give your support to our doctors in their fight against totalitarianism:
https://keepourdoctors.com.auTASnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3182703408922632531.post-11350446880377887412014-03-25T10:06:03.191+10:002014-03-25T10:06:03.191+10:00Thanks Liz. By comparison, every other issue just fades away into non-important argey bargey. Newman and Springborg are putting the lives and public health of Queensland in grave jeopardy. They cannot be allowed to sanction State mass murder, because that is the only outcome if they don't back down or arrive at a mutually agreeable solution with the doctors. It is just as morally wrong to sit back and say, "Oh well, the LNP will commit suicide if they go ahead." How could any normal person take gratification from the needless and senseless deaths of innocents? The very thought of some woman dying in childbirth after a long and arduous labour, just reduces me to tears. The thought of a dear little baby born with deformities who dies because of lack of specialist surgeons, also reduces me to tears. How about a fireman, covered in second and third degree burns, who cannot get specialist medical attention to save his life because there are no specialists left? What about a carload of people who are critically injured in a car accident, who will all die because there are no specialists left in the public health system?
The consequences if this stand-off is not resolved, is just so terrible in its legacy of needless pain and suffering and deaths, and yes, as I have pointed out, the resurfacing of major contagions, that nobody of sound mind could gain any political satisfaction from it.
Alison Allowaynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3182703408922632531.post-51687379203061239712014-03-24T17:11:23.354+10:002014-03-24T17:11:23.354+10:00Anonymous 12.42, you're more than silly, you&#...Anonymous 12.42, you're more than silly, you're a raving lunatic. There are some fucken dickheads in the Labor Party, dickheads who get carried away on the spur of the moment get all caught up in one single bloody issue that it carries off their bloody heads and brains. White Lady Funerals and other funeral businesses would do a roaring trade of dead Queenslanders. Women would die in childbirth, babies would die, cancer patients would die needlessly, stroke, heart attack, burst appendix, aneurysms, car accidents, on and on. Junior doctors need training and just cannot cope with all of these emergencies without the necessary training. Overseas doctors have to go through a rigorous process before being allowed to practise in our hospitals. Of course Newman may want to abolish all of these processes as well. Newman is playing with the lives of Queenslanders. On another issue, reports are coming through on social media that two Queensland hospitals have now started charging fees for services, including treatments for cancer patients.
